Okay so Dr. Whale is not big bad wolf...what are the options.

a. Whale = Monstro, the whale from Pinocchio
b. Whale = He is a villainous fairy tale character having to do with the sea or water.
c. Whale = He is a villainous fairy tale character having to with large amounts of money, from the gambling term Whales being high rollers with large cash sums.
d. Whale = is a doctor (would tie in with money)...doctors know about scientific things such as chemistry...Wizards were a sort of medieval chemist (alchemists), perhaps he is some fairy tale Wizard.

any thoughts

all of the above have crossed my mind, though... the show actors and creators have said they're not afraid to step out of the traditional realm of fairy tales.. and go more modern (they've mentioned the possibility of Sherlock Holmes even), and as much as i don't really like that idea.. for all we know... Doctor Whale... could even be Moby Dick or Captain Ahab

Neat twist with Red. Didn't realize it wasn't going to be Peter until Granny said, "That poor boy!"

So, is that the heart of David's wife or is it the "magical" heart of his wife that Regina keeps tucked away?

well... they did say it was a human heart.

im not really sure how regina's heart spells work.. in reality.

How hot did Ruby look when she went back to Granny for her job :wow::hrt:

Nice twist with Red being the wolf.

Ruby is a case study in how toning down the makeup increases hotness.

Yeah. I think she looks better as Red Riding Hood than as Ruby.

She really does.

It seems that Snow White/Mary Margaret was already using Mary Margaret as an alias before the Queen unleashed the curse but how did she remember that name or come to be called Mary Margaret in Storybrooke?

I think the spell handled the naming and their fake memories along with everything else

I think there's a chance that that alias could've stuck with her in the new world. And remember, Charming's name was also David before he took on the Prince James identity and that stuck with him, so maybe.

Anyway....

I've tried to figure out the timeline for the fairy tale world in the flashbacks, what I've come up with is:

Desperate Souls (supposedly centuries before the stuff we usually see)
That Still Small Voice (Gepetto was a kid, so probably a good 50 or so years before the Queen cast the curse)
Fruit of the Poisonous Tree
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
Red Handed
The Shepherd
Snow Falls
True North/7:15 AM/What Happened to Frederick (all around the same time)
Price of Gold
Pilot/The Thing You Love Most (the Queen casting the curse)

The only two I can't figure out are Skin Deep and Dreamy. Given Belle's appearance in both, they happen in that order, but I can't figure out how they play in, other than that it must be before 7:15 AM's story.

i was under the impression that her scene in "dreamy" was during the time she spent away from the rumple's place.

Holy...... ****ing...... ****. :wow:

Last night's episode was pretty good. I enjoyed August's converation with Henry. Can't wait for next week's episode with the Mad Hatter!

Yeh, I can't figure out how they'll explain it, but I'm gonna go with the writer guy (August was it?!) is in fact, Henry. Is all about the eyes......

See, for me personally, I just don't know if I can accept that (and I really hope they don't go that route). Since they killed Graham off (which really, REALLY pissed me off), August is the next choice for any type of romantic interest for Emma so far, which I, personally, would love. Though I know there are those that don't like romance to be in everything - for this show it feels like Emma *should* have some romance... and unless they go with Oedipus complex...

Again, that's just my personal opinion. I'm more inclined to believe that August is either the author of the book/descended from the author of the book (i.e. a Grimm descendant or something).

It would be really creepy if August is a grown up Henry. He was flirting with Emma and even had a drink with her.

Here's the chronological list that I've figured out:

Episode 08: Desperate Souls
Episode 05: That Still Small Voice
Episode 11: Fruit of the Poisonous Tree
Episode 07: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
Episode 12: Skin Deep
Episode 15: Red-Handed
Episode 14: Dreamy
Episode 06: The Shepherd
Episode 03: Snow Falls
Episode 10: 7:15 A.M.
Episode 09: True North
Episode 13: What Happened to Frederick
Episode 16: Heart of Darkness
Episode 04: The Price of Gold
Episode 02: The Thing You Love Most
Episode 01: Pilot

Also, I agree, and really hope August is not grown up Henry...

Good episode. You would think Emma would cotton on that Regina is behind most of the bad stuff sooner.

I wonder what Rumple is going to do with the love potion.

Regina saying to David about seeing evil when its in front of you was the most scenery chewing scene of the week. I almost expect her to break into maniacal laughter :)

Rumple has his giggle and the Queen has her evil smirk.

Hw did the jail key end up in the blanket? I think I missed something.

I never noticed how freaking big Rumple's eyes are until this ep. Really freaky. Looks like hes got the power of true love now. Wonder how hes going to use it.

The show already has access to Disney-specific characters. They used Malificent instead of a generically named bad fairy.

If they're gonna go more modern, we might not want to rule out a Marvel Comics character.

Doubt it. Some people already threw hissy fits at including Midas, a Greek myth, into a show about fairy tale characters. Shoehorning in comic book characters wouldn't fit and would likely be a big turn off to viewers, who can tell the difference between comics and fairy tales.

They should just turn this show into a live action Imaginationland!
