This Colts fan knows Tomlin isn't half the coach he is made out to be. Still didn't stop the Steelers from going further then the Bengals, again.

Did anyone expect differently? Everyone knew this season would likely be a toss for Cincinnati while they adjusted to all the changes.

You said Pittsburgh hasn't done much better than Cincinnati. I just told you what they did.

I love your originality here. Did you come up with it yourself?
Nope, but your team did.

Who's salty? I know you're trying to irritate but it's not working. Just stating some facts that Pittsburgh fans like to ignore.
What multiple facts did you state were ignored?

:o

I'd say I'm not nearly as critical as Matt is when it comes to Tomlin (though I agree with a good chunk of what he says) but my opinion lines up exactly with Colin Cowherd's view.

I've never been a Tomlin apologist but I do think Bradshaw and Matt are being a bit too hard on the guy. Yes, he inherited any coach's wet dream (a stacked team that has a recent Super Bowl win with a franchise QB) and you can argue that Super Bowl 43 was more Cowher's team than Tomlin's. But you have to also give credit where credit is due; Tomlin has never had a losing season, his Steelers teams typically make the playoffs and have had postseason success, even if it's not as much as Harbaugh's or whomever's, he's at least partially responsible for drafting some of the best players in the game like Bell and Brown, and the only leftover from the Cowher era is Ben. So whole the sports media might like to ******e him over everything he does, I still would say that overall he's a good coach and fans of most teams would be happy with the guy; it's just that Steelers fans have been spoiled with the Greatest Coach of All Time (Chuck Noll) and one of the greatest ever (Cowher) so unless Tomlin delivers multiple Super Bowl wins, he'll always been seen as an underachiever (even though Cowher only has one SB win).

Granted, I don't like some of the dumb things he does like having Ben play late in a game that's already won. And this Porter fiasco... I can't say I'm surprised, but it's not like Tomlin was there with him while he was getting in a bar fight or whatever. But anyway, overall, I think Tomlin is a good, if heavily overrated coach.

I just love how loud he gets during interviews. If there was ever a man who speaks purely through bellowing, Mike Tomlin is it.

He does deliver those cliche statements perfectly, though.

Is there really anything you're hoping to gain from doing nothing but insulting the Bengals? We've both been here years. I'd hoped that you'd at least be a little mature and have an adult conversation by now. I'd hope you have at least a little depth to your ability to talk sports.

Matt said:
Hey now, see my posts on the past few pages before grouping all Steelers fans together as Tomlin apologists.

You're right. I ignorantly spoke in absolutes and know better than that. My apologies.

Are you a player on the Bengals? It's sports banter.

And you completely ignored DarthSkywalker's three or four digs at your team. If you're going to be on a moral high horse, at least be fair.

:hehe:

I agree with that. Luckily the reports said that Roethlisberger's injury is not bad at all even though a walking boot is one hell of a precaution for nothing. I'm guessing the Joey Porter news is definitely not helping things.

This is why I believe Matt Ryan deserves the MVP award over Aaron Rodgers and it'd be a crime if it was reversed. Matt Ryan throughout the season has been doing what Aaron Rodgers did in the last few weeks. And Atlanta has gotten a better overall record with what seems like a worse defense.

Only way Seahawks or Packers beat Falcons is if they score over 35 points because I don't think any team in the NFL can stop ATLs O. Seahawks have no chance. Packers do if Rodgers carries on the way he has recently.

I like how Meryl Streep just bashed the crap out of sports fans last night in her acceptance speech. What an old hag.

Because you were the one who started it. And I don't care about banter. But it's literally all you do. You specifically offer no conversation when I come in outside of the same tired line. I've mostly given up coming here anymore because it's not even fun conversation anymore. You're just tedious.

LOL

DarthSkywalker joked your team first but now I wish I was the first one to do it. Not one soul in this thread as ever insulted you, just your team. You are just being so salty. Hahaha, and I love that you are singling me out.

Insults? I thought the idea was friendly banter revolving around making fun of each others team and favorite players? Hobbit just makes it more fun because he seems to take it really seriously.

She didnt bash sports fans at all. All she said was if there were no actors on TV all you could watch is football and MMA, and MMA isnt an "art." (it's not)

Also, you take things weirdly personal. :loco:

Making a comment that the only thing left for entertainment in the US will be sports if Trump's administration succeeds in kicking out outsiders and foreigners isn't "bashing the crap out of sports fans." Thin-skinned much?

Just as I suspected; Trump supporters are coming out in droves this week, calling the most celebrated actress of all time as an overrated hack (or an old hag).

Let me put it to you this way. If you have a problem with celebrities shooting their mouths off about politics then maybe you shouldn't have elected a reality TV star for president who made his mark on the political spectrum by shooting his mouth off.

Weird that she lumped in MMA with her speech against xenophobia when MMA is composed of different fighting styles from various cultures and that MMA fighters come from all over the world.

As a Jets fan I'm still looking for a quarterback. I sometimes wonder if A.J. McCarron is worth pursuing. There's not much out there.

So the Jaguars have made the most Jaguars decision of all time by hiring Doug Marrone as HC :lmao:

He's an odd choice since I believe he's mediocre at best, but I also feel he never got the chance to prove himself when the whole ordeal in Buffalo went sideways. He's one of two coaches in the last 17 years to get the Bills to a 9 win season. From what I heard he left because he thought he was getting the Jets job.

I feel this could go either way. I honestly don't expect the Jaguars to suddenly contend in the AFC, but I also don't expect them to be as terrible as they usually are. Time will tell.

I will always be grateful to the Jaguars organization for letting go Tom Coughlin and letting the Giants provide the man with a legit roster lol

My guess is he was the only coach who was willing to work with Bortles.
