The 2012 Maine and Nevada Caucuses

I know Maine isn't the biggest state but what an embarrassing night in general for the GOP. I think about a grand total of 5500 total voters

The Maine Caucuses have always been a small scale event. The 2008 Maine Caucuses had 5,333 votes for the GOP side and 3,476 votes for the Democratic side. This year's Maine Caucuses already have over 5,500 votes (up from 2008) with 5% still needing to report in.

Isn't there like close to 1.5M people in the state? You think they could get closer to 20-25k with a population that large. I guess with states like Iowa and NH when it gets so much media attention people really get into it, while it gets treated like an afterthought when it gets little publicity.

I'm a little surprised by such a low turnout and by the fact that Mr. Romney only managed to beat Ron Paul by three points.

I really wouldn't call it a low turnout when this year's caucus surpassed both the GOP and Democratic caucus in 2008. The Maine caucus is an incredibly small event to begin with. Which is kinda ********.

It's beautiful to see Ron Paul is so close to Romney in some states, but he needs to do better in the bigger and more conservative ones to make a true impact. At this point he is the only candidate with any remote sense of hope who can save the US from eventual default.

I thought you were on the Ron Paul train?

He won't get nomination or run for 3rd Party, and I also like Gary Johnson. Now course Gary is bring sued...his campaign owes money to a former campaign fundraiser guy...who seems to only be collecting cause Gary is Libertarian now. But Anyhoo, Gary will most likely get LP Nom. I rather vote for him than write in Ron Paul.

There is a cross section of libertarians who don't like Gary Johnson within that party. And Johnson's finance is a mess. The alternative candidate Bill Stills comes across as very aspergy.

Gary Johnson does nothing but win Straw Polls though. Won the Manhateen(sp?) Straw Poll in NY. Last weekend won Florida LP straw poll. 2 LP straw's he has won this year.

He is unwilling to explicitly state he will prosecute bankers for fraud. A lot of Libertarians want that. And there are actual evidence and grounds.

Fraud is not the same as teH regulation. This is why you hear Paul talk about enforcing Fraud laws as well. It's one of the few things that is the government job. I also want to point out, there are fewer banking fraud convictions during the Obama administration than Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II.

The banks have everything to do with the economy, in liquidity and money velocity.

Wow that looks like some pretty blatant incompetency, or even worse fraud. How do you practically ignore 3 counties entire votes?

Oh noes, teh NWO.

But no, we both know no President Canidate is gonna be taking seriously if he says that about the banks. I'll still vote for GJ. Him and Paul are good, but flawed men. But no man is perfect, we all have our flaws.

But still I have barely heard this brought up on the news. This has so much potential to be a larger story, even larger than Iowa.

Maddow on it again. Seems like she is not letting it go.

This is disgraceful. I'm not a Ron Paul fan by any means but this makes me sick. I'm glad Rachel keeps on pushing this.
