Geez, those damn refs totally gave the game to the Saints! Did you see that one ref who ran around stripping the ball out of the Vikings players' hands six times? And that one who forced Brett Favre to throw those two interceptions? Those refs were horrible. I choose to blame them for everything.

:whatever:

LOL Seriously, enough of this crap about the refs "giving" the game to the Saints. The two calls in OT were borderline at best, and as a non-partial fan to the game I didn't have an issue with either of them. The PI was legit and the catch was a catch as he maintained control of the ball despite it touching the ground.

If you REALLY want to gripe about the officiating why not complain about all of the phantom "roughing the passer" calls the Saints were given any time they so much as looked at Favre cross-eyed. For 3+ quarters, the refs did everything short of powder Favre's bottom for him.

So the (potential) last NFL games of the careers of Brett Favre and Kurt Warner were loses to New Orleans.

I think Favre needs to be put on suicide watch. Poor bastard has now thrown 2 ints that screws over his team at the very end of the NFC Championship :csad:

Agreed. Between that, and the announcing team praising the ground Farve walks on...I almost watched the game on mute.

I bet Favre will retire, un-retire, retire again, un-retire again and then retire again....all in a matter of six weeks.

Congrats to Saints and Colts for making the S.B.

I think Brett will be back next season. Coming within a few plays of the Super Bowl with a team loaded with talent that simply had a bad game. Management won't pressure him like Ted Thompson did, and after the wounds from this game heal he'll see that he has a Super Bowl team and he had the best year of his career. I'm sure the Vikings would love to have him mentor a young QB for a year while he very possibly leads them to a Super Bowl. Childress knows how to manage Favre, Ziggi will give him all the time in the world to make a decision, and they still have boat loads of talent. He'll be back.

Warner I'm not so sure about. They're defense needs a lot of work, but Warner had to see what happened to the Cardinals after he went down against the Saints. If the Cards promise Warner a Favre-esque schedule, I think that might sway him back for one more year.

Just trade for McNabb if you are the Vikings... 2nd and 4th rounder. And he can give you another 4-5 years. That is if Philly wants to deal him. I mean if they don't see what Kolb has this year they are back to square one outside of an older McNabb.

I was rooting for the Vikings. I don't know why...I believe that either team is outmatched vs. the Colts. And, I sort of don't want the Vikings to extend their Superbowl losing streak. Also, I'm glad in a way to see the Saints finally get there. But I was rooting for the Vikings, anyway.

I don't blame the refs. I don't blame Favre, either. He's always had a bad habit of throwing across his body. He's also always had the potential to pull off great, game-winning plays in clutch moments. Shiancoe looked like he was wide open. Yes, it was a very bad decision. He should've tucked it and ran. He had open field for like 5 yards or more.

With a QB as experienced as Favre, you'd like to think that you'll never have to waste precious time reminding him of fundamentals. But in reality, once he takes the snap, he's going follow his instincts. This is why I think it falls on the head coach to make the situation crystal clear, even to the seasoned veteran QB. This is not the time to take a big risk! Just protect the football and get us in position for a field goal...even a long one. But mainly, protect the ball. It might have also helped to NOT call a play with a receiver stopping for a catch in the middle of the field in that kind of situation.

The posters at 7-3 and 6-4 are still eligible to win. However, the posters at 6-4 would need all the 7-3 posters to lose, while they pick the correct winner. They would also need to win the tiebreaker. So it's basically down to Mal' Akai, Poeman and Addendum. I'll post later on next week what you need to send me.
Boo-Yah!

Halfway through this game, I expected the refs to walk out onto the field with a bib and bottle for Favre. Jesus God Almighty.

I want Brett Favre to come back. If some dumbass isnt in the huddle the prior play, that pick never happens.

Congrats to the Saints and the Colts. They were arguably the best teams this year overall, and they both deserve to be in the Super Bowl. I'm pulling for the Saints to win, but really, I just want a good, high-scoring game. These teams have two of the most amazing quarterbacks we've seen... I'd love to see a shootout in Miami.

Saints 45
Colts 38

I hope Saints will win their first-ever Lombardi trophy in this year's SB.

I don't recall seeing Favre whining. He took some damn hard shots all game, and still took every snap.
