So football, remember football guys?!
What does it really matter? There's still a Smallville thread over in the TV section. The show is over and Tom Welling isn't playing Clark Kent anymore (Thank You, God Almighty) so there really isn't a need to have an entire forum for it anymore, regardless of whatever the mods supposedly promised.
But maybe in 15-20 years, after it's been confirmed that all of the cast members' careers have gone nowhere since the show and they have a two-hour reunion movie (like they did with The Dukes of Hazzard and The Love Boat, I think), if SHH is still around, there could be reason to start a Smallville forum again.
I doubt that Pete Carroll will be fired. Seahawks have invested too much in him to fire him before at least giving him a quality QB. On the other hand, I could see him resigning if Penn State or any other decent school made him an offer. I have no doubt that if he could cut his losses and find the right school where he could win another national championship, have a guaranteed job for as long as he wants it and save his legacy, he would do so without a second thought.
Ah yes.
How soon will the Jaguars move to LA? It seems pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point that it will happen, despite the "verbal agreement" that Khan Noonien Singh will keep the team in Jacksonville. They released Jason Hill yesterday, whoever the hell he is.
And when it happens, what will the team name be? I certainly hope they ditch the Jaguar name and those awful teal uniforms. Everything about that team is an eyesore (apologies to Jax fans, if they actually exist).
I agree. I think it's telling that the soon-to-be-ex owner of Jags said that there's no written agreement with the new owner to keep the team in Jacksonville, and lease can be brought out with money (that's why they are lease). There's a guy from ProFootballTalk (Mike Flores I think) who also said to Cowherd that he thinks Jags could be gone in the future.
That does not change the fact that the original plan was to move the Smallville forum to the Superman section & give it its own place. The mods out right lied about that
I wish that the team would go somewhere other than LA. They had their chances twice, regardless of the circumstances. I mean if that's the only place, that's the only place but I'd like to see other options like Omaha, Memphis, or Oklahoma City.Ah yes.

I was wondering about that. I thought I remember them saying as much.
If the Jags move to Los Angeles, lets hope that they do not add "Of Anaheim" at the end of their name.

Who's pumped for Eagles/Seahawks tonight?![]()
I thought the flexible scheduling would help avoid some of the awful matchups we've been getting. Some of the night games (Thurs, Sun and Mon) have been pretty rough.
I'll still be watching, though ...

I stated that I didn't care about the circumstances. They had 2 teams and both teams went.I don't understand why there's an unwritten rule about a city having only two chances for a NFL team, quite frankly. LA had Rams for 50 years, so they have proven to have enough fans to support a team for a long period of time. And if people actually read up about the stories involving the reasons why Rams and Raiders left, they'll know that it was actually not due to the fans, but the owners of both teams. Georgia Frontiere essentially sabotaged the team with mismanagement and then threatened NFL unless they let her move the team back to her hometown, and Al Davis (who pushed for a new stadium) took the millions that Irwindale gave him for a proposed stadium then bolted for Oakland.
Anyway, the Farmer's Field is right now the only privately-funded NFL stadium that is proposed in the country, and so far there's no publicly-funded stadium that is greenlighted in cities that need them, such as San Diego and Minneapolis. NFL is a business, and what kind of business would pass up a 1.2 billion stadium in nation's #2 market, and in a city that has 16 million residents?
Btw, I just realized that BL would've responded to this post, like he has always done.
Flex schedule only applies to Sunday Night after Week 10. It's the reason you've got Lions/Saints this week as opposed to Colts/Pats. Too many scheduling issues to move a game to a different day with stadium availability, team travel/hotels, etc.
I think Penn State would go after a "safer" choice. Pete still has some baggage around him.
I don't think Pete will be college coaching any time soon. He just barely escaped to Seattle before the NCAA dropped the hammer.
