I don't think he could pull off the Captain America unless he used steroids for a year or fake muscles...plus Cap was a working man. Bitt looks too much like a Gap underwear model doesn't look like he'd be a war vet of dozens of suicide engagements.

Ya I remember the original Punisher movie with Dolph...at least that movie was BASED on the comics. This new one had sunshine and beaches?? It was always raining in Punisher comics. Plus putting it where they did kind of ruined a crossover name drop they could have done with Kingpin and the Costa crime family with a Daredevil and Spidey mention or something.

Tampa with sunshine...pshaw that's not Punisher that's someone way more of a wuss like Cyclops or something. The Pun is from Queens come on! heh

The one good line in the original Punisher movie was the interrogation scene where Frank is on the table and the woman asks him "Who sent you" while they charge him with a car battery or something...his reply is priceless..."Batman"; I still laugh at that and people look at me wierd and tell me that scene isn't in Punisher and I must be thinking of a different film. Then I slap them.

No if you all thought the original Punisher movie was bad that's NOTHING compared to the original Captain America movie...wow, I can't even explain how bad that movie was. It's like Star Crash bad but Star Crash has some wicked funny stuff like David Hasselhoff is in it. It's wicked because it's so bad (I love lame horror and sci fi heh). But the old Captain America movie was just plain horrible.

Yeah, that did suck assloads. That movie had like 10% Captain America and even then that was the least of it's problems.

As for Punisher, at least there was an actuall skull on his chest. The character(s) was very much present in this movie. A little change of location is nothing. The Punisher punishes all. He was mobile at one point. I'm sure each movie will be a different locale. As for the beaches? There was like what? One? 2 scenes? Not like the guy hasn't been hunting at the beach before.

Naw Vin Diesel as Silver Surfer? He'd have to trim down something fierce, all trim and slim. Surfer is 6'4" and I think Vin is around 6'0" even. You could get away with that kind of a height difference on a character like Silver Surfer because of CG and boot soles. THIS is actually one of those times where I talk in some other threads about the difference between someone who naturally has a large frame vs. someone who doesn't. Vin is pretty built in the shoulders. Surfer looks exactly like...a surfer in competition shape all lean with sinew with low % of body fat. Vin is too big for the role, carrying too much bulk. Plus I never really imagined Silver Surfer with a deep booming type voice but with a normal tone with a metallic tone effect put on it kinda like the old Transformers but no where near as cheesy and you can do it more subtle.

This is where I'd utilize some of the other mentions that people threw around like Brad Pitt (for real) or someone like that or Matthew McConnaughey if he could lose his accent.

Well in my post I stated the Captain America MOVIE. I was unaware there was another movie from 1944, I haven't seen it. And the TV appearences were just as horrible although the guy sort of looked like Cap I guess. Except seeing that dude's package and the lame ass costume...I rest my case. The TV and the 1991 movie were some of the worst superhero depictions I've ever seen along with Thor and Daredevil (with his all black ninja costume) from the Incredible Hulk movies.
