2016 Primaries and Caucuses Thread - Part 1

I can actually see Hillary getting dreadlocks, if abruptly lapsing into a Southern accent isn't enough to endear her to black audiences.

So this is our general election:

Whoever wins... We lose.

:hehe:

Hillary picked up 2 more superdelegates bringing her to 522. Bernie picked up none and is still at 39.

I really don't understand what happened with Kasich. Yesterday he vowed to soldier on, as of this morning he was still tweeting about being the only hope to stop Trump. So what the heck happened?

They realized it was a fool's errand. Real life isn't like fiction, where both he and Cruz would've gone to the end for dramatic effect. The only thing stopping Trump now is Hilary. I know, right.

Trump will have a whole month to essentially attack Crooked Hillary with her attention divided in two places she won't be able to retaliate at 100%.

Not only that but Trump has already started laying down his ground game today in all 50 states.

This one free month will be pivotal when we look back in retrospect.

Now if only Sanders would do the same..

reality happened. :o

I read that he was basically told by his financial backers that they no longer saw a point to spending more money on him and were deciding to spend their money on other candidates.

;)

The fight continues. The lobbyist, corrupt politicians and other globalist have merely moved their funds to keep this NeverTrump thing going. It hasn't ended.

Who? Trump? Hillary? There's no one left to spend it on.

They all could have at least waited to just one more primary to see how things went with only one opponent to Trump.

Best believe a bunch of these special interest and globalist will fund Hillary to defeat Trump. Hell some of the same folks are already funding her Super PAC's and other groups supporting her.

The enemy of my enemy is soon becoming the modus operandi.

The Party told him to drop out. They realize that there is not going to be a contested convention and that Trump is going to hit the magic number. They could continue to push against it and force a civil war in the party or tell their man, Kasich, to get out so they can exploit the civil war in the Democratic Party. Kasich is a company man so he picked the latter.

Wonder if Kasich as VP could be in the cards.

Winning Ohio and moderates, in general, would really help Trump.

I just saw an interview from earlier today where Trump said himself that he'd be very open to putting Kasich on his ticket, and that even if he wasn't his VP he could still be an asset for him to win Ohio.

So it seems like it could very well be Kasich as VP, if he is willing to hitch himself to the Trump cart.

I'm guessing Christie and Carson would be Trump's pick for Attorney General and Surgeon General.

Kasich as VP is a dangerous proposition for Trump; Trump should realize that dems and reps would just be itching for a chance to impeach Trump and both sides of the Aisle would probably prefer Kasich

Sanders would be completely castrated inside a Clinton Administration. He would become a shell of his former self.
noting other than Sec of State would be worthwhile
Plus his followers would be crushed to see him become Hillary's personal stooge.
This

If Warren dropped into this thing, I'd vote for her. The main problem with that being Massachusetts' GOP governor would select her replacement.
It wouldn't be worth it for the VP spot but it would be if she became the compromise candidate that would unify the party and build good will going into November

They're saying on CNN that he is considering the running mate role.

I'm starting to suspect you do not know much on which you speak. Why would SecState be "worthwhile" to Sanders? He has never (nor has he ever attempted to) sat on the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Armed Services Committee, or the Intelligence Committee (or any of the subcommittees associated with them). He has yet to give a speech exclusively on foreign policy, despite running for President of the United States. In the debates he got crushed on foreign policy. And let's not forget that embarrassing New York Daily News interview. Why do you think SecState would be "worthwhile" to him? It seems like you just picked the most well known cabinet position and went with it. Further, anyone who knows anything about Sanders's time in Congress knows that diplomacy is not his strong suit.Sanders has neither the credentials, nor the desire, nor the skill set to serve as SecState.

If anything, Treasury Secretary would appeal to him more than VP or any other appointment. But there is no way Clinton appoints him as the cabinet member in control of her economy. He would never get through a Senate approval for Treasury Secretary. The only cabinet appointment that really makes sense for him is Labor Secretary. MAYBE Health and Human Services. But he would consider himself above either of those.

He is "considering it." The problem is, I really doubt Clinton is. After all, all of these reports are coming from within his camp. There is nothing to indicate that Clinton is considering him (and it really doesn't make sense for her to do so) other than his own camp's attempt to stir up some buzz.

I could see him getting MAYBE.... HUD, or Sec. of Labor....other than that....I don't see her putting him anywhere near major money decisions. He
