However I really liked Javier Bardem and Forest whittiker's performances in their films. I didn't realize it til now...the best actress category has been pretty damn weak over the years

It was a tough pick between Heath Ledger and Javier Bardem. Ultimately, I figured The Joker was a more difficult character to portray and Ledger did it superbly.

Very few I give win to

Slumdog Millionaire? The year of the Wrestler, Gran Torino, TDK, Let The Right One In etc... now, there is something really wrong with the oscars.
Also Rourke should have won or at least Clint (specially considering it's allegedly his last acting role and a great one too).

i actually thought the Oscars did right with the Best ACtor win
I mean yes Mickey Rourke was great in The Wrestler but in Milk Penn went through a physical, mental, & vocal transformation and he nailed it. Thats we he deserved to win over Rourke imo.

I agree Penn was great (maybe his best role with Carlito's way, a personal favorite) but I was more moved by Rourke. Anyway, good picks, specially Heath Ledger in TDK.
