So.....

....Miami or Redskins if Peyton can play?

He won't sign with either. Sources are saying that Manning's more worried about being on a team that can contend than being paid. He'll go to either New York, Arizona or San Fran (I don't care how much Harbaugh "believes in," Smith, the front office won't turn him down....he's too marketable).

I didn't realize Peyton had left the Colts, he's an institution there. For the 49ers to attract him wouldn't they need to add a couple more receiving options?

He hasn't yet, but it is looking like they are goIng to draft his replacement (Andrew Luck) and considering how badly the team needs rebuilt, they won't pay Luck 15 million to sit on a bench. It would be a waste of cap space. So they'll probably cut or trade Peyton.

He technically is still with the Colts. In about a month, he will probably have a meeting if he's capable of playing but the way they are cleaning house. He's either going to "retire" if he's not capable of playing or be released if he is.

I suppose if they are rebuilding from the ground up it makes sense to let him go as the current team is built around him.

Tampa Bay plans to hire Rutgers coach Greg Schiano as the next Buccaneers head coach.

So I'm watching First Take and everyone except Skip Bayless was saying that Tom Brady is no Joe Montana. Montana honestly gets so much more praise than he really deserves. He was a great QB, no doubt. His Super Bowl wins cannot be denied. However, I feel that Jerry Rice is the key reason why Montana gets so much praise. Jerry Rice is arguably the best player to ever play his position. Ever. Not to discredit Montana, but I feel that Rice was THE key reason for San Fran's glory days.

Wow, it's like the staff was having a meeting and Glazer said, "We're not leaving this room until someone comes up with a way to out-idiot Indy!" And finally someone spoke up and said, "Let's hire a Big East Coach with a .500 record!" That man was promptly promoted to Vice-President of Football Operations.

Is it me or is this VERY telling? No big name ever really seemed to be all that interested in the Tampa Bay job which is odd considering that they are arguably the most playoff-ready of all of the openings (either them or Oakland). So the question is, what do they know, that we don't? How bad is the front office or locker room situation in Tampa?

As Matt said, I think the Buccaneers and Colts are trying to see who can make the bigger fool of themselves.

You could probably say Ronnie Lott too.

Joe is the greatest qb EVER

And if SF had capitalized more on those other opportunities, it could also have been much different. They could have won in regulation and never have gotten to the fumble in overtime.

Basically, in a defensive stalemate like this, it was bound to come down to something like that on special teams or an offensive turnover near the end zone. And if you look at this and the game against Green Bay, turnovers have been a major part of the Giants' wins. So they either made a pact with the turnover gods, or they've been playing good enough football to have those work in their favor.
The Giants beat the Packers because the Packers have been having Offensive Line issues ever since that Chiefs loss, and they're defense were bleeding points. I think they're defense got complacent that Aaron Rodgers would simply show up a drop a 40 point bomb on the other team, the same mistake the 14-2 Patriots made last year. Giants rely on that front four, and they don't have much (in my opinion) in the secondary, but if they can generate a good pass rush, which they can if your O-Line is spent, then you're in for a long day. If an offensive line can step up and clamp down on that front four, and eliminate the pass rush, then they're very beatable. They're secondary moves around the field a lot, but I always feel without the pass rush that they look lost. I think the movements of the safeties and corners are what the Giants hope offenses bite on so they don't notice the blitz packages. The Packers simply never were able to eliminate that pass rush, and neither were the Falcons. I feel like the 49ers started to figure this out though. They protected Alex Smith pretty well, and if that guy hadn't let that ball hit his leg that game could've been much different.

I think Miami has a shot though. They have some good WRs that Peyton could turn into stars and their defense played well in the last half of the season. And Reggie Bush has actually evolved into a solid backup runningback.

The Redskins are the only snowball-in-hell scenario I can see at this point.

Can't post it on the PG Hype. But if anyone wants to watch a Raven fan freak out, go to youtube and search for "raven fan freak out".
This how that moment will always be seen from here on out

Anyways I am hopping my Raiders have a good offseason and we resign Campbell and trade Palmer to Washington. Get some of our picks back maybe.

I don't think Palmer is going to get a 1st round pick if traded.

Niners are in a much better position than the Fins do, plus Peyton won't have to face Brady & Belichick twice a year (which he will if he's at AFC East). I'm sure if Niners want to pursue him, he'd keep them on the top of his list of destination.

Yeah, Hue Jackson dropped the ball on Palmer with their ridiculous trade, and there's no way that they can get a 1st rounder in return if they trade him to another team. I'm not sure a second-rounder is even guaranteed, but Dan Snyder might cough it up regardless.

Raiders gave up too much for Palmer. For better or worse, he's your quarterback. If anything, Campbell will get traded and the most I can see anyone giving up for an injury prone, at best average QB is a 3rd round pick.

If Palmer goes to Washington and they keep Rex as a backup, they might as well change their name to the Pickskins.

That's what I am counting on speaking as a DC native. And seeing all the stuff they are doing first hand.

Campbell IMO is a good QB better than average I would say. Hell I would even say he is better than Romo. Look at all the stuff Campbell has had to deal with his whole career. He put up with the craziness in DC and lead Oakland in his first year to it's first winning season in years and in his second year had this team playoff bound till he got hurt. Romo on the other hand has had almost an All_Star team each year and has choked each and every time.

LOL don't get me wrong I love Washington they are my second team after Oakland and I one day hope to see the Raiders vs Redskins for the Superbowl again but if I had to pick one over the other I will always go with Oakland and right now Washington is the only team I see that is dumb enough to take Palmer off our hands and almost over pay for him like we did.

Well, it's just not hard to imagine a scenario where Dan Snyder was pondering his QB position with Rex Grossman as the starter, and all of a sudden Oakland called to offer Palmer for a second rounder. Given his own history as the GM, Snyder will probably pull the trigger since Palmer is still a better QB than Grossman. He's just not really worth a first-round pick (or picks, like what Raiders traded to get him).

Well it's the Glazers, they're known around the world for not knowing how to run a sports organization. Just google Glazers Manchester United.
