I thought the CGI was pretty good, actually. Completely forgettable movie though.T3 just seemed more like a parody than a continuation. The CGI was also so obvious.

Again, another thing I didn't have a problem with. It made it different from the previous two. Unfortunately, the quality itself was also different.T3 was also a bit cliche with making the next villain Terminator a woman.
I'm not saying I'm sexist to the idea, but I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the concept.

have you been living under a rock???lol
I love the ALIEN Trilogy! My favorite is Alien 3. I know alot of people hate it but I love it, especially the Assembly Cut on the Quad set. I hope that someday David Fincher will make a director's cut. I agree with others that Alien 3 was the perfect way to end the series with Ripley's death and (as far as we know) extermination of the Xenomorphs. Resurrection, aside from a few scenes is really bad. Its like watching a parody. The movie had some interesting ideas, but was executed poorly.
I love the Alien duology. Truly, two great films. I mean, the way it ends on a happy note, as Ripley deserved? Instead of taking two great supporting characters and KILLING THEM IN THE OPENING FIVE MINUTES OF A CRAPPY, UNNEEDED THIRD INSTALLMENT THAT MAKES THE SECOND COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT, DOES NOTHING TO EXPAND THE CREATIVE IDEAS, AND MAKES THE MAIN CHARACTER COMPLETELY UNLIKEABLE AND WEAK....we have instead, the perfect bookend. The Nostromo, "Come on, man, the food ain't that bad!", Dallas in the air ducts, Power-loader battle, Bishop, "Eat this..." A great set-up, a perfect conclusion.
Game over, man. Game over.
Thing I don't like about the SE for Alien 3 is that the new scenes with the Alien look bad. The human scenes they added were great, but the new shots of the Alien (and unfinished effects) are very distracting.
I have said it before and will say it again .... EVERYTHING after Alien 3 is a farce ... the creature has been thrust into the light made weaker and is now a cartoon version of the original creation.
Damn shame.
I loved Alien and Aliens. They are Sci-Fi classics (though I do think Aliens is better). These movies show how great Scott and Cameron are.
I actaully enjoy Alien 3, and don't hate it like many people do. I think it is good, but far from great. Fincher certainly has done better work than it.
Now, Alien Ressurection has some nice scenes, but it is awful. No other way to say it. The movie sucks.
I thought AvP had some nice bits, but overall was weak. They could easily have done better (like by making the movie an R type movie!!!).
All in all, I enjoy watching the Xenomorphs, and enjoy most of this franchise.
If Ridley Scott's "Alien" (1979) had more surprises and James Cameron's "Aliens" (1986) more thrills, David Fincher's austere, low-tech, darkly funny "Alien³" has more sharply observed characters. The script -- reflecting the struggle of nine writers -- even has a subtext. This must be the first $50 million thriller that also functions as an AIDS allegory.
Officer Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) crash-lands on Fury 161, an all-male religious colony inhabited by celibate former convicts. "No rubbers, no women, no guns, no ****," says Dillon (Charles S. Dutton), the group's leader. Ripley's fellow passengers, including the young girl she protected in "Aliens," are dead. Is there an alien inside the dead child? Ripley demands that medical officer Clemens (the excellent Charles Dance) perform an antopsy. At first the convicts don't believe Ripley's talk of doom; then the "unwelcome virus" starts taking casualties.
Vincent Ward, who devised the story, directed "The Navigator," a 1988 film about another plague. But "Alien³," beset by studio interference, sometimes loses sight of its larger theme to provide the usual jolts. The compromise isn't fatal. Fincher, 29, makes a feature-directing debut that goes beyond the sleek panache he showed in his Madonna videos. Though he borrows from Kubrick's 2001 and Cameron's "Terminator 2," Fincher gives the images new resonance, creating a provocative fusion of suspense and feeling. Weaver is in spectacular form. Unarmed and nearly bald, she's never seemed more resourcefully human. Her final scene -- a war between her maternal and killer instincts -- is bold and haunting. So is the movie.

Not only was the problem that it looked like a mask, but he also looked way too human and tame. And worst of all, that was intended.
I like P1 and P2 equally, but for different reason.
P1 i like for it's simplicity. We'd never seen anything like what happens in the movie in any other movie. Also the Predator remains mysterious. All we know about him is that he arrived on a ship (seen at the beginning), and that he hunts only in the hottest years.
P2 just has that classic 80's action feel to it that i miss and love. There's plenty of profanity, plenty of violence, and we get once again see the Predator hunting during a heatwave. Which let you know the Predators must come from a hot planet. We also learn a little more about the Predator; he likes to eat beef! And by the ritual wall on the ship at the end, they've been hunting other Alien species, and man for centuries........
AVP having The Predators hunt in a cold climate comletely contradicts the Predators naural habits. There are other isolated parts of the world that are hot, that would have been more suited for a Predator ritual. Having it in Antartica was one of many AVP ****s ups that i hated.
If a 3 is made. I would love to see them Hunt on another Alien world. It would be a great opportunity for Fox to launch another Alien-type franchise by having the Predators hunt another new Alien specie.
I don't think Predator was all that original but it was very fun. A great film.
Predator 2 is probably the most under-rated film ever. I saw it once years ago then again recently and don't remember what I had against it back in the day. Its a classic 80's action movie witch expands on the Predator universe.
Make no mistake every copy of AVP should be burned.
That is an interesting idea. I think it would be cool to have it take place around the time of "Aliens" and have the marines stumble on to the Predator planet. WE could see a war between Predators and humans. Although it would be very hard to pull-off.
No disrespect to your opinion, but what other movie has the same premise as Predator?
It came out in the early 90's but what i was saying above was that it has that classic 80's action movie feel to it.( i grew up in he 80's)
Interesting.
I stopped reading at "romantic leading man"....
