The Avengers 3 things YOU WANT to see in the Avengers...

Caboose's #3 is my main worry with this film. As much as I have loved all their movies I do feel that, with the exception of TIH, they always hold back action-wise and don't go all out.

With this movie I feel they need to GO ALL OUT! Like UnkillableMick said, the action sequences in this movie need to make those of TF3 look like a student film. Viewers, both GA and MARVEL fans, cannot come out of this movie feeling that it is a set-up for a sequel. They cannot come out feeling let down after being set up for 4/5 films. MARVEL STUDIOS needs to GO ALL OUT and, when doing the sequels, then figure out how to top themselves; not hold back because they plan to go bigger in the sequel.

I agree, Marvel Studios films have decent action with a few good scenes sprinkled in but it does seems like the action could be so much better.

I sure hope that changes with the Avengers and Thor 2, Cap 2, and Iron Man 3.

MODOK just would not work on film. There are other characters to use.

Why not? MODOK could be really creepy if he's done right. That's why I love MODOK, he could either be a funny character or a creepy one. I prefer the funny one, but the creepy MODOK can be a great villain.

I'd love to see MODOK eventually make it into a movie, but I just don't see how he would work. I could be completely wrong, but I just can't picture how he would be portrayed without seemin ... Odd. It might work, though.

@ Kedrell

The time when Jabba the Hutt first appeared on film is IMO a different time from now with a different cinematic audience. Right now the GA has a very sensitive mentality to anything cheesy; people found the Hydra salute in CA:TFA cheesy. There was a time when that would have been perfectly acceptable. I think less in appearance and more in attitude might make MODOK work; really dread, evil, merciless....have him brutally killing and torturing people with his mental powers.

That's why I suggested making him disgusting. That would cut the cheese for sure. Make him look like something out of a sick horror movie and the cheese will melt away.

But isn't that what they essentially tried to do with Hector Hammond in GL? And IMO it fell flat.

@ Kedrell

You could be right. Sadly I doubt MARVEL studios will take a chance on MODOK in an MCU movie.

Especially after HH in GL.

1. The biggest action on movie history.
2. A great script
3. Everyone having their moment to shine.

HH was hardly much of a threatening presence. He was a deformed bozo, that's all. As long as they make MODOK a genuine threat then having him done up all disgusting and disturbing like should take care of the inherent cheesiness of a guy who's essentially a giant head. It's all in the execution, as always.

But just don't tell me it can't be done. The real question is whether they'd simply opt for a villain who's easier to achieve.

Another movie character that sorta gives a similar impression to me would be Baron Vladamir Harkonen from Dune. He was effectively disturbing as well.

I could take or leave MODOK but what I really want to see is a plot that involves AIM. But IMO he could work if he's really threatening, creepy, almost biomechanical, and operating behind the scenes, levitating around, shooting psionic beams and stuff. George Tarleton could just be a technician working for AIM and the bad guys in this first movie who then undergoes a transformation near the end when trying to deal with the cosmic cube. We see only the beginning of his transformation. He replaces the current leader of AIM after they're taken out by the Avengers. For the sequel he does all his dirty work with a hulk-size giant robot body that his floating head and tiny body can attach and detach itself from. He's a threatening, high-powered but slippery mastermind/second in command type character who always finds a way to escape and fight another day. The robot body might be able to channel his energy beams so he can project them from the body as well.

I would think that the cosmic cube being included screams the possibity of AIM and perhaps a MODOK cameo/easter egg.

I'm hoping for SHIELD vs. AIM(who are working with Loki, Skrulls or the other villains) and that AIM wants the cube, or gets a shard of it or whatever to work with.

The way I see it going is that the remnants of Hydra have now become AIM. Their organization and his origin are tied to the cube in a few ways.

From marvel wiki:
Average technician George Tarleton found his fate forever changed thanks to a random selection by his boss, the Scientist Supreme of A.I.M., who needed a unique, bio-engineered “living computer” in order to plumb the mysteries of the Cosmic Cube. Tarleton was subjected to hideous experiments, mutating his body into a massive-headed being possessing superhuman intelligence and extraordinary psionic powers, and the process drove him mad. Given the code-name MODOC ("Mobile Organism Designed Only for Computing"), Tarleton instead turned on his superiors, slaying them all and declaring himself Scientist Supreme. Moreover, he changed his name to MODOK, with the “K” standing now for “Killing.”

The bolded one needs that change baaaaaaad.

1 - Epic memorable mind blowing visually stunning fights.
2 - A great incredibly quotable script (and score).
3 - Liv Tyler (cause I loved TIH, and she definitely needs to be the tie to that movie, and cause I hate General Thunderbolt Ross in every incarnation, comic or movie, I don't care for him and wouldn't want him in "The Avengers").

Why hate Ross? That's like hating J.Jonah Jameson.

Its like hating Lex luthor.

Well it could be like that, only it's not. :woot:

You are supposed to hate him.

That must be the thing, I usually enjoy my villains, sometimes even more than the heroes, and I don't love to hate him, or I don't hate to hate him, I just rather not see him, I find him bland, and even when he's not, I don't enjoy it, it's a personal thing, I'm sure that some people find him incredibly cool, and they may be right, he's not just a great villain in my book (which coincidentally is called "The book of great villains").

1. Sharon Carter

2. "Avengers Assemble"

3. Thanos (at least a cameo)

1- To know who's the main villain of this movie soon
2- For them to release information if Loki will be the only villain of the movie
3- WHOS THE VILLAIN? IS IT ONLY LOKI? IS IT ALIENS? THANOS? PLEASE!!!!!!! INFORMATIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to see each Avenger taking out a horde of evil Skrulls one by one.

1. Thor and Hulk Fighting Side by Side/Back To Back
2. EPIC Score like Transformers (Say what you want about the Movie but I doubt you can Deny the score is amazing and memorable)
3. Like someone said Everyone needs their moment to shine. Even Coulson.

1) A Hulk that can hold a conversation

2) Thor and Loki showing a large variety of powers

3) Proof that Iron Man 1 wasn't just a fluke and that Marvel is capable of delivering both excellent characters and memorable action sequences. Not just one over the other.
