2011 NFL Thread: Round 2!

I really liked the way the Giants played Saturday. It's not going to be an easy contest for the Packers.

I'm starting to contemplate whether to pick this game between Packers and Giants as the Upset Game of the Week.

The Steelers should definitely do some cuttin' in the offseason starting with Ike Taylor. I'm no Steelers fan but holy ****. Each time Taylor got burned, it vexed me. I can only imagine how the fans are feeling this morning about Ike's shortcomings last night.

Thomas had 4 catches for over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. I can grok once. Every great cornerback gets burned badly every now and then, but when you do it more than twice to a low-tier QB in the same game... that kinda diminishes your reputation as a 'shut-down' corner.

You're right. Ike Taylor f***ed up too damn much last night.

The Giants held right with the Packers in their meeting in early December. And we know how much momentum can play a factor in the playoffs. I like the Giants this weekend.

Giants Vs Packers : Giants

Saints vs 49er's : Saints in overtime

Ravens vs Texans : Ravens

Patriots vs Broncos : Broncos, last 2 minutes will decide the game

There is no way in hell the Packers are one and done. Just because New York has won 3 in a row doesn't change the fact that Green Bay has won 21 of there last 22 games

People underestimate Eli. The man can play clutch. And that defense can be scary.

The giants will take a hard long look at the chiefs game and see what they did to make the packers uncomfortable. It will be tough with jennings back I see an upset on our hands. Eli has taken massive steps this year and it will comeback to whose defense can stop the others offense the most. The giants pass rush has really come alive.

If the Broncos beat the Pats and he has another big passing day, then I will have no choice but to bow down before Tebow. Please squash them Pats.

Wade Phillips, Mike Sherman, Marty Schottenheimer and Brad Childress.

You know its desperation mode if chili is being brought up. Marty Schottenheimer hasnt coached in the NFL since 2006. The game has changed quite alot since then.

The Giants are red hot right now and Green Bay has one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Eli could have a field day with that secondary.

You have to remember, that Chiefs game is probably a whole lot different if Jennings plays. Just him being on the field makes the Packers other receivers more dangerous. If the Giants are going to win, they'll have to put up 40.

Yeah, Eli can have a field day, but Rodgers will have one. That pass rush won't matter if Rodgers plays how he has in almost every game this year.

Also, the only thing that Mike Sherman did that was a smart move was drafting Aaron Rodgers.

That doesn't mean anything when it comes to the playoffs. The Broncos entered the playoffs with 3 straight losses and beat, IMO, one of the best teams in the AFC. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rodgers have a horrible game. When it comes gametime, he wouldn't have played a snap in 3 weeks. Being away from the game like that can do a lot to a QB.

Wouldnt that be a headline if both one seeds fall and the 2 seeds make it to the conference title games and both coaching being brothers. Imagine a harbaugh superbowl.

Yes, Jennings is a force of nature, but the players on that Giants defense are no pushovers. Eli is on fire. The game will be alot closer than people are expecting. It's going to be one hell of a game, regardless of the winner.

Im pulling for a Giants/Ravens superbowl . As a Giants fan , I want revenge for 2000

Agreed but jennings is just coming off that sprained knee so how healthy is he really? I say the packers test him early. Lock up nelson and jennings and make the old driver, rookie cobb and unpredictable james jones beat you. The packers not having a running game will really hurt them.

If that happened, I'd wish for the 49ers to mop the floor with those Ravens. That game would be all defense, though. I'd much prefer a Patriots vs. Saints/Packers game. That'd be an all offensive game.

That would mean that Jim will have advanced much farther as head coach then he did as an NFL QB.

However, it would be a Super Bowl with two average QBs and one of them (Alex Smith) was mediocre before this season. Don't know if that happens.

And did anyone hear Charley Casserly yesterday on CBS? He mentioned a possible destination for Peyton Manning should Indy let him go.
