Ok.... so ...ok lets set the stage...

Sean Hannity just *****ed about sports not happening.

Sean Hannity just suggested all fans get their temperatures tested before entering the stadium.

Sean Hannity then suggested all fans are given masks with their team logo on them...

now... ok... my question isnt if "is this guy completely stupid?"...

my question is "is it wrong of me to wish this virus on someone like him?".

..........................................................

A face mask with the Washington Redskins logo on it would be the perfect representation of all the ways we've failed as a species.

will you stop snowing!!! Mother nature really messed up here

raining now, muddy mess outside. Oh joy

Piece I’ve written for another site but am really proud of it and wanted to share it with similar thinking friends…..

The articles’ title concentrated on asking us to write who was our favourite Super-hero character and why?

Favourite Character – Superman

SUBMITTED BY JIM ROGERS COPYRIGHT 2020.

WHAT HE MEANS TO ME

Lets get this out of the way, before we start….he’s my hero.

He is the model of moral compass that is the template we should all aspire to live by, to embody, embrace and demonstrate every day. His ‘S’ logo is known in every corner of the planet, there’s a reason for that.

Created and launched in a time period of desperation to instil the necessary strength to those who have none, to bring hope to those who cannot feel any, to care & support those who don’t know where too turn, he is there.

He is the magnifying glass for us, on earth, to show us, when and where we can’t, the how & why of humanity, it is within us always, sometimes we just need to be shown the where of it all.

My love for him has lived in me since childhood. My father took me to see Richard Donner’s Superman in 1978, and that cinematic experience not only shaped my life but also my career, now as a writer & film-maker. The magic & awe leapt from the screen to inform a child of what the ideal of life truly means. Christopher Reeve captured this character, all of this character, the three-part axis of the character, this alien, this journalist, this lost soul.

He is what we should wake up in the morning and try & match, the power to understand, the power to care and believe in each other, now as we face what we do, currently, that message should be louder than ever.

I am proud to call him my hero, my go-to moral compass, the embodiment of nature’s response to how we approach and handle pain in our lives, how we live to be a community, how we look at the world and how we treat our fellow beings. When in doubt, what would Clark do?

Through comics, the films, the TV series, his legacy is vast and meaningful, He is the hero’s hero.

He and Lois, our golden couple, the aspirational relationship we all seek. I have that in my life now, the woman who helps shapes me, I know that feeling. Clark & Lois are us, that feeling of love that run though us when we know life is the best it can be.

When we are at our lowest, he holds us and comforts us till we are better, when we are at our brightest, he celebrates with us. He is the man for all seasons, and that’s why we embrace him.

Beautiful Mandon.
He was a big part of my childhood as well.
He helped inspire me to learn to read at 4.
I would wait in the lobby at st judes in memphis while my parents would be with my sister while she got treatments for her leukemia.

It was scary, but a nurse that watched over me once brought out a stack of comics for me to look at, it had spiderman, superman, Iron man etc, in this huge stack. but it was superman that I picked up.
It drew me in, I loved the art work, that he could fly, etc, so I wanted to learn to read so I could understand the words this "superman" was saying.
They must have been important I thought.
The nurse read one to me, ( including some sound effects lol ) and I was hooked.

That started me collecting comics. My mom bought me some, and through them and my awesome mom, it helped me to learn to read.
I needed more.
( the first week or so of first grade my teacher was Amazed because I was already reading at a 4th grade level, she asked how? I reached into my backpack and pulled out a superman comic and showed her. I told her my mom taught me by reading them to me.
The next week my teacher had brought a stack of comics to class and let the kids pick out what they wanted to take home )

I needed more comics but my folks didnt have much money, and especially so having to take my sister to st judes twice a week for treatments.
But I found a solution. I discovered pop bottles could be exchanged for money so I would collect bottles and return them to the store, and I would then buy comics with the money I earned.

Two or Three years later superman the movie came out, I was 6 or 7, I begged my mom to take me, and she did.
I just about lost it seeing my hero on the big screen.
My mom had to keep telling me to sit down as I was getting very excited lol.
That smile he gave at the end was for me, and me alone.
But looking back, remembering my mom watching me, smiling while I was watching the film, was even more priceless.

20 years later I got an A on an essay I wrote in college about, yup, Superman.
I was borderline passing that class, but that put me over.
The professor wrote, " big fan. A+."

I guess you could say superman inspired me throughout my life to help people. I have been a police officer, a 911dispatcher, a firefighter, and now an EMT.

Now my daughter, who is almost 26, is a huge superman fan herself, and one of my granddaughters is already drawing the \S/, she is 6.

So maybe I will have left a little hope to my little corner of the world and helped create a few more superman fans along the way when I one day leave this place.

One of those historic pictures that feels like it would make for a good meme template.

Just started reading the Wrath of Khan novelization. One thing that isn't brought up in the movie but is mentioned in the book is that Saavik is half Vulcan/half Romulan.

Recently bought a box of Star Trek books off of Ebay.

Second... Yeah, that part never makes it into the film canon. That said it was referred to often in the DC Comics Trek books from the 80's through the 90's up until I believe Marvel got the rights to publish Trek. Not sure if that's how it always was or if it's a case of a retro-continuity change cuz fans were wondering how she could say "damn" at the start of WoK.

@KRYPTON INC. I'm alive old man.

@Perfect Cell The Last Dance sunday night???

I won't get into it... but terrible things happened with @Roose Bolton ... He's alive though. I facetimed with him last night... Probably not the wisest move given my own situation but I sent him some moolah.

god this is so ****ed up. hope you are all well...

It'll be early Monday morning for me, since that's when it goes up on Netflix. But yes, I'm all about a documentary that shows how Jordan's sheer force of hate made him the best.

i bet he would have won a ring with corona.

While this crisis has not made me desperate enough to eat shrimp ramen of any kind, I will say... I have given instant Udon it's day in court...

You win this time Pan-Asian noodle based food products.

i may start uncharted tomorrow. never played... but i feel the obligation to play madden 18 or mlb 18 with my cousin as he is completely alone too

@Perfect Cell you know what we need? DB... DBZ...DBS on netflix so we can force Krypnot to watch like he watched Always Sun.......oh nvm

He can watch GT.

How dare ye...

As my grandmother is fond of saying... "I've got two words for you... And they ain't Happy Birthday."

I was watching bootlegs of DBZ from Canal street video shops before most of ya'll's scrotums wuz even thinking about growing hair.

Ehh... Screw you guys... I'm going home!

(Remembers that everyone else is already home... Thinks how actually I'm one of the minority NOT at home... Shrugs and continues eating instant Udon.)

The Wright Brothers were the first ones to fly a plane, but they're not the ones I'd want to get me across the country. And not just because they're ancient corpses.

Wait... Do you need to get cross country for some reason Bri? Is... Is it to put a bid on the caught in a death spiral XFL? Or is it to purchase Seattle Dragons merch before it sells out?
