Actors Who Inexplicably Disappeared

No, I thought so too. In my review I said he didn't make me buy that all these glamorous socialite people would be interested in him.

But that’s how the character of Nick is written. He’s the audience surrogate as just a regular guy. He’s not suppose to compete with Gatsby. That’s the point. He’s not supposed to fit in which is why the odd couple look of Debicki and him works.

Well in fairness Debicki is freakishly tall. I watched Widows and I swear she looks nine feet tall in every scene.

I mean, 6’3” is very tall but most actors (especially male actors, are ridiculously short. People always pick on Tom Cruise but I think most male actors in Hollywood are around his height.

Google says she's 6'3". Pretty much perfect height for Samus in a Metroid movie. Make it happen Nintendo!!! :argh:

Hell yeah, man. Nintendo is sitting on a goldmine with Metroid and Zelda. You have to think that eventually they’ll get over their Super Mario Bros. fears and let someone adapt one of their properties again.

I was going to mention Kate Hudson but I just haven't seen anything she's been in for years. Last thing she did was in 2017.

He’s playing Arthur Miller in the Marilyn Monroe movie with Ana De Armas. But I don’t think he’s done that much.

I always wonder the same thing. Even actors who used to work in soaps, or actors that do projects here and there, how the hell are they able to pay their rent/mortgage? Same with singers who had the occasional one hit.

Dominic Monaghan who you wouldn’t think would be uber wealthy has some big house in the Hollywood Hills with its own movie theater.

That old WWE wrestler - The Rock was supposed to the next big action superstar. Saw him in one or two things but sad he disappeared!

Speaking of LOTR, I haven't seen Billy Boyd in anything since those movies and that Master & Commander film.

Huh, yeah I guess he has. Guess I should look up IMDB more often, lol.

Oh yeah, has anyone said Jack Gleeson? He gave up acting because he just doesn't care for it, apparently. I also heard it was because people kept giving him crap for being Joffrey.

From what I understand....Gleeson has pretty much decided to only do stage work in his native Ireland.

I was watching the Poseidon remake the other day.

What the heck happened to Josh Lucas? Seemed like he was the go-to Rom-Com / Action star in the late 90's early 00's. Poseidon, Sweet Home Alabama, Stealth, Glory Road...nevermind, I answered my own question.

Funny I was thinking the same thing, but he was in Ferrari v Ford this weekend. Very one note characters, but he played it well.
He was always my choice for Max Lord

i haven't seen Joseph Gordon Levitt in a good minute
Came in here to say just that

Was watching 50/50 the other day and wondered what happened to him. Guy was in a lot of great movies around 2009-2013 and then he just kinda vanished. I think the last high profile movie of his was Snowden and that came out in 2015 or 2016 if I’m not mistaken

I know his wife is the CEO of some tech startup and he started a business himself.

He's had his online production company Hit Record for a long time, and has his own podcast where he interviews other actors and industry people nowadays.

He also has two children, one born in 2015 and one born in 2017, so that could also be a factor in him slowing down.

Matthew Fox couldn't break into movies after Lost. I haven't seen him in something in ages.

JGL's career fallen apart after he turned down Godzilla '14.

Will be interesting what happens with Gosling's career in next few years. When you look at his last six studio movies four of them bombed and he's 40 next year.

Lol, I hardly think anyone’s career fell apart because they turned down Aaron Taylor Johnson’s nothing role in Godzilla.
