I want opinions on how the Texans will do this year from my esteemed professionals in this thread.

I have them 10-6 and a Wild Card team if Schaub can make it through the whole season.

How the hell can they be worse than last year? If Carson is truly healthy then there is no way they can be worse.

But wasn't he healthy in the 2007 season?

Didn't they suck then, too? Just not as bad?

As a Steelers fan, I've really come to appreciate the Bengals... mainly because we get them twice a year.

The Texans have a tall order with the Colts and Titans, but if they're offense can out gun Indy's and if their defense can match Tennessee's, I think it's possible they could win the division. I'll give them ten wins and a playoff berth, but I don't trust Schaub as a franchise QB.

1-Your Indianapolis COLTS

2-...sure why not Houston, big fan of M.W.
3-surley you can't repeat that '08 majik-'way to handle the Steelers':whatever:...Tenn.
4-gggrowlll from the baby kitten, Jacville.

I predict Culpepper a pro bowler for 8-8 Lions.

I think there is a real chance Stafford could lead the Lions to a 7-9 record.

Roy Williams is so bad.

HOW BAD IS HE?

He's so bad that there's a chance Cincinnati will be even worse this season.

Oh, Tank Johnson sucks as well.

Bull. Roy Williams is a perfect fit in Cinci and its a great pick up for the Bengals. Williams was exposed in Dallas because he was asked to cover people. Playing the AFC North, Williams will have responsibility for the Fullback. Williams is exactly the sort of player the Bengals need to take on the Ravens and the Steelers running games...if he can stay healthy.

Don't tell anyone, but the Bengals have had a fantastic offseason. Coles should replace Housh pretty well. No one got more talent out of the draft than they did. Williams is a great addition. I still have questions at running back for them, but I think they have the chance to shock people next year.

I predict the Texans will win the division and are my pre-season AFC Title pick. I really want to see them add Edge.

:applaud..wait.. I guess yall seriously think the Texans can finish ahead of the COLTS.
C'mon fellas, Black folks who voted for Jon McCain thinks that's strange.

Well then let me explain it.

The Houston Texans return one of the most potent offenses in the country last year. Combine to that they added Cato June, Brian Cushing, Antoine Smith and Connor Barwin.

I also think Orvolsky is an upgrade over Rosenfels in the important back up QB position.

I think the Colts are going to have an off year this year after losing their coaching staff. Their offensive line is going to miss their coach especially.

You're right.... they are a good college football team... :hehe:

They were good, as is the AFC South always, but you have strenght of schedule, and Cato's on the down end of his carrer. That wideout Dre Johnson I think will be a star, but still Matt Schaub is still unproven. They've done wonders in a tough division, but they are going to struggle w/ our revamped offense and hopefully were going in healthy, surley 18 will be back.

True about the O line, but we pop boys in and out-sure in '08 it was tough goin, but there were other variables in that, and remember after the last loss we stomped right into the playoffs w/out a loss.

We have one of the most stable coaching staffs in sports over the last decade. The head of coaching has changed-but Jim was there through the whole run, but really Dungy was the defense dude, I don't ever think Tom or 18 ask his opinoun on the offensive side, Dungy just managed the timeouts and the little red flag...which will have more weapons this season, save injuries.

Dre Johnson won't be a star, he IS a star. Schaub is proven...he has proven that he is a brittle, quality QB. I don't see anything about the Colts offense that is "revamped".

You don't get it. You were only able to pop boys in and out of your front five BECAUSE of Howard Mudd. Howard Mudd left yesterday because the Colts changed their pension plan. He was one of the most successful offensive line coaches in the leagues history. His presence WILL be missed.

The Colts have had one of the most stable coaching staffs. The key word is on had. The Colts now have new faces teaching the defense and, again, just lost the second most vital coach on the offense in Mudd.

Houston also has Mario Williams, Dunta Robinson, Amobi Okoye and DeMeco Ryans to add to June, Cushing, Smith and Barwin.

Lions RB Kevin Smith guaranteed the Lions will be a playoff team today

Oh? Its kinda like how Kitna guaranteed the Lions would win 10 games in the 07 season. The way the started that season I thought they really would get 10 wins.

Which is why I REALLY like the Texans. I would have liked to see them add one of the top safeties in the draft - but that's the only hole I can really look at in this team.

But Kevin Smith is so much cooler than Kitna.

Teams will have to prey on their secondary, which is their weak point, especially if Dunta Robinson gives them problems due to his unhappiness with his contract.

I dont see Houston taking down Indy, but then again...
one can always hope

Indy? I think Houston, Indy, and Jax fans should be more worried about Tennessee after last year's performance. This year should be even more of an explosion from the Titans, I think.

I dont know. I think the loss of Big Al and their defensive coach is gonna hurt them. Chris Johnson can only do so much on offense too.
