Do you get a kick of out of trying to antagonize people? No one is frustrated, it's an opinion on what is going on, you don't have to reply each time with "why are u frustrated"? Or "what is bothering you"?
I did not reply like that to another post. Just yours, because I'm genuinely curious. You've spent the last few days seemingly getting really upset about Fury of the Gods in here. Not simply opinions, but complaining about actors who aren't even 10th on the cast list, defending their work, not all the provocatively. But when Black Adam was failing at the box office, you were calling it on par of a success with Thor and The First Avenger. It went on for days. Now you seem completely the opposite with Fury of the Gods, and I'd legitimately like to know why. You don't have to answer it of course.

Nobody who works at DC seems happy man.

Only a matter of time before they break Matt Reeves too.

lol You cannot make this DC drama up.

Look, I'm gonna play devil's advocate: I think, all in all, Dwayne got tired of being considered "franchise viagra" and simply just wanted to be THE lead in his own superhero franchise. Call it cocky, call it arrogant, call it greedy, but I think he just reached that level of stardom where he was like "why would I CO-star in a movie where I get beat up by a bunch of kids?" Whether its deserved or not Dwayne IS one of the biggest movie stars currently, he commands the kind of paychecks that people like Tom Cruise, or Robert Downey Jr or Will Smith command so he naturally thinks he is as big as them.

I think this whole ordeal was a big piece of humble pie for him and probably for the best.

LOL, Dwayne went from “franchise viagra” to “franchise chemical castration.”

I never said BA was a success, what I did say was that there are factors at play now like films releasing on streaming soon that were not at play a decade or so ago when films were being compared. But whatever I don't to rehash that again

As for Shazam 2, my "complaint" is that the people involved with the film seem to be deflecting blame for its performance. And it's not just "10th on the call list" people, Levi is blaming the marketing, Sandberg is pointing to an RT audience score, etc. All I am saying is that they should be promoting the film, but they don't have to make excuses while doing it. Now you have major outlets reporting on it, including an article about how Levi called out Snyder fans. Who is being helped by all this? Just the trolls. The Snyder cult is celebrating that they are mentioned, other trolls are celebrating that they got to the cast/crew. And it's just putting more negativity on a DC brand that has so many problems to begin with. In my opinion, there is a professional way to handle failure. And it's not just the Shazam 2 people. We definitely saw it with Snyder, we saw it with Yan a bit, and now this. And again just my opinion, but I think it points to a problem in DC, namely the creatives get a lot of power and think they can do no wrong.

We're going to end up in a situation where the New DCEU will be canceled but there will still be a random floating video game released a few years after. :o
The games are going to be the curse from It Follows. Just getting passed to the next leadership, half way through development.

Yeah I get that, he definitely deserves some blame. I just think we're also kind of not focusing on the fact that it wasn't a very good film and that the DC brand is so weak that a sequel to a well-liked and profitable film won't make even $200 million. I think both the studio and the cast/crew are content with others taking the heat

Movie isn't scoring well, that much I will give you. So did Black Adam. Just speaking for myself if given the choice of living on an island and I can only watch Shazam 2 or Black Adam with no other options, Shazam 2 easily. Black Adam i think is the 2nd worst DCEU film they made, only ahead of the 1st Suicide Squad movie. Shazam 2 at least was somewhere in the middle

Like you mentioned how there are different factors in box office from 2011 and 2022, there are differences in how you promote a film. Levi has gone full Rock, so while it's stupid, I don't think anyone is taking it seriously. Just laughing at him. But bringing up RT scores isn't an oddity now. I saw a tv spot today for D&D which proudly displayed the RT critic's score, and I've seen others do it with the audience score as well. As long as they ain't out here leaking documents after they said they were going to change the hierarchy, I don't have a problem with it. But that's me.

I don't think you can put more negativity on the DC brand. This is all residual noise. No one is paying attention to this DC at this point. Outside of the Flash, and that's because of a movie released back in 1989. I also don't think Dwayne or Chuck care. They're both out. This is a personal ego thing for them. Which makes sense considering what we know about them.

What did Yan do that was so determinantal to DC, outside going against the grain and making a good flick with women in the lead roles?

That's kind of what I am getting at, where the egos are so large that instead of showing some appreciation for getting an opportunity to make a film they feel the need to take shots on the way out. Didn't Sandberg say something like hey I got paid upfront? Like why would you say that lol? As for Yan, I don't remember the exact phrasing but Ayer was complaining as usual about his film getting butchered and Yan QT'd him shortly after her film flopped with something like "I know how you feel". Not a huge deal, but again it's just these DC creatives who feel the need to come out firing after a film doesn't do well.
