At most, Brady will be heavily fined. He's the NFL's Golden Boy, they won't suspend him.

Suspension expected to be announced next week. I'm thinking it will be 4 games, they appeal and have it bought down to 2 games

The NFL would consider suspending Brady?

BREAKING: Tom Brady will be suspended by Roger Goodell for role in DeflateGate, announcement expected next week

Watch it be the preseason games

If Brady is being suspended, Belichick should be also. Remember Bounty-Gate? Remember all the evidence that Sean Peyton didn't know a thing? Remember how that meant NOTHING because as Goodell said, the head coach should have known and stopped it. Same logic applies. I like Brady and Belichick...but the NFL is kinda going all in on the Wells report. If they are doing that, it has to be both of them, per Goodell's past precedent.

''Ignorance is not an excuse'' - Goodell

''oh well since you put it like that,Teddy''- Roger Goodell

He did know though, and he lied to Goodells face. That's why he got the suspension.

I don't understand how Brady is the only one punished. Like Matt said, Belichick should be suspended too. It only makes sense.

If Payton gets a year for a "lack of control" then I don't see how Belicheat doesn't get anything.

They way they were portraying it on one of those ESPN news shows is that Spygate was pretty much Belichick and this was all on Brady.

Listening to the Brady apologists today calling into NFL Radio today had me rolling my eyes so much it made me dizzy. The best was when some idiot kept saying that Tom Brady couldn't have possibly had anything to do with this because it would be "out of character" for him. Yes, because in his carefully constructed, never-say-or-do-anything-controversial public persona, he's never ONCE said anything about how he likes to stack the deck before a game. Therefore, he's completely innocent, because people never act different behind closed doors than they do giving press conferences.

Bruschi is the biggest Patriots homer. Every other NFL player turned analyst can for the most part act impartial.

I don't like the idea of a suspension for this. It feels like they would be punishing him for what the Patriots did in the past, and not what he did currently.

Deflating some balls really isn't worthy of a suspension. It is, however, worthy of a very hefty fine. And in this case, only that. There's no hard evidence Brady, Bellichick, nor any of the higher ups knew about it. Just probability.

Brady isn't only getting dinged for deflating the balls, but not helping the investigation and lying.

should just strip him of all Superbowl wins to show NFL is serious :o

The intent was to cheat, get the upper hand. That in itself, i believe should be punishable with a suspension. This also isn't the first time that team has been associated with cheating. I'd say at least 6 games. Oh, and he flat out lied when he was previously asked too so yeah. It does't look good.

Some guy on a national sports talk show brought up an interesting point last night.

2 game suspension.....advantage for Brady? He's getting older. We're used to seeing players rest in the NBA. If the Pats sat Brady out for 2 games next year people would lose it....but a suspension? Might be just what he needs.
