I know that PI is the only bad call that got any attention, but before it the Saints actually received zero calls until the 3rd quarter, even with a face mask against Goff that wasn't called. The no call obviously got the biggest focus, but to say that the officials favored the Rams is clearly false. And before the game, a lot of Rams fans tried a petition against the head ref because Rams were 0-8 when he was officiating.

BTW, the Saints got the ball in OT like the Pats, but Brees threw the INT. I guess the refs were responsible for that too.

Lol i dunno
As a fan of one of their division rivals, the game last night was extremely predictable
The chiefs shoulda kneeled the ball when they were down at the 2... giving Brady 2 minutes to come back was a dumb f***in idea

I get that the result may be predictable, but that was an exciting game. That was just 2 teams throwing knockout hay makers at one another, and it was great. Largely Patriots Super Bowls are decided by about 3 or 4 points (only last years was decided by more). So I am expecting a close and exciting game out of the Super Bowl. Even if I would agree, it likely ends with the Patriots winning. But it's more fun watching a 3ish point football game than it is watching the Warriors win by 20 in the Finals.

It's not an issue of favoritism. I never said the refs favored the Rams. But, they benefit ted from what was the worst call. Was that missed facemask you're referencing bad? Sure, but even if they get a TD there, there is a lot more game left. That PI call WAS the game at that moment. It's miles different.

With 11 seconds...they should have taken another shot at the endzone, B4 kicking the game tying FG.

Again, not all missed calls are equal. You can keep trying to make it 1:1, but it isn't. Every game has missed calls, but a missed facemask or something at game speed is one thing. You cannot expect refs to be 100% perfect. You're not changing my mind. This was BLATANT. The Saints should be in the Super Bowl. Not the Rams. Myself and plenty of others shall view them as paper champions of the NFC. Even the head of the officiating committee admitted this to Sean Payton.

I can only hope penalties become reviewable after this debacle. There is no reason you should not be allowed to challenge or review a penalty or non-penalty. Not when it can effect a game like that. But it sucks 1 team has to be screwed over for this conversation to finally happen. You cannot have championships and legacies determined by garbage calls like that. This needs fixed NOW. Last thing I would ever want to see is someone lose a Super Bowl on a blown call like this. Especially when we have the technology to prevent this.

I'm not saying Rams fans should apologize for their team winning the game. Go and support your team. But what I am saying is how that game played out cannot allow me in good faith to be happy for the Rams should they hoist the Lombardi trophy. I had no rooting interest in this game. I am a Browns fan. I have no loyalty for or against either the Saints or Rams. But as someone who likes watching great football, that moment tarnished the whole game for me, and the Super Bowl to a certain extent. Because again, I don't feel like I should be watching the game that I am being given. It feels cheapened to an extent for me. Could you picture how you would feel if the reverse happened? I bet you would not be justifying the refs blowing that call if this happened to the Rams instead, and I would be equally mad if the Rams had lost this same way.

The whole thing sucks all around, and the NFL needs to fix this in the future.

Wow I'm so glad I get to watch the Patriots vs the NFC again. I wonder who the Patriots will play in the Super Bowl next year.

I love the Pats... they are my second favourite team behind my Niners...
But man, had the Chiefs won, I would have collected $692 from a pool I'm in...
Now I get nothing...
Dammit.

As much as I'd rather not root for the Patriots, I don't dislike them as much as many people do. I'm weird though because I stopped disliking them after that Super Bowl against the Seahawks. Yeah, it effin sucked for my team and I felt like crap for days, but they showed Brady on the sidelines before "the play" and he looked absolutely heartbroken. Then I saw his reaction to the interception.

*Hidden just so people that dislike Brady don't have to look at him*

I dunno. I just didn't dislike him after that.

Well anyway I'm rooting for the Patriots and the teams I root for are 9-1 in the last 10 Super Bowls, so we'll see what happens.

Nah I don't hate them either, it's just getting old that they're always there.
NFL is supposed to be a pretty even playing field, but statistically it's pretty obvious that there are a small handful of teams that are always better than others. Patriots being the biggest example of that.

It is amazing how in an era built on the promise of "parity" that the Patriots continue to win every year. It shows how much of an illusion that truly is.

Well, there's more parity in the NFC...3QBs & a LB dominated the AFC, since the Raiders was last in the SB.

Speaking of the Raiders, didn't Mr. Gruden say his phone was ringing off the hook for people who want to come to the Raiders? At least Gruden is good for a sound bite!

I think since the start of 2000, only the Detroit Lions, Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings out of the NFC haven't played in the Super Bowl. Compare that to the AFC who's fielded like 6 teams since 2000.

The NFC is where the parity is while the AFC is top-heavy with perennial frontrunners and the rest is teams that get hot for a year or two. It's not the Patriots' fault that they play in a division with three other teams that can't seem to figure things out.

An acquaintance of mine was recently saying the same thing, how the patriots have dominated their division for the better part of almost 2 decades, saying it shows how well run they are.

I said it also shows that the Dolphins, Bills and Jets are three of the most badly operated teams in the league.

It's almost like they're gifted 4-5 wins every year just because they play in one of the worst divisions in the NFL.

In a way I'm glad that the PI call against the Saints wasn't called since now all the attention toward officiating is coming full circle. The refs have been awful in the past few years and now they're under greater pressure to make the right calls.

I hope the league steps in and adjusts some stuff so everything on that field is called fairly.

4 Refs in that game was reported native southern Californians
