I think the writers just failed to give Bosworth the lines to show the spunky, fun side of Lois Lane. But then again Lois is supposed to have grown bitter in the last 5 years. Plus having a kid, well, that'll take the shine off any new penny, I don't care how fun and sassy you used to be.
I thought Bosworth was fine given what she had to work with but if they did replace Lois Lane my vote would be for:
1. Reese Witherspoon (she was a great brunette in Walk the Line, and who couldn't help but love & hate her in Election?)
2. Jennifer Garner
The Lois role wasn't the best written role for a female in a Super hero movie but her role wasn't exactly terribly written either... what was really bad was how she acted in the role.
Her acting to be honest stunk up the place, and im talking about how she read her lines, and stuff she just didn't sound natural, and yes the dialog was very corny, and stuff so that didn't help her bad acting.
She sounded like she was reading lines, and not having a normal conversation with the other actor in the scene with her.. The ability to come off natural in a conversation while acting is what separates the good actors from the not so good one's.
Spacey's Lex for example had the WORST plot scheme ever written for any badguy in a Super hero movie, and yet he came off very natural when he's engaged in dialog with any actor... So while his storyline was terrible he was enjoyable to watch on screen in his limited time because Kevin Spacey is a real actor who knows how to act.
Brandon Routh like Kate also has acting issues...
He comes off very wooden, and stiff, and like he's reading lines, and not having a conversation...
It's sad but the best actors in the movie were NOT Lois & Clark but Jimmy & Lex.
And their characters storyline's sucked badly lol...
I really think that changing lead actors is the only way to go if the WB plans on making sequels to SR.
I just can't see people flocking to theaters in '09 to watch a direct sequel with the same terrible cast, and same writing team, and director.
The WB are fooling them self's if they honestly think that they have any shot in 09 with the line up coming out in '09.
