War of the Worlds is a very good Spielberg blockbuster, but I'm warning ya, Tom Cruise's kids in the film are annoying as hell.

Shutter Island is one great psychological thriller, and the Departed is one good f***ing crime movie from Scorsese.

Have fun. :oldrazz:

I know, that's why I feel like I've lived under a rock for not having watched it :funny: It's one of the best films of our generation, so I'm sure I'll like it. I'll keep the kids in mind!

Yeah, I could tell by Shutter Island's trailer that I should go in prepared. However, I love movies like that so I look forward to it. The Departed is a film my dad recommended to me a while ago, but I never got around to it for some reason.

I'll let you know when I've seen them all. Thanks again!

I thought Easy A was great while Gangster Squad was good-alright. But yeah...Emma was gorgeous as hell with that dress :hrt:

I would kill for a game that passes on the 40s-60s with Emma voicing and appearence. Something like LA Noire :hubba

Maybe I just dig those kinds of films, so I guess it comes down to preference. But yes, Andrew Garfield is one lucky son of a gun...that's all I'll say :oldrazz:

Nice! I, on the other hand, would kill for another movie like that :)

I've never heard anybody call War of the Worlds the best film of our generation.:shr:

Maybe I slightly exaggerated, but I remember it was one of those films that people couldn't stop talking about when it came out.

You know, one of those films generally everyone has seen.

But me :csad:

So I just finished two movies, but they weren't any of the ones you all recommended :funny:

A certain someone made me watch Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Spectacular Now.

But not to worry, I have the whole weekend ahead of me :)

Crazy, Stupid, Love is so good.

Anything having to do with a love story even in name only is off my radar.
I hate romance stories.

it's good to be back :)

what's wrong with a little bit of love?
I don't have a problem with a little love, but...

I have to be honest with ya, Aziz - that's ridiculously closed minded.
*sigh*

Love stories often go like this:
Guy and gal meet, they have to argue
Guy and gal like each other, but one of them dates the another person
One person goes to the other, they kiss and make out, and shortly they wake up after a night of sex
Then they break up
Then back together, with a stupid forced "I love you" and end kiss

There are different formulas, but they still suck, and good values are lost in these stories.

Some stories are about someone falling in love with another, ready to get married, but during engagement one of them meets another person, they dump the one they want to get married to.

Ugh, I don't like stories championing this kind of relationships, they are fragile and easily broken, soooo disturbing.

Blue Valentine.

Watch it.

Romance in movies doesn't mean they'll turn out bad. I think you just happen to have stumbeled onto the ****** ones.

Edit: Brokeback Mountain is an excellent film about love, as well. It's as far away from formula as one gets.

if you have a problem with that then you'll hate how animes handle them especially with tons of girls with the same personalities and traits falling in love with this regular guy especially if it's just for a good 3 minutes or 1 second

I hate how a lot of anime handle girls, action anime to be specific.

Girl is a monster, when she is a damsel in distress she needs that guy she always hits to save her from the peril she's in, the way she can give the hero of the story a black eye and a few bruises in one fight you'd expect her to be able to save herself.

WTF!?!

I have a feeling you don't know Aziz very well... :P

Kill Your Darlings is a great example of a movie where the romance isn't the main thing.

it's the first time i've seen a crippled tsundere. i don't hate her character that much but she is kinda dumb. heck, she's who i wish shu would be there for shu instead of inori since she does seem like a character i like especially with her chemistry with shu.

I might check some of his videos

please do. they're hilarious and quite interesting. heck, be sure to see his SAO videos as well. they're the most entertaining especially his darker than black season 2 video

Sure thing

okay, evr notice how each girls fall in love the the protagonist especially with how they first met with just over 3 secfonds?

ever get bothered hby the fact that little kids are part of the harem and also more disturbingly in fanservice? kinda get creeped out with how japan thinks of their ideas.
