Comics Aaaaaaaand the person to bite it is... (Mashoosive spoiler for ASM 538)

If May does die, then you gotta wonder what the point was to bringing her back ..
Old Aunt May, the 'fake' one- she knew PP was Spidey in the end anyway.

so stupid and redundant if true... what exactly was the point of retconning perhaps the best Spider-Man story ever then (ASM#400)? Bring her back from a poignant story where she dies of natural causes and has a heartfelt goodbye so "anonymous sniper" can gut-blast her. Grrreeeaaat... :whatever: DeMatties must be rolling in his... well... bed, I guess.

Although I thought this was going to happen, it still sucks. I hope she doesn't die, at least.

Sounds exciting to ME.

She gets shot, but doesnt nescessarily die. There was a preview of Spidey clinging to the side of a speeding ambulance, which begs a few possible scenarios;

Will she be taken into custody at the hospital? (provivded she survives)...im sure there's some sort of law against being on the lam with a wanted felon.

Will Peter smash his way into Ryker's to go after Kingpin?

If she is arrested, will Peter try and see her and have to battle some old friends and allies to do so?

Personally, i cant wait to see what happens...

i hope she dies...she should have stayed dead after #400

Exactly, ASM#400 was dignified and a perfect send off and tribute to May.
Anything else, like her getting shot, is un called for and totally the wrong way for Aunt May to exit.

Exactly what i was thinking...

I would actually be a bit disappointed cause I kinda want Aunt May around for the "inevitable" Ben Reilly resurrection.

The only saving grace would be if Aunt May dies, she dissolves into a cloud of dust and it turns out the May that died in ASM 400 was the real one all along.

Like THAT would happen.

So....Aunt May is shot...maybe dead (AGAIN)....and we've got two issues of Back in Black already out on stands....and Pete doesn't mention a WORD of her being shot or dead....nor why he'd put on a costume that his wife hates and detests.

It's just magically there and delicious.

Hmn.

This storyline is genious. Someone deserves a raise at least!

And it won't be retconned. Good job Joey Q.! My congrats on more brilliance and making Spidey the best read out there.

Ah, the joys of sarcasm. :)

A had a gut feeling that this would happen, if only because it was JMS wanting to demonstrate "dramatic irony" by having the person who ends up convincing Peter that he should reveal he's Spider-Man to the entire world and that everything will be better if he does is the one who ends up getting shot and possibly crippled/put in a coma/or killed as a result. (Still remember those comments from folks about how "wise" Aunt May was in her arguments about how Peter should unmask. Think it's time you folks may want to reconsider that. :) )

Well, the good news is that at least Mary Jane survived (and people would REALLY be complaining if she ended up getting shot). Bad news is that Marvel has pretty much said "Yeah, we brought Aunt May back, even though her death in ASM #400 was one of the most poitent issues ever made, we thought she contributed more if she was alive. Well, maybe she should've stayed dead after all." Of course the ridiculous thing about this is

1.
considering that apparently Aunt May gets shot because Peter sensed the snipers bullet and saved Mary Jane from getting hit, it looks like we have ANOTHER split of Peter and MJ on our hands, at least temporarily, centered around the whole "It was all MJs fault for Aunt May getting shot because if Peter wasn't forced to choose, it wouldn't have happened" vs. "If Peter hadn't been such as dope and revealed his secret identity on live television, then he wouldn't have put his family in jeporday to begin with."

2. Besides, considering how the solicit for the Sensational Spider-Man Annual reveals that both Mary Jane AND Aunt May are apparently alive and well, it really didn't matter who got shot.

Tony is so going to get ****ed up.
If being made [blackout]Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.[/blackout] counts as getting "****ed up", yes, he is going to get ****ed up.

She may not die. I love May, this may, the ONLY May I ever cared to love, or even like, because she's kool. If she dies, then she sucks.

Makes sense in a way. Uncle Ben dies...because of Peter's irresponcibility of his powers and now Aunt May may die because of Peter's irresponcibility of his secret. Maybe he'll finally learn that valuable leason now.

Doubt she will die. She was already revived once (or twice?)

Apologies for being negative all the time but what really bites about this is its anticlimatic nature......once Marvel decided to tamper with Spidey's characterization last year by unmasking him, who didn't know either May or MJ were going down?.......it's like the anticipation on Christmas morning of whether you got the green or purple model of the newest video game console that you've known for months you were getting!!....

Well, I saw this coming, and if it had to be one of them, I'd rather it be May.

Still, her death in ASM#400 was handled with alot more grace.

Doesn't the issue come out today? And Civil War 7?

Woul you care to do a review of both? Detailed? (lol)

Agreed but I still think May needs to bite the dust sooner rather than later but for some reason I think Quesada wont have her die just yet, what with all that business of him wanting things not move foward in time so much. Aunt May dieing will age Peter as far as he's concernd.

Precisely.
