I hope nobody think's that the critics choice awards last night means anything when it comes to the Oscars. It's the Guild wins that are going to show us who has the best chance of winning, except in the DGA's case if the two Oscar nominees in that category don't win.

I can't lie Affleck seems like a cool dude and I loved his joke last night but I'm not up in arms about his snub like other people are because I'm not in love with him as a director like other people are.

I didn't like Gone Baby Gone but I liked the Town but do not think it comes close to being a great film. It's a pretty good crime picture and that's it. Argo looks boring so I'll catch it on DVD. His actual directing is pretty good but I don't love the scripts he directs. Maybe Argo is better I don't know but if Argo has the same quality of direction as The Town and Gone I don't think he deserves to win an Oscar and really don't think he deserves a nom, yet.

Not upset about the other best director snub either because if ZD30 is in the same vain as the okay but nothing special Hurt Locker there is no reason for me to care. Personal opinion aside I still thought they'd both get noms. And I would have been fine if they did get them.

Regarding the french movie I have seen movies like those on HBO all the time where it has subtitles and the same film quality so what is so special about this one? I cant get into a movie and consider it best picture when I have to read the whole time and take away from the acting. Yes this went for passion of the christ as well.

I am aware, thank you though for being smarter. I cant make an opinion on trailers and what I see all the time on TV? You dont even know me haus so how can you make a a claim such as that. What makes you so special? Are you a movie reviewer? How is what I said any different then someone saying this slasher movie looks like every other slasher movie I see on TV all the time.

This is a rather horrible opinion to have, but it's yours to have, but I'm really hoping you're not trying to imply foreign films shouldn't be considered for BP just because some people will have to read to follow it.

I remember the good old days when you used to watch French movies to get an eyefull of gratuitous nudity and deviant sex while appearing to be more intellectual than you otherwise would walking past the beaded curtain into the back room of the video store. We had values in our day, dammit.

I call them like I see them, and it's a terrible opinion. You're dismissing the movie for being nominated for Best Picture on the basis that its French. Not that its a drama. Not that there's not an actor you don't like. But because its French. I can't think of a worse reason to say a movie shouldn't be nominated for best picture, and you tend to, put things lightly have incredibly questionable opinions.
