I saw the movie yesterday, and also really liked it.

The science was sound. The human component excellent. Some tense moments, and a good score from Zimmer. I am going to see it again.

Brand was the best character. :awesome:

You came to mind when I saw Hathaway :funny:

Must have been a treat to see her. I sure hope Emma Stone can be in a nearly three hour film someday, especially with that much screen time.

Did your butt not go to sleep? :o

:funny:

I can't imagine anyone/anything being asleep during this film.

I've always enjoyed Nolan's movies. He does some great work and I'm looking forward to Interstellar. Probably won't see that until next week though cause I'm gonna see Big Hero 6 in a few days.

You've got great taste as well, UWH, so I'm interested in your opinion on the film.

I may sound like I'm exaggerating, but I'm not.

I was mind blown by this film. For this kind of material to not be appreciated is beyond me, and I feel like it's a shame that movies of such brilliance across the board get lost among light-hearted flicks that people can digest more easily.

I'm pretty big on science and this movie captured a plethora of topics. Even a couple theories, that have yet to be proven, were shown onscreen as most astrophysicists predict their outcomes to be today. I wondered throughout the movie how so much probably had to be taught to some of the actors in order for them to fluidly deliver the dialogue.

With that being said, while it is a Sci-Fi movie, there is nothing that would be blatantly obvious to the general audience as inconsistent to our universe, as is the case with most Sci-Fi films.

Hell, even Smithsonian.com published this article on Thursday:

"Why 'Interstellar' Belongs in the Pantheon of the Best 'Realistic' Science Fiction Films."
http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smith...istic-science-fiction-films-180953261/?no-ist

I understand if you don't like films related to science or covering such topics. But, if this movie fits your niche, I think the hardline criticism it could get is for very minuscule reasons.

Great ****ing post, W/.

And I agree, it's probably because of it not being as easily "digested" as people wanted/expected it to be.

Honestly, I can sort of appreciate that, though, seeing as the film seems to have revealed that a lot of people aren't ready for (removes gloves) a film that actually requires them to think a little.

Edit: Interstellar was torture for my bladder, but it was worth it.

Interstellar looks good, but I'll probably wait until it comes out on blu-ray to see it.

Thank you sir :toth

Exactly. But it bothers me, to an extent, that movies that try to expand our imagination and challenge our way of thinking beyond the parameters of the world we live in, don't generate much interest. Unless, of course, you feature a cast with the likes of McConaughey and Hathaway.

In that case, I hope you have a nice big screen at home to enjoy it on!

Dunno, I might. Fancy going to see Nightcrawler. Looks quite cool. Might see it this weekend :D

See both :oldrazz:

(Nightcrawler looks awesome, too)

I'm not a fan of Jake G (have NO idea how to spell his second name :funny: ) but it looks really good.

I still remember seeing him for the first time as a teenager in The Day After Tomorrow, and I've been a fan ever since.

Some people want to see him as the next Peter Parker as well.

Saw him in Zodiac (cause of RDJ). He's cool and all but I don't fuss over him. But yeah, seeing the trailer for Nightcrawler, he looks totally crazy in it and I so wanna see it.

He'd be a cool Peter I think. He tends to play smart/geeky characters.

Haven't seen that movie, but I've heard it's quite good. It's funny, The Day After Tomorrow seemed so far fetched at the time, but so much information about climate change has surfaced in the last decade alone.

I can see it, too. However, I think they would have to tailor his image quite a bit, as he would look least like the Peter from the comics, compared to Garfield and Maguire.

I think people just hate Hathaway and McConaughey because everyone seems to and they're too lazy to actually examine their skills as actors and how they actually are as people. Same with Jared Leto, I just don't understand it. Maybe it's more fun to hate them? (Leto should be good as Joker by the way)

Maybe some people hate MConaughey because they haven't seen anything he was good in? Like, IIRC... he used to be pretty ******. Now he's a great actor.

He's always been great, he was just slumming in crap like Failure to Launch and Fools Gold.

Interstellar is just...wow. I recommend that you all see it in IMAX.

It might be a long ass movie, but every sequence is just dazzling.

Jake Gyllenhaal was my first mancrush.

I'll be catching Nightcrawler as soon as possible.

That's great, man.

How'd you rate it?

I still think if Jake Gyllenhaal was to play any comic book character, he's Hulk material.

I'm glad you liked it!

I was afraid our enthusiasm of it in this thread might drive up your expectations to the point where you would come away not enjoying it :funny:

9.5/10. Second best film of the year behind Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Nah man, it was awesome.

On another note, the biggest holy s*** moment was when [BLACKOUT]Dr.Mann blows up. [/BLACKOUT]

I'm in the mood of watching all the Star Wars movies again.

Yes, even quite possibly episodes 1 and 2. :o

I did that the other day. I love Star Wars. 1 and 2 arent the greatest, but I sort of have a fondness for them. Big part of my childhood. I remember being really small when 1 came out and I used to get the light saber spoons out of my cereal. If anything, Obi Wan is worth watching in those movies if you cant find any other reason to watch them. People sh** on theose movies for using to much greenscreen but I watched a behind the scenes, and its actually wayyy less then people think. That being said, I prefer the original trilogy by a lanslide although Revenge of the Sith is on par imo. Almost at least.
