For Immediate Release

OWI, Mezco Toyz, and NBC Join Forces For Heroes Contest

NY- Fans of the popular NBC series Heroes are eagerly awaiting the release of the Mezco Toyz action figures of their favorite characters from the award winning series. Collectors are pre-ordering the figures online in record numbers and the prototypes, on display at NBC’s Rockefeller Center headquarters, draw crowds of onlookers who pose next to their custom display case for a quick photo. The 1st set of Heroes action figures is set to be released in June 2008, but one lucky fan will get them early thanks to The-OWI.com, a Heroes fan site. By simply e-mailing pictures of themselves dressed as their favorite Hero, fans can enter the website’s Show Us Your Heroes contest. In April, judges from the website along with representatives of Mezco Toyz, and NBC will select a grand prize winner who will receive a complete set of unpainted "test shot" figures. Test shots are quickly becoming one of the hottest collectibles in the toy world due to their extreme scarcity, only a handful are produced and many are destroyed. Several test shots of Mezco Toyz are on display in museums, including New York’s prestigious Museum Of The Moving Image.
Additionally, NBC will be supplying several additional prizes, to be revealed at a later date, for several runner up winners.

The OWI, Mezco Toyz, and NBC hope that by requirng fans to participate and send a photo rather than simply send an e-mail or postcard, the prize will be awarded to a true Heroes fan.

Heroes action figures by Mezco Toyz are available for pre-order online, and will be in Toys"R"Us and other fine retailers in June.

About the OWI: The Organization Without Initials (OWI) was started as an outlet for fans of the TV show HEROES to express their opinions, create content, participate in contests and have access to the cast and crew behind the hit NBC television show. Since its inception in 2006 many cast and crewmembers have been interviewed including; Tim Kring, Greg Grunberg, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Masi Oka among others. The OWI sets itself above other HEROES fans sites by creating news not just reporting it.

About Mezco Toyz: Mezco Toyz burst onto the toy scene more nearly a decade ago and has not only been raising the bar for quality and detail but has helped to redefine what could be expected from a toy company. The artists of Mezco Toyz continually blur the line between toys, collectibles, and art. Having won numerous awards for design, innovation, quality, and originality, Mezco has proven itself to be a leader in the field of collectable toys. Mezco Toyz designs and manufactures both licensed and original creations and has created collectables for such high-profile licenses as Heroes, The Spirit, Hellboy 1 & 2, Cinema Of Fear, Family Guy, South Park, Animal House, Blues Brothers, Scarface, Under Dog, King Kong, The Goonies, and Edward Scissorhands, as well as in-house creations including the incredibly popular Living Dead Dolls and Gangsta Babies.

About NBC: NBC Universal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news, and information to a global audience. Formed in May 2004 through the combining of NBC and Vivendi Universal Entertainment, NBC Universal owns and operates a valuable portfolio of news and entertainment networks, a premier motion picture company, significant television production operations, a leading television stations group, and world-renowned theme parks. NBC Universal is 80% owned by General Electric and 20% owned by Vivendi.

Well thanks for feedback but considering there are ONLY 5 sets like that in existence, it is actually quite rare and will be worth money as a collectors item immediatley...it really isn't 'crappy'.

Mezco has 1
NBC has 1
Museum sets 2
Contest winner 1

You dont get much more rare than that.

The only reason i would like to win this prize is because they could end up being worth a lot of money but the toys themselves are pretty crappy indeed.

Thanks to our friends at the NBC/ Universal store we have added the following prizes for the first 4 runners up:
