Football is an interesting topic to be discussing in a Spidey thread.
Flash Thompson was a football star in high school, and he's one of Peter Parker's best friends.
Of course it's a fitting topic.

I plan on watching the Theory of Everything soon, heard great things about the leads. I missed Nightcrawler in theaters but I'm very excited to see that as well. I hear Gyllenhaal goes absolutely nuts in it.

And Interview was one of the best comedies of the year, I watched it 3 times since I bought it (And that ending was nothing short of iconic!)

Franco was way too f***ing awesome in it.

Oh yeah! Dave Skylark rivals Ron Burgundy. Franco's always been a comedy actor in my mind, Freaks and Geeks is one of my favorite shows ever. I'm not a fan of his dramatic roles, It just doesn't feel like his niche to me

(He was great in Planet of the Apes though)

Gyllenhaal is a really underrated actor. So glad he's getting positive attention. Talent runs in that family.

Very underrated indeed.

Gyllenhaal had a huge say in the direction of the movie as well. I think he had been waiting for this kind of role.

I was very much impressed by Felicity Jones. She certainly showed more range than I thought she had in her. I had no idea who Eddie Redmayne is, but he too absolutely knocked his role out of the park. They deserve a lot more credit than they're getting right now.

As for Gyllenhaal, he made me forget he was playing a character in that film. I'll let you see the rest for yourself.

The Interview is definitely a film I can see again! I totally agree on the ending. Although, it's a shame that the numbers for the movie have been so negatively impacted by the hacks. This was going to be a knockout at the BO.

WGP, have you seen the Hobbit films yet?

It's weird seeing him in serious roles, but I think he's a good actor. He was fine as Harry in Spider-Man and as Dr. Rodman in Planet of the Apes. It's clear though that he's better at making us laugh.

What did you think of it?

It's certainly not on par with LOTR, but it's good enough to warrant me wanting to see the sequels.

I'm not crazy about it, but I'm curious. I guess that's a good way to put it.

Ah, I see. My personal opinion is that the best one is the second.

Anyways, you should join the playoff pool thing if you haven't. It's fun.

Your opinions have yet to let me down, so I'll get on that soon.

It's funny you say that - I was just looking at that thread.

I'll put my name down now :yay:

I hate Franco with every fibre of my being... therefore, I will not be seeing The Interview.

It depends whether or not he knew the girl was 17, which I don't think he did.

Plus, it might have been a publicity stunt.

It sounded like it was to promote his indie film Palo Alto, which has a similar plot.

(I'm pretty sure it was, timing and context and obviousness of the messages all point to that)

Although I never saw it, yeah, that's something that was floating around as well.

The IG exchange was in April, and I believe the movie came out a month or so after that.

He admitted that it wasn't a promotion.

I think he's a very weird guy, regardless.

But he's frequently hilarious as well.

I tend to not believe these sort of things. Plus, it's weird how the girl's IG was removed shortly after.

I just don't think Franco, knowing his stardom, would go through with it. The guy has many options outside of girls who are underage.

Multiple stars have done it, why should we not believe Franco would do the same?

I guess because he doesn't really have a track record of additional shenanigans.

Damn. Now I really can't fail you with movie opinions. :o

Oh, and just to let you know, I was terrible at the predicting thing last year. I finished in the bottom three with like a 3-8 record. :oldrazz:

The Interview rocks!

Plus, James Franco is:
