Bring on the offseason. Time to see how much money the Yankees can throw at free agents this time around.

Yeah, you know what I think they should do with all the money they make? Nothing. They should sit on it, save it for a rainy day.

I have not and will not ever understand that argument against the Yankees. It's ridiculous.

Sensitive much? I was just commenting on something we all know is going to happen, regardless of how unhealthy it is for the overall game.

I'm simply sick of that BS argument every single year. They make the most money, they spend the most. I don't see anything wrong with that. If owners or players really believe it's unhealthy for the league for the sport to have one team sign all the big name free agents, maybe they shouldn't sign with them or maybe they should spend more money on their respective teams. Or find an owner that will. Or they can just cry about it some more and not do anything.

But what is there to complain about? Their way doesn't always work, it's been almost a decade since they won a World Series. Every year since then except for the Red Sox have been a different World Series winner.

Ok, I was wrong. I apologize to Girardi for calling him an idiot for not using a 4th starter after being up 3 games to 1. He stuck with his plan and it worked. Never would I have imagined that Pettitte would be so effective as he was. I thought for sure this was headed to a game 7 after Girardi's decision to use Pettitte on short rest, but all the buttons he pushed in this series worked. Never has it felt so good to be so wrong. :woot:

Congratulations to Girardi, all the Yankees, and the entire organization for their 27th World Series championship! And for Matsui, you have been an amazing Yankee throughout your entire career.

As for Rollins, looks like your mouth did too much talking this time.:nono: As for the entire Phillies organization, congratulations on a great regular season and postseason run, you fell a little short but the better team won. You have a solid core, so the future is still certainly bright.

Once again, congratulations Yankees!!! :applaud

The YANKEES are back on TOP again...The world is back in it's proper order. :woot:

Now all we need is for the Cowboys to win the Superbowl to make the cosmos truly align. :cwink:

It's not just that they spend the most money it's that they overpay for players. There is no way AJ Burnett should have gotten the contract he did.

I think you will see a lot of teams (yankees included) dropping a lot of loaded/veterans contracts this off season

I don't know how someone can be a Yankee fan and a Cowboys fan.

it's not a dream. it's reality. yankees won world series. it's just amazing! i love it!

I went to Modells on 42nd St this morning - it was like Black Friday in there. They didn't have the locker room hat (they said they were expecting more at 2pm, and were expecting to sell out again at 2:30)...but I got 2 t-shirts: the locker room shirt, and a WS Champs shirt with the roster on the back.

I also got a mug, I've been drinking my Diet Coke out of it all morning.

The Yankee Clubhouse store is 2 blocks from my office...that was also mobbed this morning.

Loving it! :woot:

It's just weird for someone like me who is a Yankee and Giants fan.

Yeah, you're a fan of those teams becasue of where you were born, NYC I assume.

But when you are a fan of God's Favorite teams (The Yankees and Cowboys...Obviously) it transcends all boundries including where you're from. :woot:

玉葉お父さん - Who's Your Daddy in Japanese

Btw,
Was anyone watching SportsCenter? Berman, Singleton, Gammons, and Winfield were on the field and Mariano just dropped by. He gave a great, humble interview, but at the end, he admitted that he was badly injured and that his ribs were killing him. He even said "Thank God we won tonight, because I don't know if I could have gone out again tomorrow". YIKES.

Remember in Game 5 when they showed Mo in the dugout with the heat pad on his ribs, and after the game, he said he was "just cold"? Apparently that wasn't the case. I'm so elated that we won today; this just gives me another reason to be grateful for the win... Mariano would never, ever tell Girardi that he can't pitch in the World Series, but he clearly needs rest after his incredible season this year, especially after working two innings seemingly every game in the postseason.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Mariano for another incredible postseason. Here's hoping you take all the time you need to rest and get back to 100%. If anyone deserves a few months off to get healthy, it's you.

15 minutes after the final pitch and I was at MLB.com, sending the championship hat to my Dad.

Im glad we didnt beat a weak national league team to win the ring.

Lets be real...The past couple of years it seemed the past champions did not face elite heavyweight teams

Tamp Bay?
Colorado?

That may be true, but they still had to play 162 games plus the games in the playoffs to win it. Ain't no easy feat no matter who you play. The road to the world series is probably the most difficult feat in sports.

You can argue that the UEFA Champions League is more difficult
