I know that Broncos' defense is underrated and in fact played extremely well, but is he really the best coach that Raiders can hire?

My friend's wife actually punched him after the Packers lost to the Broncos in the Super Bowl. He was really drunk, took the loss way too hard, arguments took place .... and he ended up getting decked by his lady. It didn't get too serious, other than that, and we all laugh about it now (I actually give him **** all the time about it).

Not a terrible choice, but also not an inspiring one. Smart of Allen to get out of Denver before the inevitable collapse. It doesn't seem like the Raiders were ever interested in signing a big name. Though I wonder if any big names wanted it? Allen may be the perfect transition guy. If he does good, great, the front office looks like geniuses. If not, they get to stand back, let him destroy himself, support him all the way and then find someone new with the stigma of Al Davis washed away due to their fair treatment of Allen.

I just read a great article on this very topic on Bleacher Report. Basically it said that the Steelers organization needs to come out and say whether he was fired or retired and who made the call. They say this because Arians, who never did interviews during his time as offensive coordinator is now talking to anyone who will listen to him. He is coming off as VERY bitter. And if this was a decision from Rooney as reports indicated that went against Tomlin's wishes, Tomlin may be bitter and Roethlisberger is definitely bitter (which is HUGE considering they need him to restructure his deal). With the truth in the open, these things can be moved past but so long as everyone is whispering about them, they will continue to fester.

When I heard he was being talked about, I assumed it meant some big bad thing was about to explode out of Oregon.
 
:hehe: That's usually how it is. The only way one of these high profile college coaches will leave their completely secure, life time job is if they are about to come under NCAA investigations.
 
I sure hope it's not Matt Flynn. He has Kevin Kolb written all over him.

True, but both his sons have good teams. Barring injuries or drastic team personnel changes, they might be in the thick of the playoff hunt for next year.

Is Tomlin bitter because he wants to be accepted by Ben or was he generally that close to Arians? :huh:
 
I'd give Flynn a shot if the price is right and draft one as well.
 
Shotty and Williams hav me excited here in Saint Louis. If we draft well we will have a great team this year.
