She does have an eerie resemblance to Bosworth...

She looks familiar, was she on 90210 or something?

Bosworth has the face of TAS Lois.

They should have kept HER hair, dyed it black.

Also they should have given her just a little more edge. No replacement needed. Bosworth is a very good actress

I just opened a thread in the Untitled Sequel section, on replacing Bosworth, considering they are replacing Katie Holmes. Not that I want to replace her, but it is an interesting concept, is it possible to replace her and with whom. I see alot of interesting choices in this thread.

if kate has the same body as this girl than we have a winner.

I have to say the only female lead that I've really liked in a comicbook movie is Dunst as M.J and nobody, absolutely nobody is going to change my mind when it comes to that topic.

Bosworth is a good actress and played the blandly written role as well as anyone probably would have but even if the role was written more Loisy, she would still be wrong for it because she is too serious and still looks like a teenager.

Not that Bosworth is great, but Dunst is just OK as MJ to me.

I think Kate Bosworth will stay on for the sequel. Everyone's gotten the 1st movie under their belt, and they now know what changes need to be made. She'll do alot better the second time around.

I don't think they should change Louis's. I think Kate did a very good job and I don't see what so many people are complaining about! Just because she looks too young, it doesn't mean anything. Anywho, that was just my opinion.

Kate is easily more watchable than Kirsten in the spidey flicks *shudders*

I dont know whats worse katie Holmes in Batman Begins or Kate Bosworth in Superman returns either way, shows WB casting dept sucks.

I think the writers just failed to give Bosworth the lines to show the spunky, fun side of Lois Lane. But then again Lois is supposed to have grown bitter in the last 5 years. Plus having a kid, well, that'll take the shine off any new penny, I don't care how fun and sassy you used to be.

I thought Bosworth was fine given what she had to work with but if they did replace Lois Lane my vote would be for:

1. Reese Witherspoon (she was a great brunette in Walk the Line, and who couldn't help but love & hate her in Election?)
2. Jennifer Garner

The Lois role wasn't the best written role for a female in a Super hero movie but her role wasn't exactly terribly written either... what was really bad was how she acted in the role.

Her acting to be honest stunk up the place, and im talking about how she read her lines, and stuff she just didn't sound natural, and yes the dialog was very corny, and stuff so that didn't help her bad acting.

She sounded like she was reading lines, and not having a normal conversation with the other actor in the scene with her.. The ability to come off natural in a conversation while acting is what separates the good actors from the not so good one's.

Spacey's Lex for example had the WORST plot scheme ever written for any badguy in a Super hero movie, and yet he came off very natural when he's engaged in dialog with any actor... So while his storyline was terrible he was enjoyable to watch on screen in his limited time because Kevin Spacey is a real actor who knows how to act.

Brandon Routh like Kate also has acting issues...
He comes off very wooden, and stiff, and like he's reading lines, and not having a conversation...

It's sad but the best actors in the movie were NOT Lois & Clark but Jimmy & Lex.

And their characters storyline's sucked badly lol...

I really think that changing lead actors is the only way to go if the WB plans on making sequels to SR.

I just can't see people flocking to theaters in '09 to watch a direct sequel with the same terrible cast, and same writing team, and director.
The WB are fooling them self's if they honestly think that they have any shot in 09 with the line up coming out in '09.

i'm not a bosworth fan....but after seeing the movie, and even though i find her acting poor, i really wouldnt want anyone else. shes got that role now.

Gotta think like a suit Robo. They want money. Not chemistry. Especially since the 'chemistry' between Routh and Bosworth didn't produce money.

Ugh, apparently it did. Just because it didn't gross a billion at the BO doesn't mean it "didn't make money". It absolutely was a profitable movie, period.

Yes, Kate needs to be replaced! With one of these.
1 Rose Mcgowan
2. Erica Durance
3. Sophia Bush.

i kinda always, thought, that Alexis Bledel could of been good in the role
(since they went younger with the cast anyway)

i am not suggesting her as a replacemet, now, i am saying if she was it from the start

if spacey doesnt want to be uther anymore then replace bosworth with someone else

just cause he’s the one who suggested her, (though, I’ve seen beyond the sea, and I see where he would of suggested her) doesn't mean they have to wait for him to leave, before they can replace her if necessary

but, unless its a total recast/revamp like in TIH, i don't think a recast for just her, wouldn't go over that well, then again, TDK, replaced they lead lady, so, you never know

well, might as well bring back Margot Kidder. she's still alive.

LOL, what a shocking statement. Too bad most people think she's a poor MJ.

Anyway, there's a new FX series coming on called Damages. There's this actress that would be perfect as Lois. Even resembles Margot Kidder.

First of all, I love Superman Returns. I thought it was great. However, its obvious that alot werent too pleased with Kate Bosworth's performance as Lois.

Should Kate Bosworth be replaced for future films?

If so, I'm offering the suggestion of replacing her with House's Jennifer Morrison. She bears a strong resemblence to Kate's Lois and her mannerisms and voice are similar enough to make a smooth transition. She, however, is also a great actress on the show and has a slightly more mature look and presense compared to Kate. She could possibly make it more believeable without totally changing Kate's Lois completely.

She looks like Erica Durance more then Kate; you could say that she also looks like a cross between the two.
I think she would be good... Kate was terrible!

Well, I always thought Jennifer looked like Kate, and considering Singer produces and sometimes directs House, its a weird little thing to think about. I think Singer wanted Laurie as Perry, so I wonder if he ever wanted Jennifer as Lois.
