So... the AoU trailer was pretty cool.

Man, does it look darker than the first movie or what?

I dont mind a darker Avengers film.
Only thing I'm not sold on is Ultrons' face. He just looks too human for a robot trying to kill humanity.

Agreed.

The amount people are saying ASM2 was better than ASM makes me feel weird.

What do you mean? It sure semeds like a lot more people like asm1 better then asm2. I would say form looking on hear that 70% think that asm1 is better then asm2. But I disagree big time asm2 is better in ever way then asm1.

As well as my Boys are playing right now, I'm not gonna allow myself to get a swell head. There's still plenty of time left in the season and things can change. I'm enjoying it right now though and it feels good to be a fan. I certainly don't think Monday is a 'sure' thing by any means. The Cowboys and Redskins always play each other tough--the win-loss record means nothing when they play. I'm expecting a close match-up.

I can see why you would say that. The NFL can be quite tricky to predict and a lot of teams come out of nowhere, or disappear after playing well. However, I do think this is finally the year where the Cowboys have the most potential to get over their December woes.

That is true, but I would firmly believe this match would be close if we were being led by a healthy RG3. I just can't see McCoy getting the job done, especially on the road.

The worst part for me, is only owning a Steve Smith jersey. Tbh though I was sorta pulling for the Ravens just because of Steve Smith. I really felt like he was done wrong. I didn't watch the game though. I refused.

If you want a bad fan experience to cheer you up, let me know. I've got quite the story.

I noticed that they had pulled Cousins during their game against the Titans. Has it been confirmed that McCoy will start? I didn't see the game last week, was Cousins pulled due to injury or bad playmaking?

The human look is what makes him menacing, IMO. Leave the generic evil glowing red robot faces to his minions.

Cosuins hasn't been playing well. He's been a turnover machine for the Redskins and haven't played up to snuff. It's possible that both Redskins QBs are overhyped.

Also please spend 5 seconds to click and vote for me in the deathmatch in the community boards. I could use all the help I can.

The expectations for this film are through the roof now. That's both a great thing and a bad thing.

I don't know, it just feels like I've heard most reviews saying ASM2 is better than ASM1.

Are you dyslectic, by the way? I'm genuinely wondering.

Very true.

I don't mind it being darker, either. As long as it doesn't end up taking itself too seriously. *ahemcap2*

Anyway, yeah, I do agree about Ultron looking a little too... Firendly.

Can't wait for AOU now. Looks so badass. I hope it lives up to the Hype.

If people think it falls short in any way compared to the first one, there's going to be hell. Remember TDKR and the critics getting death threats for middling reviews?

Kirk's performance was putrid. He had a fumble in the first quarter, I believe, and then he followed it with a terrible interception. It wasn't even close. It literally looked like he threw the ball to the defense.

McCoy has been taking all of the starting reps in practice this week, so it looks like he will be the starter. Also, there's a rumor that Griffin might be ready to go for Monday, but I think it's meant to be a distraction for the Cowboys.

While I prefer ASM2 to ASM, ASM defo got more unfair criticism as (most) of the criticism I've seen was because it re-trended the origin 10 years after SM1.

I feel like CBMs should be judged as movies. Ignore the source material and past adaptations, just judge them as they are.

Totally respect your opinion, and yeah, ASM1 got **** on mostly because of it being a reboot. It's nowhere near as mediocre/poor as some people make it out to be - it just isn't.

They kinda should, and if one were to actually judge a CBM based on source material, I think it's necessary to realize that there will be and have been multiple versions of the characters and their stories.

I think some people have trouble understanding that.

Extremely. The trailer was freaking awesome, and has me even more hyped.

I don't really like the moving face on Ultron though, but other than that... I'm sold.

How about you, man?

The AOU teaser was meh for me. I did not buy Ultron as a villain one bit. Also, the look of the new characters was pretty disappointing imo.

However, this is just a teaser. The actual movie may be awesome.

Yeah, I liked it. The Ultron stuff was cool as hell, except for him looking a little too friendly.

Yeah, I'd seen that Cousins was indeed not playing too well the past couple of games but I wasn't sure if he was hurt or not. If Griffin is not taking snaps in practice, it's highly unlikely that he would be given the green light for the game. I'm sure his mind is capable of handling the effort but he hasn't done any practicing for what, like 4 weeks or more, so that's gonna be a chunk of rust he'd need to polish before entering a game. Especially a divisional game against a hot opponent. I'd be really surprised to see RGIII suit up.

Just wanted to add my thoughts.

I am all for adaptations. I don't think a page for page remake of the comics is something that would lend itself well for a movie. I too think CBMs should be judged on their own merits and not as to how well they mimic or copy the source.

I can understand when fans of the source material are so tied to it that when something new and different comes along they react harshly or defensively. We all have our emotional ties to these stories or characters and so becoming attached to them in one way or another makes sense. And that's fine. Sometimes though, I think decisions about certain elements can go 'overboard' based on the aforementioned emotional ties and cause people to miss out on some great stuff cause they're not open to the changes.

My main issue though is when a CBM completely disregards the comic material in an effort to create something that ruins the original spirit or verisimilitude. Making changes is ok but it's when those changes are made in a effort simply to 'make the story work' or those changes come off as contrived, is when I usually don't like them. It has this fake appeal that is easily recognizeable. I prefer changes that create interesting twists or turns in the mythos that support a new direction or storytelling in a way that updates the original stories for the modern era--when the quality remains intact and the changes made create some genuine excitement.

Yeah, I think it's just last minute bluffing by Gruden and company. I was listening to ESPN 980 last week, and Chris Cooley reported that Griffin wasn't putting any weight on his ankle on the sideline of the Redskins/Titans game. He knows the mess that Shanahan caused with rushing Griffin's injury, so he's definitely not going to put him out there like that. I recall even a couple weeks ago that Gruden said he won't play "Any time in the near future." I must say, he's really been sticking it to Griffin and the rest of the team, unlike Shanahan.

That crap that Shanahan pulled with Griffin still pisses me off. You see your rookie QB is clearly limping and in terrible shape, and you keep him in. And Griffin isn't doing his health any favors by playing stupidly and not sliding. It was bad decisions by both coaching and Griffin that had undone them and Gruden understands that.

It definitely was a combination of both. Griffin had a great slide, ironically, a few plays before he got injured against the Jaguars. However, overall he has certainly put himself in dangerous positions.

As I've mentioned on the Sports boards, it's very hard for Skins fan to swallow when they see Wilson and Luck be so successful. The Seahawks and Colts never had to put up with the atrocious QB's we've had to. Yet, when we finally get our guy, this is what comes of it.

Very tough to be a Skins fan these days.
