I'm rooting for my Giants to win in Lambeau, but I know it's a tall order. It'll take a flawless game on their part to stay close.

If it ends up being GB vs, N.O. for the NFC championship, it'll be like '94 with SF vs. DAL. But Ravens or Pats will be no joke in the AFC, either...unlike San Diego was back then.

Houston has an interesting situation at QB in the offseason: who to keep as Schaub's backup? I'd like to see them keep TJ Yates.

I think Yates will be snatched up like Cassel did when he went to the Chiefs, because there are too many teams in desperate need of a good QB. And Texans will be keeping Schaub over Yates.

So, Peyton is definitely leaving Indianapolis?

If they're drafting Luck, I really can't see him staying.

Isn't Arizona still paying the premium for their current QB, Kevin Kolb? What is his guaranteed money if they cut him?
Yes...it's a legendarily stupid deal with Kolb, so it's made it very difficult and costly. But just imagine Manning and Fitzgerald.

Remember, if the Giants do face the Saints in the title game, it'll be in New Orleans, where they already got wrecked into oblivion a few weeks ago. I just don't see it happening this year for the Giants.
No-one's beating N.O. at home...it just doesn't happen. If GB vs. N.O., have to give the edge to GB because of Lambeau....especially if it's really cold by then.

First of all, I would love nothing more than to see the Packers lose but ...

I think the week off is causing some of you guys to underestimate the Packers. Unfortunately, I just don't see anyone slowing down their offense. Hopefully the long layoff affects Rodgers.

Would Houston though keep Matt "Co-ed banger" Leinart over Yates? I doubt that. Yates has a bright future and Leinart is not going to be anything other than a journeyman who does nothing but bang co-eds everywhere he goes.

Delhomme and Garcia will probably go back into retirement.

I called Denver over Pittsburgh and I am calling my second crazy upset of the season:

Houston over Baltimore. Houston's run game makes up for Yates' shortcomings as a rookie. In the end, this will be a tough defensive battle and I see Houston winning it in the last few minutes with a crucial field goal.

I don't think a certain Matt Moore fanatic wants to see Peyton in Miami.

Peyton needs to retire...

Or...Wade, betrayal of Cleveland, Manning, and Dat MMoore can all star in Burger King ads. Cause Matt Moore loves Burger King.

I read it in article...

...

Hype: Sure you did.

At least his co-eds are consensual.

A good pass rush can keep the best of offenses down, especially ones so centered around the QB...and right now the Giants have one of the best. Plus, GB's defense is very weak, and NY has some legitimate big-play offensive weapons...and weather isn't a factor. With the way that NY is playing now, they definitely have a chance to keep it close, which means they have a chance to win. But anybody can't help but favor GB, it makes sense. Put it this way. the odds aren't as strong as they might have been two weeks ago before NY's defense got back to full strength.

Cards owe Kolb 7 million next year. Honestly, I give Kolb's agent and publicist a lot of credit. He played literally two average games filling in for Donovan McNabb and somehow his agent and publicist hyped him into being the next hot NFL quarterback. And even after he flopped in Philly and got replaced by Vick, they kept the hype alive and got him a sweet deal in Arizona. They sold this guy entirely on hype created from two AVERAGE games.

Poor bastard. :(

Im saying giants definitely make it to the NFC title game. They have fire power and there defense is heating up in terms of pressure. The only question is can the saints win outside in the playoffs on the road which they have not done yet under brees.

 They won a Super Bowl in Miami

Casserley mentioned Arizona.

Also, Houston and Detroit in Playoffs = Appearances on Sunday Night Football in 2012 for the first time ever.

 Lions were on Sunday Night Football in Week 13 this season.

What happens if Yates goes on a Super Bowl run? Would the Texans choose to keep him over Schuab?

Depends on how much of the run is due to him and how much is due to the defense and running attack, I'd imagine. If Yates takes control of the team, passes for 250-300 yards and 2 or 3 TDs per game and leads them to a Super Bowl, then he will start next season. But Houston isn't designed for that to happen, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Hell yeah Broncos!

I never thought they'd make it this far.

Tim Tebow! All he does is win. :)
I like Tim Tebow, but people like you make me sick of him, quick. He had a good game against the Steelers, but it would've been a bad game for Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Drew Brees, Eli Manning or any other elite quarterback (< 50% completion). He's improved, don't get me wrong, but "all he does it win". Who has he actually beaten? He hasn't, so far, beaten any team with a pulse. He went into this game against a banged up Steelers, who looked mostly lost on the field. They could not put anything resembling a drive together until the third quarter, and then scored all the points they needed in ten minutes. The Steelers did all that with a crap O-Line.

Tim Tebow never looks at his second option. Last night he planted on every throw and threw to the guy he was looking at. They even showed tape where he didn't see receivers who were wide open. I mean sure, any given Sunday, he is a good player, and they have weapons. Without Decker though, and with Josh McDaniels on the other side, I have trouble seeing the Patriots lose. Could happen. Certainly seemed like, with the next game on the road, that beating the Steelers was their super bowl.

It could be like the Simms/Hostetler situation with the Texans.

If Jennings is playing and healthy we SHOULD beat the Giants.

Too many options and unlike a lot of other teams we have a lot more ability to efficiently play quicker passing routes against good pass rushing teams.

If JerMichael Finley's hands hold up (as well as his teammates - people forget that was one of the more noteworthy things about the Chiefs game, receivers who would normally make catches were dropping catchable balls) I think we should be alright.

Honestly, Finley's hands were probably the only thing preventing Rodgers from having a 70+% percent completion rate this year.

I can also see our defense forcing some turnovers on Eli... which is something people haven't really factored in here. Yeah, we'll probably give up some yards, but our offense should keep things ticking and I'd be surprised if our D didn't take the ball back a couple of times.

Yeah, that snow, the freezing cold, and that ungodly wind chill are so bad in Miami. :o I think Brees can win on the road in the playoffs, but I don't think they'll survive Lambeau should they make it there. Too much of a homefield advantage to overcome.

Well....it was never like 'let's bring Simms back into the playoff games'. Hostetler had established himself from replacement to legitimate starter by then...so he was the guy to go with unless he himself got hurt. Simms wasn't coming back for those games with a broken foot. So it's a question of who's earned it by now.

Yeah, but they kept both around and had a QB competition.

It's hard for me to pick against the Packers in Lambeau. That, to me, is what gives you the edge. Packers have traditionally done well at home, even back into the Favre era. I like the Giants as a team though. They're defense stepped up and shut down the Falcons. No idle feat.

They are my 'upset pick of the week'.

If the Patriots win on Saturday, I also would say the Texans might, might beat the Ravens. The Ravens might overlook the Texans if they see the Patriots win. They may mentally start thinking about the Patriots and forget T.J.Yates can beat them. The Ravens tend to have this reccurring problem where they get beat by teams they should defeat without any issue.
