Looks like the reports are showing that the Rams are going to get a Kings Ransome for this second pick, we could build a playoff team with one draft.

It is certainly looking that way. Cleveland will probably give away two first round picks and a second round pick for RG3. I personally think it is a dumb move. Colt McCoy has potential. A lot of it. The problem is that Holmgren and Shurmur forced him into a west coast system that he doesn't fit into. Now they are going for RG3 (who fits that style a lot better) at the expense of McCoy. I hope he gets picked up somewhere before his best years pass him.

I don't see Cleveland trading up. I'm seeing Miami or Washington landing RGIII.

I respect your opinions Matt, but I think you're the only guy on earth who would trash Mike Wallace and talk up Colt McCoy.

For Eli, the Chargers got 2 First Round, 1 Third Round, and 1 Fifth Round over 2 drafts.

Wallace just can't run routes. It is that simple.

As for McCoy, he had a good freshman season, but right afterward Holmgren pulled him out of the system he was familiar with and COMPLETELY revamped it with a west coast offense (which is in no way appropriate for McCoy's skill set). Holmgren's ego is killing McCoy's career.

But don't you think that all of these teams who are considering making massive contract offers to Wallace would shy away from that if he's so terrible at running routes?

Most head coaches, coordinators believe they can "FIX" a player.

No, because his speed is so damn impressive that like Erz said, coaches will take a risk and assume that they can fix him.

Of course, I am skeptical. The Steelers have pretty good wide receiver coaches and after three years Wallace still can't run routes so what does that say?

I just realized something, if RGIII ends up in Cleveland, and he becomes the QB people are saying he will, then that division will be even more ungodly and ridiculously tough than it already is.

Not necessarily.

Cleveland is going to have to give up some serious picks for RG3. Also add that they have a soft offensive line. Good thing RG3 is mobile and fast. He's going to need help at WR.

Ravens window is closing. And Cowher Tomlin's choices in replacement for the vaunted Steeler defense hasn't been the caliber of his predecessor.

I mean QB wise (Roethlisberger, Dalton, Flacco and possibly RG3), you probably have the top QB division but outside of that, there are a lot of gaping holes.

I haven't seen the Browns play since Hillis had his big year in 2010. But isn't the Browns defense and run game pretty formidable?

You're right about the Ravens and Steelers, but I have trouble not seeing them towards the top of the AFC for the near future.

Erzengel is right. Tomlin has been dropping the ball as far as drafting goes as well as allowing dead weight to stick around as the team stagnates (*cough Hampton cough*). Marvin Lewis will find a way to destroy this Bengals team (if Mike Brown doesn't do it for him by refusing to pay players like Dalton and Green) and the Ravens are getting old with Harbaugh showing no sign of rebuilding as he goes meaning they will need a rebuild period in a couple of years.

That division will be wide open by 2014.

Another friend (yes, I have others besides you Matt :csad: ) said the same. As cheap as Brown is, Dalton and AJ might not be there beyond the next four to five years.

It's just funny the last few years in the AFC, it was always Colts, Steelers, Patriots, to a lesser extent, Chargers, Ravens. Now it's really anyone's conference, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Texans are in the AFC Championship next year.

You have to think though, the Ravens and Steelers will likely be at or near the top for a little bit, just because of how bad the AFC is. There's the Texans, Ravens, Pats, Steelers, and then there is everyone else in that league.

Given his arm strength, a traditional west coast system is the ideal place for Colt. I am not a Colt hater, I think he could be a fine QB, but the difference between fine and special, which I think RGIII is, is worth more than what Cleveland can offer.

I don't Cleveland will pull the trigger though. I could see Holmgren and Shurmur having more confidence than most teams in developing a QB and thus be unwilling to really duke it out with a team like Washington (or even Philadelphia) that may go all in.

And it's always possible that some of those underdogs could get hot and make a run. No one saw the Bengals coming this season, after all. I think Miami could actually be competitive if they get a solid QB. If they manage to land Peyton, or if they do indeed take Matt Flynn and he turns out to be the guy that some are predicting him to be, I think that team has enough talent to win 10 games.

I mean, I know they ALREADY HAVE FUTURE HALL OF FAMER MATT MOORE ON THE ROSTER, but it might be time for him to hang it up. I mean, he's dazzled us with impressive stats throughout his illustrious 23-year NFL career, throwing for 8,000 yards and 68 TDs every season, making 14 Pro Bowls, winning 5 League MVPs and 8 Super Bowl MVPs... he's given so much to the game that he really should go out on top. After he led the Dolphins to the Super Bowl last year, only a year after taking the Panthers to the NFC Championship Game, he really should realize that he's given all he could give.

I can't wait for the epic three-part special, Matt Moore: A Football Life, on NFL Network.

Emmy winner for sure!

What do you think teams would give up for the chance to draft RG3?

The Redskins offer would likely include:

1st round picks from the 2012, 2013, and 2014 drafts (if they have any left... I think they might have dealt some of these in the McNabb trade)

2nd and 3rd round picks from the next 18 drafts

Rex Grossman, Roy Helu and the carcasses of John Beck and Chris Cooley

London Fletcher, D'Angelo Hall and one of LaRon Landry's gargantuan arms

Kyle Shanahan's soul

Emmy winner for sure!

Of course. They have to make it as good as the one where Bill Belichick mumbles for 10 minutes about how he doesn't know how to change the clock on his car radio.

Truly groundbreaking television there.
