So it's a good thing respect for our highest elected official went out the window when Bush took office. I don't want to hear any whining when a republican eventually gets back in the office. Of course there will probably be some sort of qualifier that will approve said disrespect.

"You can insult our president just don't do it on foreign soil."

Here's hoping that Magical Underwear Mitt get's elected.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.....some of my respect went out the window with Clinton, even though I really liked him....

But, yeah, a hell of a lot of it went out the window with Bush, but I showed my distrust of him by not voting for him 2x.....well actually more than that, because I didn't vote for him for governor either.... : )

And, disrespecting him on foreign soil.....no, as Americans that is our right, to say what we think of our leaders....I would simply make a disclaimer of, if you are going to say what you think, don't pick and choose places....just say it.

And actually I want Obama to win this election, I probably will not be voting for Romney.....I want Obama to own the good and the bad.....I want him to OWN, all of it....no matter what it is....

Actually the job creators are predominantly small businesses, and taxing them more will hurt job creation.

The main thing for me is that the government realizes and understands that the government DOES NOT create jobs....

Hmm guess someone forgot to tell that to FDR and Eisenhower.

Gov't has always created jobs. Military, federal, and grants given to fund gov't works by using private industry all create jobs with paychecks. Private industry has rebounded greatly under Obama but the GoP's austerity moves in the public sector has stalled our jobs recovery.

What is your source on that chart, Brawl?

Doesn't look like Private Industry increased.....just looks like it got back to where it was....that's not really an increase.

That's amazing after one of the worst recessions in American history! That's like saying after breaking your leg you get it repaired and it works just as good as it did before you broke it and you sit in front of the doctor complaining that the knee isn't 200% better than before you broke it
so you think it hasn't really got better.

Like Obama said the the private sector is doing fine. The public sector is tanking and bringing our unemployment level down. Imagine if our public sector rose back to previous levels like our private sector did.

OK, Obama is saying that Private Sector has increased...that is not true.

I am not a big government person, so working on public sector jobs and being ok that the private sector is "ok"....is not good enough for me, nor will it ever be.....that is a government building itself on mediocrity.

Soo teachers, fireman, cops, soldiers, fbi, atf, social workers, electricians, street maintenance workers, sewar & garbage, building inspectors, doctors, are mediocre in your eyes?

Do you not read posts? Seriously?

I am talking about how the money is used.....spent......when, where, how? And um, yeah.....many that are hired in those areas are not good at what they do, but because the government has their hand in it.....they are there for freaking ever....

Soo when private companies give exiting ceos 100 million dollar golden parachutes that is great way of spending your stocks investments. The only reason you can criticize the way govt programs are ran is because of governmental transparency that doesn't exist in the private sector.

You tell me how efficient the private sector is.

Actually I think the "golden parachutes" should be stopped in both public and private companies and unions.... : )

See, Brawl, you are coming at this as if I am a right wing, rich Romney loving Republican.....that won't get you anywhere, because I'm not...far from it actually. Am I fiscally conservative, yeah, probably to a fault....but I have no problem whatsoever with higher taxes, raising taxes, doing what needs to be done to pay down the deficit....I just want it done right....I despise the Madoff's of the world, but I am realistic to know that they are out there and probably always will be....I absolutely hate war, and hated both wars of the Bush era....I do believe they are a big reason for our problems today, and the housing bubble, that I know Dodd had a huge hand in, as well as Bush's incompetence....

So please make sure you are using the right colors to paint me, the basic color is purple.... : )

Fair is fair. I am with you that our government is unresponsive and gridlocked. The main problem is that special interests are able to "buy" or politicians on both sides. The "scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" culture is killing us. When we we went to the moon we did not do it to please some special interests, we did it because we challenged ourselves to be better then the world. When we went to war before it wasn't through emergency off the book budget deals. We all contributed to the war effort, we had victory gardens and rationed food and fuel. We were great before but no longer.

I guess the comment that ticked me off was "Big goverenment" as somehow being inherently bad. Government is alot of the time the best solution as it can only do certain jobs that the private sector can never do. I too think we need a much more efficient and regulated government. That can only come once the lobbying business inside the capital is expunged. There is no way in the world the average man can compete with backers like the Koch Bro's or Adelson.

Well, Brawl, you are going to find that I am a registered Independent....with a Libertarian streak that runs deep.... : )

Drudge Report is reporting that Condoleezza Rice is emerging as the top choice as Romney's running mate.

I would love for her to be his running mate, might not be enough to get my vote, but it would help.....but I think he is too much of a "lets play it safe..." kind of a guy.....so it will probably be Portman....

But hey, please surprise me....that would make the race that much more interesting...

She was mentioned by Romney's wife in an interview a few days ago, so now she is on the radar....

Exactly. How much better off would we be today if he hadnt spent all of that money in Iraq?

Drudge Report is reporting that Condoleezza Rice is emerging as the top choice as Romney's running mate.

I dont know if I can see that happening. Rice seemed very happy to get the hell out of DC.

She did an interview the other day.....and she is fairly open to heading back to D.C. but just like the other possible VP picks, she is not saying anything.

Rice makes a lot of sense for many reasons. But it won't happen. We're looking at either TPaw, Portman or McDonnell, IMO.

Rice is the person he should pick, but he won't....he is too careful, and that is what will be his biggest screw up in this campaign, being too careful, and not countering attacks quick enough....

Just read that Romney might pick Dick Cheney for his Vice President. Tell me this has no chance of happening.

No, that is not true....there is also a story out there that says Romney does not allow them to have their picture taken together....

I think the story is he might pick Dick's daughter Liz, but I think that's very unlikely

Possible...but if he is going to have any connection to the Bush years, it would be Rice....and I still think he may pull that one out of the bag....even if she is Pro-Choice....

Thank god! I don't want Romney anywhere near Dick or anyone connected to that crazy man.

While I think Rice can for the most part avoid the negative stigma of being associated with most of Bush's policies, I do think she would bring up bad memories of the 2 wars.

Rice to me seems like a name they are dropping because she is appealing to some people(females, minorities, moderates) so they can say they thought about her but in all reality they aren't even considering her(or she wants to stay as far away from politics as she can)
