Ben Roethlislop "not committed" to 2017:

I feel like he's just being a drama queen, but who knows? Dude's 35-years-old and always getting hurt.

Rapistberger has a tendency to be dramatic but this feels different.

Sunday he, literally, called out and blamed his receivers. Now this. And the thing about this interview, he wasn't even goaded into it. Someone said something like "So next year will you guys do X?" And he said "if there is a next year." He steered the conversation there himself. Between that and calling out the receivers, this isn't the behavior of a guy who is looking to lead the team next season.

Of course, it may also be that he is leveraging for money. If I remember, his contract was pretty front loaded. He may be looking to get a restructured extension and make bank for his last couple years. Threatening to retire may get him that.

As a Bengals fan, needless to say I'll be dancing naked in the streets when he decides to hang it up. I can't stand the guy, but his overall talent is undeniable. There will be quite a shake-up in the AFC North once he's gone.

I have to say that I wouldn't be sad to see him go. I'm not 100% sure he's guilty of the things he's been accused of, but I can't help but feel gross rooting for the guy. It's just an awful feeling to tell people what team you're a fan of and they say, "Oh, you root for a rapist." At least if he's gone then I can say, "He's not there anymore."

And I'm interested to see who the next Steelers QB will be anyway, because as you guys just said, he gets hurt every season and he's old so they'll have to move on eventually. If they can land a promising rookie or a Garoppolo-type (I know they won't actually get him specifically, but someone with some experience and a lot of upside) and get him some playing time with Hall of Fame-level talent like Brown and Bell, that could really be something to see. The Steelers have one of the most promising offenses in the NFL; even guys like Eli Rogers and Jesse James are looking like they could have true breakout years next year. So maybe it's time to move on at QB.

I still remember the Sports Illustrated article that came out and how s'ty he was to people in general.

It's hard to root for my wife's favorite team when I can't stand Tomlin or Roethlisberger.

Have you guys seen this?

I will say this, and feel free to take it for what it is, my opinion colored by the fact that I have always been troubled by the rape allegations, which I believe have credibility. But I digress...watching Roethlisberger's press conferences and the likes, he still seems like a pretty ****** human to me.

I know that there is a lot of talk that he got married and had kids and "matured" but it all seems fake to me. When I watch him speak to the press, I get a very distinct vibe that I know very well. It is the same vibe that I get when talking to criminal clients or my less scrupulous civil clients, who are insisting they are innocent, despite all the evidence to the contrary. It is especially reminiscent of white collar criminals and civil defendants, who have done some shady, manipulative things, but who also think that they are the smartest guy in the room and can manipulate everyone, including me as their attorney, into buying their lies.

I realize I'm not quantifying it well, and that is largely because it is just this intangible feeling you get once you have done this stuff long enough. I am sure Hulk knows exactly what I am talking about. Just the moment that this type of person speaks, you know that they are trying to play you. And I'll say this, 9 out of 10 times...once discovery starts and you begin reviewing the evidence, you usually find out that the person is exactly as full of **** as you initially suspected.

And when I see Roethlisberger speak, that is the exact gut reaction I have, every time. Just like when I am having that first consultation with a client like the type I described. And that makes me think all the talk of how much he has "matured" is just the carefully crafted PR image of a scumbag who behaves when the cameras are on him and continues to be a piece of **** once they are switched off.

You sound like me waiting for this damn Brady to go away. Of course, the bastard will play for another 7 years and I'll have likely run amok with rage by then. ****er.

I've said for years that the most irritating thing about Roethlisburger isn't that he plays for the Steelers. It's that he plays for the Steelers and is really freaking good. I like how he plays but will be stoked when he's gone and eager to see who his replacement will be.

I can't say I'm surprised he's considering retirement though. I don't watch too many Steeler games, but every one I see, even the first game of the season, feels like a Monday. He just never looks like he's having fun. Like it's just work to him nowadays. I can't help but wonder if getting so close to the Super Bowl is what's giving him pause versus if the Ravens had won the division. Would he have considered it as seriously if he wasn't as close to going out like Manning?

