Actors Whose Appeal is Lost On You

I have no respect for people like that. He clearly takes what he does way too seriously.

No one fully can separate a celebrity from their work. If a musician or actor says or does something you dont' agree with, you are gonna look at them differently. Hence all that **** that goes on with celebs that are openly republican or democrat and preaching their thoughts.

Sasha Baron Cohen

Ed Harris (something about him creeps me out)

Anthony Anderson (I just find him completely annoying, and he shouldn't have been in Transformers)

Jay Baruchel

Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill is what we call literal dumb luck.

Not that seriously, and come on, he's an actor. He's not doing anything remotely important.

He's making millions.

Acting is a job. And like a job, you do have to take it seriously. Films are just as important as any sort of entertainment throughout time.

Which is not, and taking your job seriously is good, but there's taking it seriously, and then there's not having a sense of humor about it.

Well, imagine if some dude kept, over and over again, kept distracting you, when you needed to concetrate...over and over and over again.

Seriously, that was the only movie he flipped a ***** on. Mainly because some idiot was ****ing up his scene.

We'll never know how many times he asked him to stop messing with the lights in the scene.

Could he have handled it better? Yes. But you also have to remember...Christian Bale is a human being. So.....sometimes you reach a boiling point. I have.

I feel like he's only famous because of Superbad, and Michael Cera and the McLovin kid (his name is too complicated and I'm too tired to go look it up) made the movie, not him.

I'm hoping Worthington doesn't become another Colin Ferrell. That dude just about Blew up in the beginning. Coming out with like a billion movies in two years time....then...he hasn't had a hit in like years now.
You didnt see In Bruges? He was great in that film and it was one of the best films of last year. Farell had the oposite. He was not appealing at all, then came In Bruges, now he seems to be making several interesting movies.

*trying to picture Leo as a badass* :lmao:

I think the problem is you just haven't gotten over all the overexposure he had on all the store magazines when Titanic came out.

When Titanic came out I was sick of looking at his mug everywhere and really disliked him. When I finally caught the film on VHS, I realized it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and gave him a chance as an actor.

I'm glad I gave him a chance because from that point on in his career he has been making some solid films as well as giving some good to great performances. One of my all time favorites of his, is playing Howard Hughes in The Aviator, to be honest that's probably one of my top favorite films of this decade as well.

Also, don't forget the damn good performance he gave in What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

I have no respect for people like that. He clearly takes what he does way too seriously.

Him being an actor...I'm glad he takes it that seriously. Aside from what I would call a mistep with Terminator Salvation, I think he's a damn good actor. It's great to have an actor like that in Hollywood were the larger percentage of all actors are made up of people who are mainly a pretty face and or play themselves in just about every film.

I understand it was a dick move losing his temper like that but way too many people forget that actors/celebrities are Not Gods. They're just like the rest of us except for one thing...they became successful. As other posters have mentioned, yeah, I would lose faith in him if he did something absolutely horrible like what Chris Brown did. All he did though, was lose his temper...which is something numerous people do every day. Unless a celebrity does something atrocious, I don't think it's fair to judge or fully hate them for basically being a human with faults...like everyone else.

No, he's right. Collin Ferrell was being pushed to be the 'next big thing' and he scored a bunch of movies. But the momentum kinda died because, let's be honest, some of those 'hits' didn't allow him to show off his acting besides Tiger Land.

But it wasn't for The New World and In Bruges (In Bruges for sure) made people go "Hey, he's a good actor afterall".

I really think that Sam might end up being like Collin, but it's hard to say at this point. We'll see.

It's very possible. I'm going to wait to see his next film after Clash of the Titans. With CotT you know his performance isn't going to be much different than what we've seen in TS and Avatar.

Hopefully he picks something more dramatic that will require some range to get an idea if he can act better or if he's still one note.

Or do a comedy. Every actor that comes off bland or too full of themselves needs to do at least one comedy. Tom Cruise already has done it.

Regarding Christian Bale snapping at that guy, who cares? We don't have to like him, we're not his friend, he's an actor! His job is to fully commit to a character and role for the benefit of a movie... It's this over exposure of celebrities, and tabloids constantly feeding us information about their lives... Would we honestly care otherwise?

It's like Russell Crowe. He's clearly an over agressive *****e bag, but I'll see a movie with him because I know he's a great actor, whereas someone like Jessica Alba might be really sweet and smiley, but she can't act for crap, unless the role is remarkably similar to 'Jessica Alba'.

Also, regarding the T4 Bale incident, having worked in TV and Film, techies and crew members can be air headed and smart arsey. It's generally understood, when ever they're recording, no one fiddles with anything, so I hardly blame him for getting ******.

These days, we're obsessed with celebrity, and make them out to be huge parts of our lives, unlike the heyday when everything they did or discussed was kept private. Your fanbase will react accordingly if you do something out of order in regards to how they think you should be.

It shouldn't matter, is all I mean. And one of the big problems with Hollywood is that there are very few actual actors around. Too many star vehicle movies, where the roles are based on the actors rather than the other way around. People like Jessica Alba... We put these people on such pedestals and idolise them, and make them bigger than they are.

Even Cameron had referred Sam to McG for Terminator Salvation because he was the next hot thing. :whatever:
It's the whole chicken egg thing. Did McG get sam for terminator to get in ahead of "soon-to-be" "next hot thing". Or did cameron getting McG to get sam, make sam the "next hot thing". lol

Regarding bale & crowe. I have no intention of burning my TDK and Gladiator dvds because they got hissy fits off screen.
