I'm not blaming illegals for the wage thing, that I hold the company responsible. I blame illegals for coming into the country illegally and I hold them responsible for that. I hold the American citizen responsible for not holding politicians' feet to the fire on the immigration issue for not creating an enforceable situation and for their willingness to allow illegal immigration for when it didn't affect them.

The issue has aspects that everybody shares blame. However, it's gotta be fixed otherwise it will result in a terrible situation for all.

such as?

provided to illegal immigrants or immigrants overall, seems kind of key, doesn't it?

Legals have rights to those social services because American gladly let them in, because every country whose birthrates have fallen replacement levels and I gladly pay my taxes to allow legals to access the same social services as any native American. However, illegals should not have even one right towards any social service. They should access whatever social services are available in their own countries.

Lowered wages for all, and chaos in general.

No country can take in as many people as America has had to from Mexico and survive as a nation.

Just for a moment, reflect on what Speedy would think of all this.

Try raising your kids on $40/day. It's either that or unemployment. That's the consequence of such carelessness by the government, business and American citizen.

and it's going to take the cooperation of all to fix it. The willingness of politicians to create and enforce laws that minimize illegals, businesses to be willing to hire Americans and pay the necessary wages for those jobs and Americans to be willing to pay the price for goods and services that are produced by those businesses and hold politicans accountable for not protecting their country.

still, that's not the fault of the immigrants. it's on the coporations and citizens themselves. that's why i don't think immigration is as big a deal as they're making it out to be. if any american citizen is loosing out on a low-paying job to an illegal immigrant shouldn't it be their responsibility to make themselves more desireable for better paying jobs instead? i'm talking about education and trade skills.

Here in Dallas and other Texas cities, it's really starting to over crowd. I believe something needs to be about ILLEGAL immigration. Also the thing that has upset me most about this whole thing is that the protesters has made it into a race thing. Since when does immigrate = latino.

I'm not blaming the illegals for the wages, just their unwillingness to come into the country legally and their unwillingness to assimilate. The systems needs to not reward that behaviour and needs to modify it, make it far less rewarding to do it illegally and go the legal route.

Not all people are able to upgrade their education to access those better jobs, whether it be to a lack of time or ability or access to learn those new skills. It's also going to be self-defeating because as illegals move up the food chain, so to speak, the amount of skills needed will continue to increase to the point of where everybody is going to need doctorates to just be store clerks.

i'm still failing to see how this is a worse longterm problem than environmental pollution. i mean, yeah, something definitely needs to be done in case the illegal immigrant population gets too out of control, but i still think this is more of a wedge issue than an actual issue that affects all americans.

At the moment it might be a wedge issue, but as I mentioned before, they are moving up the food chain and aren't just picking fruit anymore. Many construction jobs, landscaping, bookkeeping and other such jobs are being done by illegals. It is going to affect all Americans (aside from the very elites in the business and political worlds) eventually and at that point there will be no steps that can be taken to solve it.

The environment in North America isn't in that much trouble when compared with other parts of the world, but that doesn't mean steps shouldn't be taken to ensure its viability.

i'm worried about cancer rates and other illnesses that may very well be directly related to pollution.

More and more jobs get outsourced. Eventually all that's left are jobs like...picking tomatoes and nannys.

agreed, outsourcing is a growing problem. but do you think computer programmers are going to stoop to picking tomatoes and plucking chickens? they're intelligent enough to find other well-paying jobs.

 LOL, now it's the protesters making it into a race thing?
consider that most people that want to build a fence to "protect the borders" only want to do it on the south, now, they quote concerns of "terrorists" crossing the border illegaly, wouldn't a potential terrorist just spend the extra 3 bucks and cross through canada?

oh, jonty, poor Jonty, might as well say you fault the poor for their "unwillingness" to be rich.:)

I don't blame poor people for being poor, I blame poor people if they haven't taken responsibility for their position to the best of their ability. However, it doesn't help the poor when their wages are dropped because companies are able to get away with it because of an artificial excess of workers because of a large tolerance towards illegals.

I'd agree with this except, how are terrorists getting into Canada?

It's much easier for them to make their way through South American countries

Why should kids of illegal immigrants get free education?

Its much easier to get into MExico then Canada...thats why. Plus, its pretty dang easy to hide among the thousands crossing the border if youre a terrorist.

14 million people don't pour in from Canada.
