The flaws really are over blown... My biggest problem with the movie is how a large chunk of the first act is really sloppy and choppy.. I have small nitpicks from then on but if the first act would have been on par with the 2nd and 3rd act is really think this would've been a great movie.

If I had to make a choice, I'd choose to watch 2 1/2 hours worth of TSSM episodes over any one of the Spidey movies.

Seriously, I've been reading the comics and it's so much closer than any movie... sure there are some differences but really... it's perfect. Even the villain order is pretty similar...

Too cheesy- ye-no... There's what, like 2/3 scenes of complete cheese? It least it wasn't 4 minutes of Peter walking to Raindrops on My Head, or pelvic thrusting to James Brown...
Harry's arc is rushed- Because it kinda had to be? Harry was dying, wouldn't you take quick action too, reguardless of what it was.
Peter is nothing like the comics- he does to me.. I like the confidence he has after the spider bite.. Just like in the comics. He goes from a shy nerdy kid with no confidence to just a nerdy kid.. Unlike Rami where after the spider bite he goes from a shy nerdy kid with no confidence.. To a shy nerdy kid with no confidence.

It's not even that it is 'close' to the comics that makes the series so good. There's plenty of stuff in there that was either changed or taken from other sources besides the 616 universe. Though much of what we see is 616. There's plenty of stuff out of order too and we also see characters like Harry, Gwen, etc. meet Peter in HS rather than in college.

Weisman just had the perfect formula for creating the show and he STUCK to it. He researched each character and wrote them into the script to show their core essence--what makes that character important to the mythos. His 5-C method worked like a charm. Classic, Contemporary, Cohesive, Coherent, and iConic. He made the messy timeline of continuity much smoother. There's a lot of love that went into making this show, even small things like breaking up the episodes into three-part story arcs that are named after and organized by class subjects.
