Can someone explain the logistics behind Emma saving Killian and why in doing so he became a Dark One?
Emma said she was going to use the flame from the Prometheus stone and do something with it, and then this black ooze started coming out of Merlin and enveloped Killian, and then he teleported to some circular thing in which a black blob came out and transformed into Killian. She split the dark ones power to heal him and bring him back to life.
Not sure what else is needed to explain?
But she cheated death... so my guess... hades be coming to collect
Yeah, that was a great twist. I was wondering why there was no name on Excalibur.
Still no real idea on where the darkness comes from and why it needs to be contained.

Yeah...Im still not getting it. LOL.
When Nimue drank from the Holy Grail she obtained magic & immortality but once she killed someone out of revenge her soul & her magic turned dark simple as that. However when Merlin created the dagger he pretty gave the person (good or evil) in possession of the dagger control over the dark one & the power to wield the dark one's magic as they chose which pretty much defeated the purpose of tethering the dark one's souls to the dagger to begin with. Merlin thought he was solving the problem but his solution solved nothing other than putting a powerful weapon in the hands of mortals to be used for acts of evil themselves.
I'm assuming it was sort of an alternate way to pass on the power. Like with the dagger, if you use it to kill the current Dark One, you become the next Dark One. Since the same spell was used to bind Merlin to Excalibur, I assumed it works in a similar way. Which was why I wondered why Merlin's name (or whoever succeeded him's) name wasn't on Excalibur when Gold pulled it out. Luckily, they explained it.
Still not sure how that created a world threatening danger. Hopefully they will explain it further.
Dr Whale looking and acting like Blaine from IZombie was hilarious.
