The smartcar scene in Expendables 2 would have been my #4 choice.

does the Battle for NY include the sequence that leads to that beautiful tracking shot of them all Assembled on screen? if so then:
1. Avengers Battle for New York-brings tears to my eyes
2. Thor vs Iron Man-got to see what IM's armor can take and how powerful Thor is.
3. Hulk vs Thor-nuff said
4. Train chase in Skyfall

The Helicarrier Siege

The Battle for NY

Bane vs Batman round one

Bane vs batman was pretty stiff and obviously choreographed. But I loved the dialogue during the scene and the back break

I didn't think that at all. It looked and felt like Batman putting everything he had into each punch and kick while Bane sat there letting him get tired. Not every fight needs be what a consider to be obviously choreographed like The Raid or The Matrix. It was just a down to earth, gritty brawl

Bingo.

Batman vs Bane wasn't the prettiest brawl, but that's the point -- it was a grounded match up. Seeing Batman go primal after underestimating Bane and seeing his strikes have no effect was golden.

#4: Van Damme vs Lundgren or Arlovski vs Unisols

[Universal Soldier: Regeneration]

1. The battle for New York (The Avengers)
2. The Bat and Batpod vs. the Tumbler Chassis and Truck (TDKR)
3. Iron Man vs. Thor (The Avengers)

Honorable mention: Batman and Catwoman's skirmish with Bane's mercenaries on the rooftop in TDKR. Short but sweet.

1. Fight for New York- the continuous shot will get it the effects Oscar, years prior Spielberg (!) Said something like that could not be achieved live action a la Tinting. Joss Whedon came in and- WOW!

2. Sky fall Chase through streets- to me this whole sequence and film provided inspiration in action sequences as a writer in how many different forms of action and beats were included in one sequence.

3. Batman/Cat woman/Bane Rooftop- this moment just SCREAMED comic book, it was the first time when watching the franchise that the fan boy in me went "that's exactly like a scene in a comic book!"

Bane vs batman was pretty stiff and obviously choreographed. But I loved the dialogue during the scene and the back break

I thought the same thing. It seemed like more of a dance than a fight with each knowing what will happen next. I think it was the pace at which the punches were thrown. I think brawl or savage brawl I think fast fight with punches thrown every which way. Here it seemed more calculated on both parts. Which makes sense given their backgrounds, just not as calculated.

Avengers: Helicarrier Sequence
TDKR: Batman vs Bane (Round 2)
Skyfall (Skyfall Mansion)

All nolans bat sequences(and reading some of the justifications) is typical Nolan. The execution is never really all that but the context is very strong.
We've seen better bike scenes, we've seen better uneven fist fights, roof top fights. But few more exciting.

Avengers gets' best sequence nods from me(context et all)
Followed by
Van Damn's return by way of beating up Stallone
Spiderman in the High School

no love for the hobbit.

2.) Ambush/Assault [The Raid]

Another scene that was practical and featured no CGI just good acting and camera work and fantastic choreography.
The Raid wasn't entirely pracical. There's plenty of CG enhancement going on.

The monster purge in cabin in the woods

I'll second that.

-Cabin in the Woods monster purge.
-Avengers Helicarrier assault.
-TDKR -the opening sequence. I didn't like the movie itself, but the opening scene with Bane and the airplanes was really cool. Credit where credit's due.

1. Battle for New York (Avengers
2. Amazing Spider-man library scene
3. Iron-Man/Thor/Cap confrontation

1. The Avengers - Battle for NY
2. Skyfall - Fight in Shanghai
3. The Avengers - Thor vs. Iron Man

Well, nowadays, I'll give you that. There's CGI in almost everything.

Now that I think about it. I'm changing my vote to Arlovski vs Unisols and Van Damme vs Lundgren in Universal Soldier: Regeneration only because some of The Raid's choreography got repetitive.

1.) Batman vs Bane Round One in the sewers

2.) Batman's return after an eight year absence

3.) The high school battle between Spider-Man and Lizard

1. Batman vs. Bane sewer fight (TDKR)
2. Batman's return (TDKR)
3. NY Battle (Avengers)

Honorable mentions: Skyfall mansion (Skyfall), helicarrier (Avengers), every scene with Arnie (Expendables 2)

Final showdown-SkyFall
Final Showdown-Chronicle
The Avengers final battle I guess
