A Deadpool spin off

Well Deadpool doesnt have enough popularity to have his own movie..
so I dont think it will work.

Knaves is right. Deadpool has two ongoing series, a mini series and countless crossovers going on right now. Check out the top subscriptions at marvel. Deadpool is #2 only behind Spider-Man. Hes beating Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine. Not to mention the general audience will be very aware of who he is because of X men origins. Hes no longer a B lister.

There will be more people aware of Deadpool than alot of other characters that are getting films.

Are you trying to convince us or yourself? even after the Wolverine movie Deadpool won't be that well known.

I aint try to convince anyone, you can think whatever you like. The character is Marvels cash cow right now.

He will be alot more well known after this flick because he will be introduced to alot of new people. If you dont think a major motion picture will increase the general audiences awareness of the character I disagree.

Define what it is to be well known.

The thing with Deadpool, if they establish him in his own film, is that he can pop up pretty much anywhere, in any Marvel movie.

I can imagine if they do a X-Men First Class film he could even have a cameo in that. Maybe a quick glimpse of someone sitting on a tree branch outside Siryns window or something.

Siryn was in X2. She was the little red head who was screaming during Weapon X's invasion of the mansion.

That makes two comic relationships ruined because it would make the man a pedophile. (Gambit & Rogue is the other)

Well, X2 came out 6 years ago, in 2003. Even if she was 12 in the movie, she'd be 18 now. So technically, not a pedophile. :cwink:

And thanks to his regeneration, Deadpool doesn't age. Hence, they can put him at any point in the timeline they want. Meaning, Siryn can be as old as they need her to be.

you guys know what they did to him in the movie right. I know you believe Deadpool is going to get a movie he most likely won't. just cause Marvel is making money off the character in the comics right now doesn't mean he is going to get a movie. I'm a fan of the character and don't think he should get a movie. I think there are characters that could carry their own movie and others that probably can't. I think Deadpool would be great for an animated movie, but not the big screen. and you really can't use well if the character is in a big movie they'll be well known from then on. Wolverine was well known before the X-Men movies. The movies gave him a bigger boost, but Deadpool is no where near the same level.

Err... yea. But it has now been confirmed that is not the final version of him. There is an after credit scene featuring him. But the bastards at Fox have decided to do different after credit scenes on different prints.

Ok that changes my argument a little. I thought the alternative ending thing was just BS to make people see it cause of the leak. I still think he's a better suited character for animation though. I really wish comic companies (especially Marvel) would put more effort into cartoons its the best way to market towards kids.

Dude...I don't know anyone who's even HEARD of Deadpool...I doubt he'll be called Deadpool much (or if at all) in Wolverine...people will still be clueless about him.

The X-Men are a little bit in the future. :oldrazz:

Then, have Deadpool be a little bit further in the future. :oldrazz:

Or, have Deadpool be that little bit freaky (there generally doesn't seem to be that big of an issue as long as the character is 16-18, played by an 18+ actress and they don't overly emphasize her age).

From what I hear he is called Deadpool in the movie. There will be a new audience being introduced to the character even if they just know him as Wade Wilson.

I am not saying everyone knows who he is or that he has the popularity of Spider-man or Batman. All Im saying is he's popular enough to carry his own flick. There is more awareness for Deadpool than alot of these other comic book movies being made right now.

After a no-name and altogether unpopular character like Blade can spawn his own franchise, I think a Ryan Reynolds helmed Deadpool movie is possible.

Wesley Snipes was still a star when Blade came out , lol

I'm looking forward to this. Reynolds says he will only do the film if it is true to the source material.

if Hellboy and blade can do well freaking deadpool is fine lol

I think a Deadpool film can only do as well as Spawn. But Hellboy and Blade had a great crew who knew how to mix fantasy and sci-fi together. Deadpool doesn't inspire that kind of creativity. Muthafrakker can't even do sinawali for ****. Wesley Snipes showed us how it's down in Blade 2. :word:

Reynolds is making enough of a name for himself that if the movie looks good enough, people will go see it, regardless of the popularity of the character.

There is literally limitless possibilities with a Deadpool film. And nearly every review I've read of the film (even the negative ones) say Reynolds stole the show in his scenes and should of got more screen time.

But I think Reynolds just grabbed this chance no matter what, just so he could get the opportunity to get his own Deadpool film.

Ryan Reynolds is hardly a big star.

As for the Deadpool movie we will see. Last thing we need is another Elektra.

Deadpool ain't Elektra.

And Reynolds is getting pretty big, but he keeps a low profile. When he does roles that ain't like Van Wilder and that he is decent actor.

Ryan Reynolds isn't a draw. And most of the movies he's been in that he's the star of no one sees.

I've watched the Wolverine film. Deadpool isn't so hot in this movie, but they had a good use for him. He played Stryker's *****.

That isn't Deadpool.

Gavin Hood has just confirmed that. Check out the video interview on the HYPE main page.

Then there's no point making a movie about him. He only appeared for a short time. Even Gambit outshined him.
