Making a Hulk movie after Avengers makes more sense than making a Punisher ( or Namor / Iron Fist / Nova / Black Panther) movie.

After Avengers Marvel have some established franchises like -

Avengers, Iron man, Thor, Captain America (ordered by most profitable to less profitable.)

Some that have some potential are -

Hulk, Ant-man.

That's it , I do not see any other characters really worth spending big bucks. Characters like Moon Knight, Punisher are better suited to TV series format.

Black Panther, Nova are more suited for animated series format.

If he's popular in Avengers sure. But i'd rather those movies than another Hulk one.

Which wouldn't shock me. The rumors flying around are indicating that a Hulk film will likely appear after The Avengers.

.
but not because TIH made enough money. but beause Marvel studios is a comibook studio. they are only making movies based on their characters. there will be a new Hulk movie in the future. but not because of TIH. context :yay:

The Hunger Games - $105 OW, $215 domestic
The Avengers - $145 OW, $340 domestic

Regardless of the marketing a movie as big as this usually is saved by its legs and great WOM but seeing as the response towards it has been divisive at best I doubt that's going to actually happen.

Even if Avengers sell no more tickets than Iron Man 2 opening weekend it would still make somewhere around 150 million thanks to 3D no?

Avenger's opening will depend on if it's a 3 day or 5, of which we'll find out right before WB announces what TDKR will be. Everyone always tries to save face.

TDKR itself may want to save face in liu of not wanting to open with less than it's previous installment. Though if anything, it will at least open high.

I don't think all the Marvel characters are going to turn into perpetual franchise films. Perpetual franchises are very rare even when talking much bigger films than Marvel's solo films. Avengers itself/X-Men with dynamic rosters would find it much easier.

Yea, heads will roll for that debacle.

It's shocking to me that everybody here is grading the film inbetween a B- to a A-. I have yet to read a negative review on here for the film, and yet the film will flop like holy hell.

Forget heads being chopped off, the people responsible for this marketing campaign will be crucified.

haha yea that's the thing, from what i've heard and read all things considered, it's actually a decent movie. But it's going to bomb hard. Tis a shame.

I agree with this. Marvel Studios and/or fans are looking/hoping to introduce Black Panther, Ant-Man, Namor, Doctor Strange, etc and make them into mainstream franchises.

It's not going to happen, to be honest. In fact, I think Marvel Studios should slow it down alittle. Overexposure can lead to the genre temporarily collapsing.

In my opinion, MS should just stick to their big guns in Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk for the moment.

Disney needs to bring on people who have or are currently working on Marvel media right now in regards to the live action movies for B-listers, basically.

Yeah, Disney really dropped the ball on this one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of the lead actor but the film has yet to be labeled 'dreadful' or 'crappy'. I would have preferred another lead actor but what's done is done. Lynn Collins and Mark Strong were easily the best, and made up for Taylor's casting.

Really? Rotten Tomatoes has a ton of bad reviews for it.

I meant on SHH. I've yet to see anyone trash it.

The really bad and really good reviews are odd to me because the movie is so middle of the road.

I dunno, personally it looked pretty bad in all of the trailers. I don't have any interest in seeing it.

Hah. I've actually had Spidey on my ignore list for years now for that very reason. :o

Everything I've seen out of Carter reminds me of Prince of Persia. That movie was so bland; definitely not great but not bad enough to laugh at. It was a total waste of time. I think POP flopped at the BO too.