And while I don't expect him to retire this year, I feel pretty good if he does. Despite their losing record, I liked what I saw toward the end of the season from the Bengals. Fixing a few problems could easily propel them back to 2015 form. The Browns are still a couple years away from maybe being competitive, and with Flacco on decline and Smith gone, the Ravens have a lot of work to do. The Steelers haven't really impressed me this year despite how far they made it, and without Roethlisburger they'd impress me even less. Things could get interesting in the North.

Yeah, I don't see Brady going anywhere for a while. Four years at the absolute minimum unless something shifts and his play just suddenly falls off a cliff like Peyton Manning's did.

I've basically given up hope on the Bengals until Marvin Lewis leaves. I'm so burned out by this stale-ass team, even when it was clear they weren't making the post-season I couldn't be bothered to care. I don't know how guys like Whitworth deal with having to hear his same tired message over and over and over again for 10+ years.

They will never win a playoff game under that man. Take it to the bank.

Understandable, but I still believe in them even under Marvin. I feel that last year was proof that they could reach that level. Heck, they were most likely to skip the wild card round entirely if not for Andy's injury. And looking at the team I could see them get there again as soon as next year.

You have to wonder though if it's in the back of his mind going out on top like Manning did if he wins the Super Bowl. I don't see him doing it because he seems like the kind of guy who wants to break records and make sure no one catches him in Super Bowl appearances and wins.

I can't wait for the guy to retire so we can finally get some parity in the AFC.

The Bengals should already have a Super Bowl under their belts with how good their teams have been in recent years. However, I don't see how Bengals fans can have much confidence when Marvin Lewis is still your head coach and he hasn't delivered you guys one playoff victory in 15 years..You deserve better than that in my opinion.

Here is my opinion of Big Ben. Tons of literature is out there that states that he is a scumbag. I'd be ignorant to think that if enough people say it, there's truth there. Also, I'm alsl not 100% sure that he is indeed a rapist. Damned if you believe it and damned if you don't dependjng on who you ask. Big Ben is also a bit of a drama queen in interviews. That's clear.

With that said, he is the QB for my favorite sports team. He is fun to watch and is in the upper echelon of modern QBs. I personally can't wish ill will on my team because he is an assh***. There is nothing personal there. I wish all NFL players were a Larry Fitzgerald but it's not the case.

This reminds me of Tom Cruise. That man is the figurehead of Scientology and damn well knows all of the s*** they've been accused of doing. Tons of literature and celebrity confessions is too much to not ignore. But ultimately, I'm not Tom Cruise's friend or family member. I am one of the 89% of ths US population that isn't a celebrity. The man is in some great movies. He can act his ass off. I can't logically make sense of never watching a Tom Cruise movie again.

Some may say I am digging my head in the sand or actively living in ignorance but I disagree entirely. I have no horse in this race so why take a stance and not be entertained in exchange for the perception of a moral victory? That's just me.

If Zimmer took over as head coach like the front office should have, the AFC North could very well belong to Cinncinati. Their rosters have just been absolutely squandered. They were simply too talented to only have one playoff victory. As a Pittsburgh fan, I'm happy but as a fan of the game, it's sad.

Falcons take it 30-14.

Calling it now. I just have an inkling.

Mike Zimmer is precisely what the Bengals needed. But no, they let him walk - even after that embarrassing playoff loss against the Chargers in 2013 should have cost Marvin his job.

Once Marvin Lewis does decide to retire in 18 years, our next head coach will be defensive coordinator/human chipmunk Paul Guenther.

Things aren't looking so hot in Cincy.

If it weren'tfor Bill Belichick and Tom Brady being able to win when it seems like they shouldn't I'd have no doubts that the Falcons will whoop their asses on February 5th, but I still feel ike the Falcons wil win this game. If this was a Pats squad from a few of their past SB runs I might go with them but I really think the Falcons are better.

I didn't know that apparently, The Factory of Sadness is a real thing that a good amount of Cleveland fans are aware of. That's news to me.

*shakes head*
