ABC's Once Upon a Time - Part 8

This show has been getting old hat. I still enjoy it okay but lately it has been wearing the story thin repeating itself over and over. Other than the revelation about Belle it didn't seem like we really needed another excuse to see Rumple betray people for his own selfish reasons. Again.

The show is horribly repetitive
-Someone meets someone in the flashback scenes
-the power of love saves everyone
-Evil villains turn good
-the heroes works with a previous enemy and the previous enemy later backstabs the hero
-The Season (a or b) ends with a big tease to the next main villain or next storyline only to put the focus/villains of the earlier episode to the sideline (see Frozen/Queen of Darkness).

I wonder if they plan to end the show next season given its ratings?

I don't know what they plan to do next season but if this current season doesn't change it up in a meaningful way it will be my last.

They need to give Rumple a theme song, "I'm evil again!"

The Legend of Tarzan and The Jungle Book are coming out this year, the writers might get an inspiration from those or maybe the ABC execs would call them up again to feature Cinderella or Lady Tremaine because they just appeared in a Disney movie last year. Isn't that what happened with Frozen :funny: Wrap it up!

the last Card they really have to pull is an "animal" based theme... Lion King, Jungle Book, Tarzan...

Hook really is a jerk and deserves to be kicked back to hell

My episode keeps cutting out. So I have no clue what's going on.

I think taking a drink whenever "unfinished business" is said is a dangerous game...

Dat Scarecrow

Judging from set pics I've seen of Sam Witwer, I'm guessing the whole mental hospital bit from Deadline was just a cover. Looking more like Barnabas Collins than someone overseeing an asylum.

That is what the show wants me to believe...but:
All i see is, that in a show were true love never gives up, always believes, is risking everything...Neal Cassidy believed the word of a stranger and left Emma.
He knew that she believes herself to be not enough for anybody, and he walks out on her...while she gets arrested.
The show has the arrogance and wants to tell me that it was for the best?
They want to tell me that he is such a good man and he was once emmas true love...compare it to any other couple on the show and tell me the difference!

Of course Emma still loved him, she forgave the woman who was the reason her life was miserable...without getting some kind of revenge or anything.
She will always love Neal, because of Henry...without neal, there would be no henry...so there is that.

Fact is, the show paints Neal cassidy as a heroic, kind hearted man...but i dont see it that way.
Who cares whose true love is whose? Neal did die heroically. That happened on screen.
He didn't believe the word of a strange. He believed the word of someone who knew about magic and knew who he was. He even wanted to do the time and give the money to her. He gave the money to August, to give to her. August never did. The whole thing was August's idea.
What Emma feels doesn't matter in comparison to what's right.
It was.
I don't remember the show ever saying he was her true love. Not that that matters, because his goodness isn't dependent on whether or not he's Emma's true love or makes choices that make her happy. But, in comparison to the other romances, it was fairly healthy. Emma and Neal never stole a baby and funneled darkness into the baby. Neal didn't try to destroy Emma's family. Neal doesn't lie and manipulate Emma while he plots to take over the world or allows her to remain brainwashed, so he can be dark with her. Have a very great day!

God bless you! God bless everyone!

Who cares whose true love is whose? Since its the highest form of magic and proof in the show...i think everybody cares about all kinds of TL.
Hm, he still trusted a person he didnt knew more then the woman he "loves".
"What Emma feels doesnt matter in comparison to what's right"...wow.
Do you even know how it is to feel worthless? This is how Emma felt when she got handed from one family to the next.
It didnt matter what she thought or how she felt...that is why Neal making a decision that is Emmas to make, so bad.
It is Neals fault for walking away and making her feel like she is worthless.

Yeah a grown man getting a 16 year old girl pregnant is healthy, telling her that he wouldnt have gone near her if he knew who she was is considered healthy, belittling her is healthy.

Neal doesn't lie and manipulate Emma while he plots to take over the world or allows her to remain brainwashed, so he can be dark with her.

Which character has done that again? Cant remember somebody willingly doing that.

Well, looks like we found our new homosexual relationship they've been talking about.

At least we get David vs James next week.

I don't know if it's me, but man this show does absolutely nothing for me now. End up doing other things because it's so uninteresting. Mostly just background noise these days.

Dorothy and Red is hot.:hmr::ilv: Wonder if L. Frank Baum is rolling in his grave or if he would have approved?:hehe:

Sadly I had this on while I was cooking. But the crazy thing is I can't really put my finger on why I've started to lose interest.

Part of it is the use of flashbacks. They can't just focus on the current story, they have to figure out someway to tie it into a past story, which I feel hampers them. I mean, there is a reason Lost started to switch things up with the format. Even Arrow will mess around with how much is flashback or present time. We have these character's pasts pretty well mapped out, and each continued flashbacks begins to over complicate things.

Also, as I said when the premiere happened, Touched by an Angel in the underworld was not a big draw. And look what happened, have to help each soul "move on" that they encounter.

I think they either need to wrap things up next season, or look at getting some new blood.

Same.

Will Dorothy/Red actually be featured or just another throw away couple like Mu/Aurara

Will probably just stay in Oz until they are ready for either character to make another appearance.

It would be nice to have Ruby be part of the main cast again. But, I think we all know that she won't.

Yeah, it's been background noise for a while now. I still put it on every Sunday, but I look up at the screen every few minutes.
