Thank god [blackout]Rumple is back to being the Dark One. Didn't care for him as a hero.[/blackout]

SERIOUSLY.

I'm actually a little irritated with it. I like the show, but they really need to abandon status quo, rather than take a nice little vacation from it for awhile before coming right back. End of last season, Rumple was no longer the Dark One, and Emma had taken the mantle. Now? [blackout]Everyone is back to where they started[/blackout]! Now, [blackout]Hook is dead[/blackout]. Guess who will be alive again by the season finale!

I want a real, fundamental change in the series. When we started off, there was the dichotomy between the fairy tale characters we thought we knew and how they are in the real world. It was an exploration of the unknown. But now that exploration is gone. We get it. We know who they all are, in both realms. Shake it up. Have magic escape Storybrooke and see how the world outside copes. Make the worlds collide. I want a dragon atop the Empire State Building. I want trolls in Central Park. And then I want them to jump forward. Show the melting pot of a whole world with magic. Shake up the Charmings. We get their deal already. They're vanilla, but they've done some bad s***. Make them do more bad s*** and actually cause a real fracture between them. Have Zelena curse Regina. And not a "Oh, I've taken your memories of the last two weeks" curse. Take her f***ing life and make her someone else entirely. Then this chick that acts like she knows the error of her ways can ACTUALLY know the error of her ways. Humble her. Rumpelstiltskin? Make him Hades' b****. He's proven tonight that he'll never really change, so make him suffer for it.

In the post-Breaking Bad world, I just can't abide by keeping things this much the same. They changed up the series once by giving everyone their memories back and bringing magic to Storybrooke, and they've pretended to change things up again by making Emma the Dark One. Take it one step further. Hell, take it TEN steps further.

..... all that said, pretty good one tonight. That s*** with Rumple just set me off.

I find it funny that the whole episode was about preventing everyone from going to hell, [BLACKOUT]only for them to voluntarily go to hell to save Hook in the end.[/BLACKOUT] And I guess they're constantly going to throw it out there that no matter what happens to him and no matter how great life is going, Rumple loves having power more than anything even his wife.

This is why I just couldn't go 100% in on this season so far, hopefully 5B will change that. BTW, did Merida go back home or was she still in Storybrooke?

Damn, even I forgot about King Arthur... Oops.

Yup. [BLACKOUT]How many times will Rumplestiltskin be killed, resurrected, redeemed and then turned evil all over again? Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin is one of the absolute best things about this show, but maybe the character should be retired. And Hook will probably be back soon enough.[/BLACKOUT]

[BLACKOUT]Also, did they forget that the dwarves were also marked? :funny: The Dark Ones only transported the main cast to the lake at the end. And another thing, when Emma was going to the Underworld, I was so excited cause it seemed like a really cool moment, but then they all started walking and also decided to take Henry with them . I mean, really?[/BLACKOUT]

Eh this mid-season finale.

Of course, at the last moment, the bad guy (Hook) had a change of heart because of the power of love (similar to how the Snow Queen sacrificed her life) and of course Rumplestiltskin is back to his old self for like the tenth time. And Wicked Witch is out of the picture again until the writers decide its time to bring her back for whatever reason though it wasn't like they gave her good material this season for her disappear again.

I didn't like Dark Swan storyline of season 5 and hopefully the Underworld episodes would be so much better. I also hope when they start 5B, they don't do this "everyone can't remember what happened when they arrived at this new place because flashbacks and we wiped everyone's memory to protect someone they love" for like the 5th time.

Was Rebecca Mader being a full time cast member only for the this arc?

You mean the Charmings' kid, or Henry? Because at this point he's far from being a kid now.

Henry, you really think they should let a kid go to hell, literally? It's not exactly a paradise vacation spot :oldrazz:

True, little Neal will be in that OUaT black hole they put all their suddenly forgotten characters. Might find Merida and Arthur there too.

It's sad that the whole "Dark" Swan arc had no real pay off. She never really went dark or did anything major. And of course they drop all the supporting players they introduce for it since thats just what they do for some reason in the finales.

Hell, even the Frozen arc had a conclusion for the characters.

Frozen was one of the few arcs that they actually treated with care for obvious reasons.

I don't know what to make of the midseason finale. It was definitely an eye roller with Rumplestiltskin being back to the Dark One. This started off promising but it quickly turned back to the safe road. No need to rehash it all (Dark Swan, Hook, taking Henry to Hades etc.) so I hope they do something better in the next half of the season or it might be the last.

Exactly. Henry jumped in Isaac's book, tracked down/freed Emma and wrote their asses back into their own reality, he's earned his place at the grown-up table. Plus the closest thing he has to a father, at this point, is hanging in the balance. He can come.

Now, Robin though... little more surprised about him leaving his two day old daughter behind.

Wait, wouldn't Neal be in the underworld?

I said it before and say it again, as much as i liked this season half(it was awesome overall imo)It should have been a full season storyline.

There was simply too much there, they didnt do a good job in balancing it all.
You had pretty much none scenes with emma and her parents, Emmas struggle was only briefly, then as dark swan she wasnt really evil, Merlin...who was supposed to be this big and powerful character...got what? 4 scenes and was killed off so lame, merida had no purpose in the main story except to be there for one Brave pun etc.

It was extremely unbalanced.
The writers plan a huge storyline...for 11 episodes...they bite off more then they can chew.
The queens of darkness in the last season are also a proof for this.

Its frustrating sometimes to see how much potential this show throws away...especially when it has fantastic actors, great costume designs and an overall good writing.

Wait, wouldn't Neal be in the underworld?

Hopefully not, the guy is a dirtbag.
I think the writers said that the place they will go, is something between two worlds and only has people in it that have unfinished buisness.
Has somebody unfinished buisness with him?
His father has accepted his death, Emma and henry too.

That's true but Im sure Granny can take care of her I mean its not like Zelena is running around
I mean afterall Regina sent her back to Oz. But Im sure we haven't seen the last of her

Yeah I'm sure she'll return and hey they may even have her come back with another horrible version of this lady.

Once Upon a Time to Bring Back Dorothy Gale as an Oz-some Warrior
By Matt Webb Mitovich

Is Dorothy Gale trading in her gingham dress for a warrior’s wardrobe?

TVLine has learned exclusively that ABC’s Once Upon a Time is plotting to revisit the plucky lass, who previously was seen in the Season 3 episode “Kansas” (then played by Matreya Scarrwener, now age 17 and co-starring on UP’s Ties That Bind).

Thing is, when next we encounter Dorothy (midway through Season 5B), she will be in her late 20s to early 30s and will have evolved from “the iconic, pig-tailed girl from Kansas” into “a brave warrior for good.” Having been sent home to the heartland with three clicks of her heels — courtesy of the “Wizard” (aka a duplicitous Zelena) — Dorothy returns to Oz looking to reclaim the magical land from the Wicked Witch, whom Regina just ejected from Storybrooke.

Who would you cast in the recurring guest star role?
Guessing the age change will be explained by Dorothy eventually coming back to Oz at a point when all the realms were still frozen by Regina's curse.

Now that Zelena has been banished back to Oz, will we finally have an opportunity for Regina and Robin to bond a little bit more?

EK:
In the second half, we're going to definitely see way more Regina. There is going to be a lot of Regina, in fact. There's going to be more with her and Robin Hood, and we have not seen the last of Zelena, so I think all of those stories are going to continue to play out over the second half.
Thank god, I am getting sick of this ''Once upon a Hook'' storyline!
