I never made any of the points you accused me of making. I agree all those people got off easier because of their societal role as famous athletes. I'm just saying it's worth taking a look at the context, and seeing that he did change as a person as a result. The crime was not doing anything when your buddy's start hurting somebody and they end up dead - I'm not sure how many people react well in that circumstance when it's their buddies, and his upbringing plays a HUGE role in that. Instead of focusing on the negative of something he really didn't do, but failed to react, take the positive. If he'd killed the person it would be a different story, and although I've heard some rumors to that effect, I've never seen any evidence of it. The Vick scenario is similar - a disgusting crime, but was a victim of the culture he was raised in. He did his time, and was able to come back a changed man and played some great football. Neither are perfect role models, but there is good to take from their stories.
