Once Upon a Time is adding another foe to its cast.

The ABC fairy-tale drama is bringing Captain Nemo and his infamous submarine from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea to Storybrooke this season, with Faran Tahir playing the role. The news of Nemo's arrival, first reported by Entertainment Weekly, will not be good for the beloved Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue).

"We're thrilled to give a Once Upon a Time spin to the classic character of Captain Nemo from one of our favorite Disney films, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis told EW. "We're excited to see his mythology merge with Storybrooke's own captain -- Hook. If for no other reason than to see the Jolly Roger go up against a submarine."

Captain Nemo arrives as Once Upon a Time brings The Land of Untold Stories into the fold. The new world has already introduced classic literary characters Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to Once Upon a Time, and this season will also include the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner).

Pakistani-American actor Tahir has appeared in many television shows and films, including Elysium, Iron Man, Criminal Minds and most recently Supergirl, on which he played The Commander.

Once Upon a Time returns Sept. 25 at 8/7c on ABC.

When last we tuned into ABC’s Once Upon a Time, Mr. Hyde — through a deal with Rumplestiltskin — had laid claim to Storybrooke, so that those from the Land of Untold Stories could relocate to the Maine burg.

But what exactly is an Untold Story, other than one that didn’t merit inclusion in the first volume of Henry’s storybook?ONCE UPON A TIME

“It is a story that has yet to play out,” Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis told TVLine as part of our Fall Preview Q&A. “You’re going to see that a lot of people went to the Land of Untold Stories because they wanted to literally push ‘pause,’ like they were watching their own life on TiVo.”

So whereas Season 1 explored what happened after the fairytales people know and love came to a close, “This is a tweak on that idea,” says co-creator Adam Horowitz. “What happens to some of these stories if they don’t quite finish the way we thought they did, and were suspended midstream? And what would make characters want to suspend their stories?”

For some, Kitsis says, the reasons include “fear, not wanting to face something.” Yet now that Hyde has deposited them in Storybrooke, that “pause” button is poised to come undone — whether they like it or not.

In the latter scenario, “What you’ll be seeing is our characters wanting to help,” says Kitsis. “And we see Emma back in the position where she’s a Savior trying to to help people find their happiness” — once-upon-a-time-jafar-aladdinwhile she also processes the realization that there have been other Saviors, Agrabah street rat Aladdin included, before her.

All told, Kitsis promises a back-to-basics return to the Storybrooke-based tone of Season 1. “It’s really Emma and the Yellow Bug, riding around helping people,” he previews, “which is what we wanted to come back to this year.”

Once Upon a Time Season 6 premiers Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8/7, where it will lead into Season 2 of Secrets and Lies.

That could be interesting.

First look at Aladdin and Jasmine:

Not sure if I'm gonna watch this season. Haven't really enjoyed the show these last few seasons. Might just wait for it to come onto Netflix and binge it.

Heads-Up: There's a decent chance you'll get an answer to this blind item tonight. http://tvline.com/2016/08/17/blind-item-fall-casting-stunt-broadcast-show/

Blind Item: This Fall's Biggest Casting News Has Not Been Announced
By Michael Ausiello

You need a scorecard to keep track of all the personnel shakeups underway on your favorite returning shows (hey, such a scorecard exists!). But there’s one slide conspicuously missing from TVLine’s comprehensive Fall TV Cast Changes roundup — and with good reason. You see, this particular piece of casting news is intended to be a spit-take-worthy shock to end all spit-take-worthy shocks.

According to sources, a returning series on one of the Big 5 networks is getting ready to pull off what will likely go down as one of the coolest, most surprising casting stunts of the year. The onscreen twist — which was shot earlier this month under a Star Wars-level veil of secrecy — is set to air during the show’s season premiere.

Prediction: The show — and
’s name — will be trending on Twitter before the closing credits roll.
Hmmm.... if this is regarding a premiere airing tonight, I'm betting it's either this or The Last Man on Earth (they pulled off a stealth Will Farrell appearance last season). But the whole device of the Untold Stories affords the show the opportunity to pull out a character one wouldn't expect. There's also that Star Wars (Disney-owned property) name-drop, but I'm hesitant to believe we'll be seeing an appearance from a SW character. I'd be more willing to bet, like...[blackout] Bette Midler as Winifred Sanderson[/blackout], or something.

This show...they really like to find 1 word then beat it into the ground.

I have this on in the background. Not really paying attention. Anything of note happen?

I was skipping between this and RHONJ everytime one had a commercial.

Emma has a case of shaky hands
Rumples unborn fetus already hates him
Aladdin is down in the dumps

And The Evil Queen showed up in the last moments, also only one flashback.

Update: The TVLine Blind Item has been revealed and it is [BLACKOUT]Jon Hamm[/BLACKOUT] for The Last Man on Earth.

I liked the episode. Evil Queen so much more intriguing than Regina.

Pretty confident that with a season that is including Dr Jekyl/Mr. Hyde and Regina/Evil Queen that in the flashback the person who killed Emma is Evil Emma.

Being that this is all the way at page 5, I assume not many people here are watching this season.

Nope. Might catch up when they add it to Netflix. But for now, I'm done with the show and don't miss it at all.

I watch it and enjoy it very much.
There is just not much to talk about, i simply watch it and have fun.
For all the drama etc about the show, i use Tumblr.

The Jekyll and Hyde part of this season was really cool, i liked Hyde as a "villian".
Now they have Aladdin, Jasmine and Jafar in the story...which is well done in the first episode.
Having Regina and The Evil queen in the show is too much...but okay.

I've been keeping up with it but the steam is a little low this season.

Well...it does seem like at the end of the show everybody will be related to everbody.:woot:

The Black Fairy was really great, i would love to see her as a future villian.

and look who her son is...

Not watched it yet but I have a really good guess as to who is being referred to. Which makes sense if I'm right because that ties everyone together in some kind of perverse family.

Was just gonna say. Black fairy will be the main big bad. I'm kinda bored with the rest. I don't want it to be the last season.

I was right. Who else could it possibly have been? Sadly OUAT is beyond predictable at this stage.

I'm actually quite pleased with this midseason finale. I've been a little meh on the season as a whole, but I'm reasonably amped up for the second half now, considering all the loose threads that are in the mix. Especially since last season's was "Let's revert everything back to status quo and put everyone on a boat to hell, where they'll inevitably bring back the character that just died." The characters are scattered this time, doing different things, dealing with separate conflicts, I'm feeling it.
