Ausiello: The answer is A) not the next day nor B) weeks later but C), Season 6 will open just moments after Hyde arrived in Storybrooke and ominously greeted Regina. From there, says co-creator Adam Horowitz, “What the Untold Stories characters are, what their whole deal is, is something we’ll explore.”

Ausiello: In addition to the previously scooped Sinbad and Scheherazade, the ABC series is casting for the premiere the role of Morpheus, as in the Greek god of dreams (versus, you know, Laurence Fishburne in The Matrix). He is described as “an old soul in a young body,” someone who is equally good at reading people as he is at hiding his own agenda.

OUAT Casts 24/True Blood's Giles Matthey as Morpheus

Matthey’s character is the quick-witted and insightful god of dreams from Greek mythology. He’s equally good at reading people as he is at hiding his own agenda. He will be doing what Morpheus does best — guiding people through the world of dreams.

I've been wondering why it's taken so long for a casting announcement to come down. If it's Aladdin/Jasmine and they're waiting for SDCC to make the announcement, that would certainly make sense.

Wish we could've gotten [blackout]Naveen Andrews[/blackout] back, but with scheduling conflicts in the mix, this is a more than fair trade.

It is. I think he might've even been the first name I threw out for the character if he ever appeared on the show.

It's sad that they couldn't get Naveen back, but the excitement of seeing an expansion of the character's backstory and hopefully a continuation of his current storyline from where we left off in OUaTiW overrides any issues I have on that score.

I'm also hoping this will end up leading to the show being able to bring back Will, Anastasia, Cyrus, Alice, etc., if only for an episode or two (we were supposed to get Anastasia back in Season 4, but they clearly couldn't make things work out with Emma Rigby's schedule, which is why Will's storyline ended up going unresolved and falling flat).

I watched up until they ruined Hercules' story last season and stopped watching after that. The first half of last season was great but the show became background noise after that. I'll drop in occasionally to see what the consensus is before I even attempt to pick this formulaic mess back up, as I do have a soft spot for it.

I think they realized themself that they messed up a bit.
That is why they go back to the full season approach now.
So far this season already seems to be packed with a lot of things...things they now actually have time to do.

Its still a shame that they havent done this sooner, they threw away a lot of potential with Hercules, Hades, Robin etc.

I agree. While I would have loved to see more Galavant, having Karen David show up on OUAT as Jasmine is a good alternative.

it looks like Wonderland may completely be retconned to me. the show never even hit DVD unfortunately

but it's an all new jafar... so i assume it's all retconned into non-existence. and they are starting over with jafar from scratch
