Well it has been confirmed that Spidey will be a foe himself but it hasn't been directy stated that he will be the fourth villain.

Well it has been confirmed that he only has a cameo, and a cameo usually means only one scene. So if he has a scene as a restaurant waiter then it kind of does confirm he's not Mysterio.

What? You lost me.

But if you're saying what I think you're saying, calling Peter the villian doesn't warrant saying there's a 4th villian. Much like how Nolan backtracked about 8 months ago saying the card at the end of Begins was just a nod and that they weren't going to be doing Joker because it was done in the original 89 Batman. They wouldn't spring something up like that unless it was to distract from something else.

Think about it, hype of a FOURTH villian for a couple of months, and all of a sudden, oh it's just Peter. No kidding, for the people who did guess it, it takes away from the story as much as people who couldn't guess it. Now we have a major part of the plot given away. Keep in mind alot of people knew it to begin with, that Black Suit Spidey would cause too much inner struggle, it was even in the trailers for crying out loud. Peter may be his own enemy, but there's something Raimi isn't wanting to give away.

i think it will be Venom as a first 10 minute villain, then Lizard as a mid-way movie villain, then Carnage as the end villain... kinda like Harry, then Sandman, then Venom in the 3rd.

I think its going to be Carnage.... I can see an after credits scene where Brock is in prison and he's Kasady's new cellmate. They could leave it off with Brock getting the symbiot again and Kasady getting a small piece of it, or They could just leave it off with them talking.

I could also see it being The Lizard. Conners could be transforming durring the last scene or even througout the movie. Or we could see him taking somesort of potion at the very end and then we see a flash of the lizard and then the credits roll.

Both of those could work for me, I couldnt see anyother villain unless it was a minor villain for the first scene like Rhino, Chamelion, Shocker, Hammerhead etc. I can't really see Mysterio though but maybe.

can a cliffhanger villain introduction really be considered a villain in SM3? i think if they give a strong hint or intro for someone like the lizard or whoever at the end of sm3 but don't do anything with the character or have them face-off with spidey then it doesn't really count
also, if they show the lizard at the end of this movie, do they not have to settle with the same level of cgi if/when they use him in SM4? theoretically they will have better cgi by then and whatever they can make then will look better than what they make now for whoever they might use...so it would hvae to be a hint in sm3 at most...like dr. connors finding a scale on his new arm and shooting out a forked tongue or something, but not full-on CG

Look, I know this has been brought up before, but my question is: can this movie actually carry 4 villians? I mean, c'mon!!! I know the Harry thing has been an ongoing thing so that's pretty much built in, but you're introducing 3 other villians, Gwen Stacy, and Captain Stacy (considering Eddie Brock is one of the villians). That's a lot of new characters, and I really don't see how you can give the attention that's needed for good characterization in the alloted time. So your going to end up with a lot of hollow characters that you really don't care about.

The only logical progression for a 4th villian is the Lizard because like Harry, the audience would already know of Doc Conners from the first two films...

I'm really hoping that this "4th villian" thing was just a smokescreen from Sony to get the fans in a frenzy....

i dont really think sandman will be the main villian since harry's story is much more darker so i think his will be the main story
