the Snow Queen in the fable is nothing like Elsa and would take nothing away from her. Only thing they have in common are their powers.

Exactly. The ways in which the Snow Queen fairytale ended up inspiring Frozen are so minuscule that it is almost inaccurate to call it an adaptation of said fairytale at all.

There are theories that Elsa and Anna's parents are the heroes of the Snow Queen fable and Elizabeth Mitchell's character secretly cursed their first born.

Now that would be a good story twist.

Nice idea.

It would be a great 'Once-ification' of both the original fairytale AND Frozen, but wouldn't change anything fundamental about what Frozen presented.

It is more removed from most of their other adaptions though, the Snow Queen in the fable is nothing like Elsa and would take nothing away from her. Only thing they have in common are their powers.

Im talking less about character and more about title. No longer is Elsa "the snow queen" shes now just "a snow queen" im fine with there being another snow queen if shes also someone else (in true once fashion) but less ok if shes the "real" snow queen and elsa is just essentially a gifted girl who just so happens to have become a queen. If that makes sense?

Its like taking ariel, and giving portions of her story to another mermaid and then also calling her "the little mermaid"

There's something almost cheap and off-putting about it if she just so happens to be "another snow queen" I view "Frozen" as a twist of a perspective on a character thought to be a villain in a fairy tale. Sort of like the Maleficent film

Thats intriguing. Still want a white witch matchup too though

Similarly... they tried to do the same thing with Aurora on once. When she was first introduced it was alluded that her mother also was a "sleeping beauty" cursed by maleficent... which was ultimately pointless and never brought up again

I actually think OUAT's version of Anna is more attractive then OUAT's version of Elsa.

I still view it differently. Elsa is never really referred to as the Snow Queen, it's always been Elsa or Princess/Queen. Frozen never uses it, Once hasn't. Where as Ariel is referred to as The Little Mermaid and it is her movie title. But Once made her into just another mermaid since all mermaids are able to gain legs instead of her having to sacrifice her family/voice/friends to Ursula. It is something easily obtainable to every mermaid in Once. So if anything Elsa doesn't look anything like Ariel did in their Oncr adaptions.

The Regina character is really uninteresting and everything feels like the same old **** with her now. Her barely being in the episode was probably why I enjoyed it so much.

It's not the article that's the problem, it's that enough people are b****ing for an article to be necessary.

I rather have Regina then Rumple so it's whatever. But thus far everyone is getting little screen time if you arent named Elsa/Emma/Anna

Regina in episode 1 and Charming in episode 2 say hi. :o

I'm talking about overall, not episode to episode basis. Regina and Charming will come and go, those 3 will continue to get the most decent amount of screen time for 4a.
