Woo Hoo, Keith Butler is staying with the Steelers According to Gerry Dulac...says that he is not even going to interview with the Colts. Glad he is staying.

On the rumor front it's going around that the Steelers are waiting to interview Mike Sullivan (QB coach for the Giants) for the OC job, also maybe Rip Scherer who is Colorado's QB coach.

I am ecstatic that the Ravens hired Caldwell for their QB coach position..though I don't think the Steelers FO was serious about hiring him as our new OC.

So am i really the only one who saw the amazing Namath special on HBO this past weekend?

Nope. I saw the Namath documentary and it was fantastic. Didn't know a lot of the stuff they went over. Knew about his accomplishments in the game but a lot of that off field stuff was fascinating.

I suggest if no one has seen it to check it out. Especially just to see what his contract was when he first signed with the AFL. :oldrazz:

Honestly, I'm kind of disappointed that Butler isn't leaving. There are many more candidates who are far more impressive to succeed LeBeau. Hell, there is even an in-house one (Carnell Lake). It seems Butler will get the job eventually for no reason other than the fact that he has been there the longest and has played his internal politics card well but I don't think that he will be all that impressive.

loved that part where they were explaining his contract negotiations...Would have loved to be in that room in the 60's

I know and that was back before any of the players got all these signing bonuses and stuff.

Also didn't know that he had injured himself badly before going into the pros and essentially ended up playing hurt his entire career.

Hmm... Sullivan could be an intriguing hire. The Giants have really stepped it up this season with QB play. If this guy finally made Eli elite, then maybe he could work with Ben and help him adjust his game a bit. I love that Ben gives it all he's got on every play, but as we saw this season, he's going to keep getting banged up if they don't get him better protection and if he keeps extending too many plays and getting hit.

That's why I'd like someone with an O-line background. They should bring Russ Grimm back.

The logo isn't that bad. Just some minor tweaks. The new logo font is terrible though. There old one was awesome and original. The new one is generic.

i love the new logo..badass

now they just need some defense

Yeah they seriously need to improve their defense. Although if Cam decides to play like he did in the Pro Bowl... they are going to lose a LOT of games.

So now we finally know what became of David Tyree:

David Tyree Quits His Job at Best Buy to Take Advantage of His Last Week of Fame

Former New York Giants wide receiver David Tyree failed to show up for work on Monday afternoon at the Best Buy in Paterson, N.J., because he was scheduled to appear on a local sports radio show in Peoria, Ill.

“You have to strike while the iron is hot,” said Tyree, who hasn’t caught an NFL pass since his “helmet catch” helped the Giants upset the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. “I learned that here at Best Buy. If a new line of phones come out, you sell them fast before something newer comes out.”

Tyree’s failure to show for work on Monday disappointed his shift manager, Kenny Gregson, who said he is glad all of his employees don’t quit to go celebrate their smallest athletic achievements.

“First of all, I highly doubt he’s some Super Bowl hero from four years ago,” said Gregson. “If he was, he’d still be playing in the NFL and definitely wouldn’t be working here. Plus, he supposedly caught one pass on his head? Big deal. I caught two touchdown passes in freshman football in high school, yet I showed up for work today, didn’t I? It’s dedication like this that earned me shift manager for the closing crew.”

In order to afford the trip out to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl, Tyree has sold much of the electronic equipment he purchased at Best Buy with his employee discount.

“I’m even hoping to get into the game, but that will happen only if one of my old teammates gets me a ticket,” said Tyree.

So far the former Giants receiver hasn’t had any luck in that department.

“I asked Eli [Manning] for a ticket, but he said he couldn’t give them away to strangers,” said Tyree. “I probably shouldn’t have been wearing my Best Buy polo when I went up to him at the team hotel. I’m sure he would have recognized me without it.”

For the rest of the week, Tyree says he plans to walk around Indianapolis wearing his old Giants jersey. He also plans to glue a football to his head.

It's from Sportspickle, lol. They write joke sports stories.

Speaking of Tyree, did anyone else know that he's a diehard homophobe? Apparently said he'd would have rather dropped that famous pass and lost the Super Bowl than allow gay people to get married. What a dick.
