Yeah I remember seeing half of the screen
I remember seeing footage of it that was able to capture most if not all of the screen.

I'd be interested to know if WB plans on releasing it officially shortly after the MI4 premiere. It disappointed me that the didn't do with TDK, though it made sense for them to try to boost box office returns for I Am Legend, a WB picture. That's not the case this time around.

Patience is the key guys! I bet you guys would be satisfied "FOR A MOMENT" with 3 seconds of the 6 minute prologue!

I remember having a pretty good copy of the TDK prologue.

My copy had people whispering.

Though nothing beats the bootleg trailer. It's chilling.

Yes, that thing was mind-blowing. Some of it had to do with the audience reaction: there was normal chit-chat before it started, complete silence during, and silence afterward broken by a guy saying "woah".

Yeah, same here. People are exaggerating the poor quality of the prologue from 2007. For what they were, they were fine.

Me thinks, no, I KNOW that the only reason this "oh the quality was so bad and the screens were so big that we had to combine two different perspectives together" talk is going on is because of that recent interview with Johnathan Nolan where he said as much. I never heard such a thing in 2007 and 2008. It was just accepted that they were decent bootlegs with mind blowing material.

For bootlegs, they were fine. You knew exactly what was going on. The bank heist, the Joker, the music, the dialogue. It wasn't the greatest quality, but it served it's purpose. As far as the "there won't be any bootlegs", we'll see. Where there's a will, there's a way. Someone, somewhere will do it, you can quote me on that.

I would do it. Film a bootleg I mean. But I'm sure I would be enraptured by the utterly ethereal orgy of images and sounds.

You know, it could be a potentially cool psuedo-'viral' thing to do if they officially released the prologue, bit by bit, every week.

Like, every Thursday night or something they release 20 or 30 seconds of it, and after X weeks you get the entire prologue. The trick would be deciding WHEN to do such a thing.

Since they're showing it with MI4, you can't do it ahead of that because it undermines it.

So this December you have the showing with MI4, presumably the first trailer (not teaser) will hit, and then how long before the 2nd big trailer? I can't recall when the 2nd big TDK trailer came out, but I want to say it was... May?

So maybe sometime early in 2012 to tide fans over until the 2nd trailer gives us another great look heading into the summer.

It'll never happen, but man I'd love that.

I"m not sure I ever saw that. Is there any where I can go to see it now, or is my only option the official video?

As for the TDK prologue, I too first saw it as a bootleg (then later on the BB blu-ray), and I remember the first time you see the Joker when he's out on the street waiting for the car, there's a guy in the audience who goes, "There he is!" I dug that; got me more hyped up.

Last year I was the one who got the footage of the prologue with the chair covering half the screen. It sucked but it was first. We were afraid of security though and we don't give a **** this time, so we'll bring a good camera and if they wanna stop us, we'll keep filming till its done and run out after if we have to.

How did we find out that the TDK prologue was about the Joker? Was it from advance screenings?

Yes. Nolan himself was there for the initial screening of it. It was about a week before the release of I Am Legend.

The Dark Knight: Six-Minute Preview
Bat-prologue unveiled in IMAX.
December 6, 2007

We've already regaled you this morning with our exclusive interview with Christopher Nolan, the director of The Dark Knight, who was on hand last night in L.A. for a special screening and reception for the IMAX prologue of the Batman Begins sequel. That footage is set to debut with the Dec. 14th release of Warner Bros.' I Am Legend in IMAX, but IGN Movies has got a blow-by-blow description of the six-minute sequence for those fans who just can't wait to see it themselves.

Plus, a soap opera looks the way it does not because of a higher frame rate, but rather because of its very soft, dull lighting. Hobbit will look fine even with the increased frame rate as it will surely have cinematic lighting.

Absolutely 100% correct. I once edited a short film shot at 60fps. It looked nothing like a soap...

Will it be playing in the Seattle Boeing IMAX theater? :D

Im so pumped to see some actual footage!! I have a feeling this is gonna be epicc!!!

If we both get the proloque AND a regular new trailer in theaters this december, I'll scream! :-)

No. I believe the only theater near Philadelphia that had a showing of The Dark Knight prologue in 07' was the IMAX Stadium 16 in King Of Prussia. That's the one I went to.

Thanks for the heads up dude...and that completely sucks. The KOP theater won't be showing it either. I guess I'm out of luck then.
