ASM #538 who bites the bullet

well,i cant say im totally shocked.

if were up to me the scene when she dies in spider-man a while ago when ben reilly was shown crying on the roof was more stirring.
a very good scene and wouldve been a better send off.

but she will probably nearly die or die but be back eventually.

i think the best way aunt may could die would be amidst a superhero/villain battle.....in a similar vein to uncle ben(is he really back!!??) it would shock spidey and be totally more interesting than shot be some random sniper.
IMO!

YES!

I KNEW all this sudden MJ hate was just to lead us off course, awesome news. Bye bye Aunt May.

Its so hard, to say goodbye....to yesterday....again.

The REAL May death was all those years ago. THAT was a fitting death. But....Mackie couldn't handle that, could he? NOOOOO! now we get this crudness of a death- sniper bullet? OOOOH BIG- ****ING- DEAL!

:csad:

This death =

Meh is all I can say.

It pretty much makes the original Retcon completely pointless. Way to go Marvel.:whatever:

Don't worry, give it a few years, and she'll be back and this one that died will have been a clone. :p

She was shot with a Magic Bullet:

Shes home making a 6 second lunch.

Why did there have to be a choice? What purpose does it serve? It's just a contrived way to get him in the black again, when he could just decide to get back into the black duds.

It's just stupid really. It completely negates the killing/ressurection of said character they did before. It's especially stupid when you know given a couple of years, she'll be back as her same self.:whatever:

i think it's Marvel's way of taking the safe route, you can play the grief angle (bringing out the black suit just in time for the movie) and the hope return everything to normal angle (bring said character back in time for the movie) w/o some cosmic scale retcon to change the incident. It's actually an intelligent move by Marvel.

[BLACKOUT]she'll live. i'm guessing a coma, worst case senario.

the only way i can see her kicking it, is if she dies in the movie, too.[/BLACKOUT]

i mean, if there was really a death, i doubt spidey would have as chipper as he was in the lastest new avengers.

then again, bendis isn't writing asm, and it seems if he's not the author, then it's not really canon to him...hmmm.

I'm utterly shocked that no one has brought this up...

It's totally an actress playing her.

I don't there's not gonna be a death. That would be cheap. If anything, it will be Dealt with, in total, in One More Day.

i have a feeling quesada's going to go easy on the spider-marriage.

"one more day" will have something to do with gwen stacy, and finally putting that era to rest. i'm guessing it'll be marvel's way of saying, "the marriage is what we were dealt with, and we're going to see it through."

at least i hope that's what it is.

You know, it is so messed up that they did the to Her. not right at all.

how do you figure?

would that be enough for pete to throw on the black suit?

Actually, he's making reference to how Aunt May's "death" in ASM #400 was retconned prior to the reboot--that the "Aunt May" who died was actually an actress employed by Norman Osborn. And you're right, Spidey didn't put the black costume on after that either.

Also, considering how apparently
Aunt May gets shot as a result of Peter diving and pushing Mary Jane out of the way, you know that this will be the big guilt trip which will force ANOTHER separation of Peter and MJ because "it's all MJ's fault that Aunt May is in the hospital" vs. "It's all Peter's fault because HE was the one who revealed his identity to the world and put his loved ones in danger."

Course, since the May solicit of the Sensational Spider-Man annual reveals that both MJ AND Aunt May are apparently alive, it really makes no difference who gets shot in this issue.

You know? There's got to be some kind of a Hawkeye "Not like this" or "Not this again" joke somewhere in here...

:p

Oh and for those who remember me, 9 weeks until baby!

If only I could muster enough care in the spidey-verse for this to affect me. Guess I'm too "shocked" out.

And GRATS, GAMBIT!!!

no one dies, marvel released solicits for a few months from now that talk about her...so as was said, worst case scenario, coma :o

I liked the original death of [blackout]Aunt May[/blackout] it was a lot more touching.

And the way they brought back the character in the first place was completely stupid. Like Peter wouldn't have noticed that his [blackout]Aunt May[/blackout] was replaced by an actor.
